"Really sad that I had to give this place 2 stars when it used to be our go to spot to watch the games and eat pizza on Sundays. Went today for the first time after holding out because of all the childish drama that unfolded on social media within the community that they serve and was so disappointed. All of the employees looked so confused like it was their first day on the job. The soda fountain had, I think, 2 working fountains but didn't have any ice. We ordered wings and jalapeño poppers to start... the wings came out in a decent time but the jalapeño poppers never showed up. Had to ask about them after waiting for 30 40 minutes. Once they came out, they were below average which is hard to do when it's just a frozen popper. A friend then ordered a side of fries and some wings... her fries came out but the wings never did. We had to ask about them and even after that, they had to be reminded again about them. The only thing that was okay was the pizza. It's not as good as it used to be but it was way better than all the other food. And last but not least; I have to assume this guy was the owner/highest employee he came into the restaurant with an entire Vons shopping cart (literally rolled it right into the restaurant as if he was still in the grocery store) full of soda cans and ice. And to top it all off, he was rocking a cigarette behind his ear. Super classy. I'm not saying this is or was a 5 star establishment but at least make it look like you care. Sucks but we won't be coming back again after today. Have been going since I was 8 but today killed it. Editing to add: the childish drama clearly has not passed because the owner can't even focus on his business even on yelp. If you read the portion of this page that the owner writes, he is still taking shots at whoever he thinks was stealing his business. So crazy. All of his old employees left for a reason and it seems pretty clear why they did."

"After a long day of work and a client event right after, my colleague suggested going to Louie. She was able to make a reservation for 9:30 but we were seated when we arrived at 8:50. I have only been to this place once and it was years ago, so I was excited to be back and try something new. While walking to our seats, I couldn't help but notice the mixture of aromas, all pleasant but piquant at the same time. This place is quaint and cozy but perfect for a nice dinner any day of the week. After browsing the menu, we decided to split an order of brussel sprouts and I chose the El Tigre for my cocktail. Each drink I've ever had with Mezcal has surprised me because aside from the smokiness, I never knew what to expect. This drink was perfect. It was smooth, not too smoky but perfectly balanced with the blood orange and lime. It also contains Angostura but I'm not sure I would have recognized it. Either way, it was super refreshing and I'd def. order it again. The brussel sprouts arrived after a little while and were just as I had hoped. Perfect char yet crispy, while seasoned with pecorino and lemon. I'm mad the picture I took came out blurry, because me telling you about them without seeing it doesn't do them justice. It was at that point we were given our complimentary bread and olive oil. Don't be deceived by the picture as it's a large block of bread! I'm unsure which seasonings they used on top but it def. has a kick, so beware. It's soft yet filling, so I'd suggest nibbling as to not get full before your entree. The olive oil was light and fresh and paired well with the bread, so well that I didn't even bother to ask for my normal balsamic and parm to accompany it. After we finished those, our entrees came. This was my first time ever eating Chitarra and I'm happy to announce it was a winner! The server said the chilli used for the sauce was Calabrian and does have a kick, so I opted for the smallest amount possible. The pasta was cooked perfectly al dente, and had the perfect ratio of sauce to noodle. Lest we forget the generous Parmesan cheese sprinkled on top, not too much to over power the dish but enough to complement it in the best way. The tomato sauce was bright and robust, bursting with flavors and this was the first time I could taste how fresh the tomatoes were. That def. made a difference. Since it was late, I only got a few bites and boxed the rest. It was probably best I tapped out when I did because I was still salivating over the brussel sprouts and the bites of pasta I had. By then, our server came and brought a dessert menu but we both declined. This was one of the best meals I've had in a while. The service was superb from start to finish and the ambiance was on par with everything you'd expect. I can't wait to come back."

"I placed an order to go and showed up right at the time given. They had 2/3 of the order ready. Obviously they missed part of it and had to cook it after realizing it. I totally understand that, even though there was some frustrations. I grabbed a beer at the barI waited and waited, I asked but still nothing. I asked again and finally they said it was done. They asked if I would like it brought to meI said yesagain I waited, finally got so frustrated of waiting I walked to the front to see what was going on. After asking they gave me my order. My frustration comes from a missed order and someone saying something but not following through. Period. I posted everything above before I tried the food. I had a terrible experience with a to go order and them messing it up. I felt like since things got messed up my order should have been a priority. I mean I was very understanding and accommodatingbut no. After trying the food I would absolutely not recommend it. Their meatballs might as well have been straight out of the freezer. The calzone was all bread and no filling. I live in the smallest mountain town possible in CO and could get wayyy better Italian food (pizza, pasta, meatballs and etc). I can’t express how terrible the meatballs were. I look forward to ordering meatballs from the two little mountain town restaurants where I liveI’m so disappointed in this place. I have given only one, maybe two, other reviews in my life, (granted it was negative) like this one. I eat at 1000 person fire camps (national catering, which isn’t typically any good) this place is worse. I’m sorry to be this bluntbut this place is a joke. "If you 're 30 minutes away from Monterey (or at Carmel , don 't bother looking around for food.. just go to Gusto! Seriously, I don 't understand why the place was empty when I went. The food was a solid 10/10 in terms of quality, price, and quantity. We got Calamari, Burrata e Prosciutto Pizza, and Linguini con Scampi. The calamari was crispy, not too salty, had a mild squid taste and wasn 't rubbery inside. If you made calamari before, or if you ordered Calamari at a lesser place, you 'd know the big difference in quality. The Burrata e Proscuitto pizza is very light in terms of flavor and heft. Most american pizza focuses on thickness, strong salty flavors, or extremely cheesy. Not this one! The basil on the pizza is light but noticable, and not overpowering. I lack the vocabulary to describe the burrata and proscuitto. I like how you can see them make the pizza from tossing the dough, slicing the proscuitto, and putting it in the wood oven. This is the MUST GET item here. It looks like a big serving, but really it 's light. 1 hungry person can solo this. Linguini con Scampi is also a must get if you want pasta. The pasta is firm, consistent, and not salty. It is the sauce that adds flavor to this dish. You know the sauce is good if you can see small chopped bits of garlic swimming in it. The SHRIMP (or Prawn..? is perfectly cooked. Like the squid earlier, you 'll instantly know this is top notch shrimp cooked without a flaw. The meat of the shrimp is not too firm, but also not mushy inside. It easily slides out the tail shell. Another MUST GET. It looks like a big serving but do not be intimidated!! The ambiance is in between upscale and italian mama cooking in the kitchen. They play italian opera and some older music, which really fit the ambiance. Nothing too loud and the volume was low enough to have a leisurely conversation without semi-shouting. The bathroom is clean, but only 1 stall/toilet for men."
