"on Sunday, the 5th sept., we had reserved 4 at 12:45. we have morning and dinner menu. the food was delicious and very tasty. but the service was terrible, we waited for 1h 15m for our food. the towel napkins and the area was dirty, the esstic are too dirty and table settings were too tight for comfort. I'm glad we tried the place, but don't come back or recommend it to everyone."

"My family and I enjoyed a late lunch at Peli Peli in the Woodlands today. Our experience was nothing short of AMAZING! The food was excellent and the presentation of the food was very well done. Our server “Lindy” provided the very best service possible and her interaction with us made the experience unforgettable. Lindy accurately answered our questions about the food and even made suggestions that could not have been better. Lindy took the time to make my family feel special and treated us with hospitality that we’ve not experienced in a very long time. I’ve noticed that service at many restaurants has declined lately, but not at Peli Peli. If you want a great meal with great service, you should give this place a try. I give Peli Peli my highest recommendation and I don’t usually write reviews. Thank you Lindy for such a great experience and we enjoyed learning about South Africa."

"Enjoyed the Houston Restaurant Week menu. Had a reservation and dining room was about full. But the dining rooms were completely full and tables turning quickly when we left. Because of that the noise level was very high. Also, two of the featured items as part of the HEW menu was not available. The bobotie was available al a cart. The chocolate Lekker tarts were out at on Sunday. Also, the sides on the Espetadas were different from description. But food was excellent snd service was great. Server indicated that they were just swamped. Enjoyed it all."

"The food at this restaurant is amazing and the service is friendly and engaging. The dishes are creative and made with incredibly fresh ingredients. We enjoyed everything we tried and found that the portion sizes were just right for trying a variety of dishes while still feeling satisfied. The only downside is if you choose to dine outdoors in their covered shed, try to avoid busy times to fully enjoy your experience."

"The service at this restaurant was extremely terrible. My grandfather had called an hour before our arrival to request a table, but when we got there, all the tables were dirty and no one greeted us or provided menus. Despite waiting for about 30 minutes and politely conversing with our family, none of the staff acknowledged us. Another table, who was already eating, even expressed frustration towards the servers on our behalf. The manager, a woman, got into an argument with that table, citing being short-staffed as an excuse. However, their explanation did not excuse the poor treatment we received. It was evident that the staff did not care about their customers or the cleanliness of the restaurant. Unfortunately, we did not even get a chance to try the food as we were not seated. The staff's unfriendly attitude and unprofessional behavior left a lasting negative impression on us. It is disappointing that they treated us and our grandparents so coldly."

"Perhaps, an unexpected place to find fantastic tacos: a high end bodega in East Austin. But let me assure you, they are fantastic. I had been there five times for other various sundries (a bottle of water, some kombucha, a highly coveted can of Lysol in the heat of the pandemic, before I realized that they even had tacos. The line cooks are hard working, the counter staff is more or less friendly, and they offer a kombucha on tap. The Hackberry Taco (basically a Migas Taco plus avocado and poblano peppers is tried and true each bite better than the last. I've been here for tacos about ten times and they're always consistent. Also, their Vegan Taco and the Fried Avocado are both great options if you've missed the Breakfast Menu window. Also, you'll find an exceptionally delicious variety of fresh salsas here. With PaperBoy and Hillside Farmacy both right across the street, Quickie Pickie tacos are a great brunch alternative if you happen to be shut out of the other two spots on a busy Sunday morning. The crowd is a hybrid between old austin hippie and new austin hipster. It's a nice balance. It looks like it may have opened around 2013 but to me, this feels like an Austin staple.
