"What a terrible experience! The waiter didn’t catch my order, and there was hair in my food. When I raised my concerns, the staff acted dismissively. I decided to pay only for the meal and leave. When I went to settle the bill, I didn’t receive any compensation for the hair in my food. The man told me it was just an eyelash, so I shrugged it off and paid for my boyfriend's meal. Then he had the audacity to say there was no tip. As I was leaving, he started yelling for a dollar tip, which was very unprofessional. I ignored him and walked out. Overall, it was rude and unacceptable behavior, and I will never return to this restaurant. I recommend going to Casa Grande for much better food and service!"

"Love this restaurant and the food, but this time I didn't. I don't know if is a different chef, but the food didn't taste the same. My husband and I always order a Molcajete and appetizer to share, and this time the Molcajete was dry and no has tasty as it always been. Also the chorizo that was in the plate this time, look and taste more like Italian sausage instead of Mexican chorizo, which is really good, and my favorite, there was barely cheese and sauce as it usually is. So I came to the conclusion that is definitely not the same chef, maybe I am wrong but this time I didn't like the food. Everything else was good, music as always...exceptional!!!"

"just like all the others I've been going to this restaurant for over 40 years. I grew up on the street. this restaurant was like home to me with chile verde burritos. also after agustina leave us and then the family sold the business the recipes seem to be the same. on 3/19/22 I stop to get there 5 Burrito speciality, just for me. drove home 60 miles away and the burritos were still hot yes! when I started to eat a note that they looked smaller, then the taste was not there anyway in all fairness it was not bad, but I had better chile verde out of my local burritas market and much. marquez restaurant they lost their taste and a life long customer. you should have learned from the older guys who work there as I remember a few a long time ago."

"Horrible service. We got sit down right away, And we wait one hour and haft, we try to leave 3 times and the waiter holds us to wait that foos was coming. We got my mom and food first when we told him that we want our kids first, so it took almost two hours for cheese quesadilla?? The fajita was burn, verily the waiter came to check on us. Food incomplete, the manager said that they're short staff, but 3 tables came after us, aet and left. I'm so disappointed, bad food, bad service, please don't come here. Then they came and said that my daughter food wasn't order. You want to loose your time come here"

"I love this place! The best mariscos in all of Bellflower and Lakewood! Also their wet burritos are to die for!! Their service is excellent, the food is perfect! Their carne asada fries are delicious..BUUUT they have shoe string fries, like McDonald?s fries? wish they were a bit thicker but the flavor is bomb anyways."

"I have dined at San Jose several times and have always enjoyed the food and service, but today was a different experience. My wife and I both ordered the shrimp tacos. She had them before and loved them, but this time they were disappointing. Instead of whole shrimp, they were chopped up and mixed with rice, which seemed like a filler, and topped with sauce and shredded cheese. The flavor was very bland. The service was also lacking. The server took our drink order and delivered our drinks, then brought our food a few minutes later but didn't check on us until it was time to present the check. Speaking of the check, it was $2.00 over the menu price for each item and $2.75 for a glass of weak iced tea. Unfortunately, we will be searching for a new Mexican restaurant. I'm not sure if there's a new owner or management, but this place is not what it used to be just a couple of months ago, and it's a real shame."

"i would give this place zero stars if i could , i went to get food from this place ordered the food and had to use the bathroom really bad, i asked the old man if i could use the bathroom he said “No we don’t have bathroom” i said okay np. while waiting for my food a nice lady walked in and wanted a salad pizza slice there was none made but it takes at most 5 mins to add salad to the pizza she said can you make me one he said NO. Then the lady said quite a personality this man has … i was like yeah he’s full of no’s today i asked to use the bathroom he said “no we don’t have bathroom “ which didn’t make sense cuz they have a seating area so legally they are supposed to have a bathroom she said they do have a bathroom. so i told the man the lady said you do have a bathroom he goes yeah but no it’s not working . i left my food right there and walked out. the service was disgusting food didn’t even look good and the man’s attitude i cannot take no personality just full of no’s."

"Another place that I wish wasn 't like 400 miles from my home! Got a spicy chicken burrito called the California burrito. Unlike most places I get something that says it 's spicy , this one lived up to its name. It actually had some kick to the spicy salsa which was inside. Chips and salsa that was brought out the instant we sat down was fresh and flavorful! Wife got the Supreme Burrito Combo! Said it was definitely tasty! Each had a alcoholic beverage with our meal as well and for the value, you can 't beat it! They have multiple sizes for each drink and they are actually extremely affordable for how big and delicious they were! Definitely a must for Mexican food!"

"This is a Restaurant we go to every two weeks. Today we were Greeted and given worst table right near the door despite open tables. We did not ask to be moved as I was incredulous that the matre d would put us there. Later I realized this would not work and asked to move but was told couldn’t be accommodated. Wife is asthmatic and after over 2 hours of the door opening and with many people coming in (it was Valentine’s Day so many were caked in perfume), evening was a disaster. Because of this and because of table location, wife had asthma attack later in evening as we left. Did not require a hospital visit but bad nonetheless. We have always thought this restaurant had great food but everything else from wine list to service to speed of being served was below average, after today we will not go back and will tell our friends to avoid this restaurant. Thank God my wife is OK from the asthma attack."

"If you enjoy being served by immature staff, this might be the place for you! While the food is usually quite good, the service leaves much to be desired. Our most recent experience was particularly frustrating, as the server seemed more focused on how much extra food he could get for his friends who were in front of us, rather than attending to our order. Despite requesting chips and queso multiple times, they were never prepared. By the time we reached the register and asked again, of course, they were out, and a new batch would take quite a while. It seems like he had given the extra queso to his friends for free. The manager on duty did attempt to rectify the situation by offering us a couple of coupons, but unfortunately, that didn’t make up for the subpar service we encountered and have repeatedly witnessed at this restaurant."

"The food was good, although I found it a bit under-seasoned for my liking. I'm accustomed to Arizona-style Mexican cuisine, so I realize that in the East, dishes might be milder to cater to local tastes. Overall, I enjoyed the meal, and the portion sizes were quite generous. The prices were reasonable, especially given the excellent service we received. We even had enough leftovers for another meal, enjoyed a couple of drinks, and ended up spending less than $50. That’s a great deal these days!"

"1) The bolillos were good, but not the best I've had. Their texture became rough by the next day. 2) The conchas were moist, with plenty of air pockets and a generous crinkle topping. Conchas often end up too dry and crumbly (overbaked), but these were among the best I've tried, even though they aren't my first choice. 3) The rest of the breads were delicious (my husband particularly loved the empanada de fresa cajeta), and they held up well for 2-3 days when stored in a tightly sealed Tupperware. I plan to return to try more types of bread, like polvorones, and I'm also interested in ordering a cake since the reviews are fantastic. They mentioned that cake orders require a day's notice and that they can create cakes based on inspiration photos. I can't believe how affordable it is! I spent $11 instead of the $25 I would have paid at Mexico Bakery. I'm definitely making the switch, even though this bakery is farther away than Mexico Bakery."
