"Four of us looking for seafood somewhere in the Castro. This is the place. Prices are reasonable, friendliest waiter ever, great recommendations, a good time had by all. We snagged one of the two outdoor tables. So sad they had to give up their Parklet. After hearing all the options, all four of us ordered the Cioppino. As our waiter explained, it was invented in San Francisco. I looked it up: According to Avital Tours... Cioppino is a tomato-based seafood stew that was invented by the San Francisco Italian fishermen of North Beach in the late 1800s using whatever seafood was leftover from the day 's catch. The Cioppino did not disappoint. Too much broth for me, but not so for my companions. Luckily it came with two generous pieces of garlic bread, which should be mandatory for dipping. Did anyone say dessert? Oh no, I couldn 't said I. He says I 'll order if you order. Well, let 's split something- so we each ordered our own dessert. Brioche bread pudding was delish, ditto vanilla crème brûlée. Excellent vanilla bean ice cream. In closing, great meal. The outdoor seating is on a wide sidewalk on Market Street, off Castro, great for people watching, or as my extrovert friend enjoyed- saying hi to all the pretty boys. Catch is a great place for groups, and whomever you bring, the dark lighting inside makes everyone look good."
