"Yaya Tea is always a reliable spot for affordable eats, great place for a quick bite in Chinatown!!Yaya Tea has multiple locations throughout the city. Yaya Tea on a corner of Grand Street is a bit smaller than other locations, especially in terms of seating. However, still perfect for grab-and-go if you're craving milk/fruit teas and onigiri! This location also offers self-service via Snackpass, which was super helpful in customizing our orders. My friends and I all ordered their signature Boyfriend drink (mango and lychee white tea) as well as their chicken riceball with spicy mayo. I ordered my drink with 50% sugar and with lychee jelly, and the drink turned out having a fairly strong tea flavor. It was less sweet than I expected, so I would probably increase it to 75% sugar next time. The lychee jelly was the perfect texture and had a satisfying snap. Their chicken riceball had a balanced ratio of rice to filling. The rice could have been seasoned more thoroughly--some of the rice was a bit mushy and lacked a crisp vinegary taste. I ordered the riceball in its small size, and it was still pretty filling! The spicy mayo, though definitely had a kick to it, was cold compared to the warm riceball, and I found this a bit off-putting. This order was still pretty cheap though, and service was relatively quick.Yaya Tea has been a nostalgic staple of mine for years and will continue to be. Though the food is not necessarily outstanding, it's still a pretty yummy bargain in Chinatown!"
