"So yesterday My folks drove in from Houston to visit, and when discussing lunch, salt grass was brought up because they are Landry's card holders and I confessed to never been there before, so off we went. Upon arriving and walking inside, the first thing I noticed was the decor and atmosphere of the place which I found to be pretty cool so already I had a decent enough feeling. That feeling was only slightly skewed after looking at my silverware noticing that one of the forks was incredibly cruddy it looked like it had baked on cheese and gravy stuck to it which I did not make a big deal out of I went over to our waitress and kind of nonchalantly after if I could have another fork she said of course finish that back down what about enjoying the rest of my appetizer. But then she got another strike after the chop steak I ordered with no grilled onions and made a point to say no grilled onions more than once, arrived in front of me with a cartoon amount of grilled onions on top of it, which again I did not make a big deal out of I simply got my fork and scoop the grill onions on to the small bread plate I was given and then handed that plate to our waitress thinking okay well I don't have to say it was wrong she should have realized but she said nothing about it no apologies no nothing whatever. Besides that the food was pretty good no complaints there it was just the lack of detail as far as the silverware goes and the paying attention to customer service and making sure that they are correct and they are happy that's where I would see some work needing done. And all that being said, I've worked in the food industry before and serve the people, so I know it's not the best."

"A really good old Texas Style steak house. The decore is very tastefully done in Western/Texas style. Full Bar area, Chloe is thier head bartender. She was very nice and took the time to say hi and introduce herself even though we were not seated at the bar. Debbie is the General Manager and she took time to talk to us while we where here as well. The place was crowded when we arrived on Friday night but they still had tables available and everything was clean and well organized. Drinks were a little slow in coming but they were seriously busy so I'm not faulting them for that. The wine bottle we had with dinner was excellent paired with the Angus Top Sirloins we both had and the steak was perfectly cooked and super tender. Had a excellent wood grilled flavor. The shrimp was golden and perfect as well they obviously cycle thier oil early to keep everything fried light and airy, another high mark in my book..Rachel was our server and was friendly and attentive though the noise level of the crowd made communication a little challenging. But again it was Friday night in the middle of the dinner rush and the place was seriously hopping... They are hiring if any one is looking for a waiting position. The main thing I'm going to say is for the quality of the food which was really good the tab was about 25% less then I would have expected from a mid to high end Steak house. So if your looking for a great dinner and at what I would deem extremely reasonable prices this is where you should find yourself dining in The Colony or the near surrounding area. They also had a very nice and expansive wine list to choose from another high mark as I find it difficult to really enjoy a great steak without pairing it with a good red wine Salt Grass has you covered.. We will be back soon. Thanks for a great evening!"
