"It was an anniversary celebration and we wanted something special. We pulled the reviews from the web as we searched for a place. The reviews we found to mirror our own experience. The Tchefuncte had a wonderful ambiance enhanced by a very tranquil view of the River. I searched the ceiling for a hint of why our alcove was so quiet. A lot of engineering had to go into making each table a quiet oasis for casual conversations with dear friends. And although we often needed a translator for some of the dishes, the waiter and waitress assigned us for the evening were so helpful and happy to guide us through choices. The steak and lamb chops lived up to the waiter's vivid description. Our only regret was we did not save room for the intriguing dessert selections. We will return and move from the wonderful turtle soup straight to the desserts."

"Well to be honest the only thing I would change is making the price lower for it is rather expensive. However as close to worth it as you could hope for. How they are related to the red fox in Middletown I have no idea for Middletown is trash. The Cheshire location is golden food drink and service wise. If ur looking for a place for a special occasion and some top quality dining this is the spot for you. We had the tomahawk steak for 2 with three sides and let me tell you, best steak I’ve had in quite a while and I eat an unhealthy amount of red meat."

"we had a reservation of 545pm to make sure that we could enter the ramona mainstage before 7pm, but were not able to order until after 6pm. the kitchen was secured so that we did not make it to the venue until they did not choose their places. everyone was apologetic for the waiting period and we had no cause for a dirty one, but I think maybe they need more help for the bigger upcoming shows. we always have a good service from armando, but I think that the night was something unorganized. we will be back, but hope for faster service and better seats in the venue"

"My wife and I were really excited to visit this restaurant. I made reservations for her birthday to try it For the 1st time. I showed up a little late, But they still allowed us to get seated quickly, which was nice. It took our waitress a little bit to get to us as they were at capacity, but she was very nice and attentive once she arrived. She took our drink orders and all the drinks were really good. I had a watermelon mojito and my wife had a fruit sangria. Where things started to fall apart was the wait time. It took a long time to get food to us. She even miss-recommended splitting a wedge salad. I asked if it was big enough to share and she said, yes, it was a good size. When it came to us it was probably the smallest salad I have ever eaten. Definitely not big enough to share. It was delicious and had I had a full order, it would have been perfect. We started with the appetizers which my son and I had shrimp cocktail. That was really good except for they hide all the cocktail sauce in lettuce in a cup and it makes it very difficult to dip the shrimp in lettuce mixed with cocktail sauce. The next course we got was was clam chowder for me and my wife ordered French onion soup. My wife's French onion soup was absolutely fantastic. Probably the best I've ever had flavor-wise. The only issue was the temp of the soupbwas not hot enough. As if it had sat a good while before coming out. My clam chowder was one of the worst I've ever had. It was very chocky and full of large lumps of flour. Due to the small salad size and my lack of taste for the soup, I opted to order a steak Burger for the next day or if I was still hungry at the end of our dinner. For her entree my wife ordered a filet mignon with French fries. She felt it was slightly overcooked but I thought it looked about what she ordered. By that point we had shared enough food that we were both fairly full and had just enough room for dessert. For dessert I ordered bread pudding and she had the creme Brule. Both were really good and my son opted to share my bread pudding with me so I had a few bites and shared the creme brule with my wife. Overall it was a good meal and good experience it's not likely we'll go back. Although my wife's soup was phenomenal it came out a little hotter than room temperature and that kind of put her off even though the taste was very flavourful. The service was excellent and the hostess and staff were all very nice, but the prices were prices were 5 star dining prices and I would give this restaurant roughly 3 and a 1/2 stars or maaaaybe 4. If they made small tweaks it would be a solid 4. Maybe we came on amnoff day. Who knows. If we do return it would be for appetizers and for sure the French onion soup and drinks. Side note, when I got home I checked my steak Burger and they got it wrong and gave me a steak and fries instead. Almost forgot my son, he ordered Mac and cheese and it was absolutely phenomenal as well so that was a plus. Sorry for the half eaten food pics. I generally try and remember to take pics but I was distracted by my beautiful wife lol."

"Best Kosher restaurant!!! Sushi is incredible and meats are top quality!! The mushroom soup is always a favorite, great beef jerky and good desserts (they change them up every so often) but chocolate molten cake and the mango and coconut sorbet are delicious!! Also great service and ambience, cab request to sit in the room where you see the kitchen..Always leave very happy!!"

"I'm a regular who visits this restaurant five times a month and usually loves it. However, tonight (April 17), my server seemed more focused on taking smoke breaks than on providing us with good service or refills. It felt like she wasn’t interested in offering us dessert either, as she was preoccupied while we were waiting. On the positive side, the food was great—the steak was cooked perfectly. However, our shrimp nachos had very few toppings; they could have used more chips."

"100% DO NOT GO! It was so bad, we left before drinks! First off, we reserved a table for a large party weeks before the event and even called to confirm the day of to which they just gave away to some other party before we got there! They wanted us to sit at multiple booths back to back but that’s clearly not what a party would want to do when you came to socialize together. Then they offered to put tables together but because our party was too big for two tables together, a couple people had to sit at a neighboring booth which was extremely awkward. Plus the host was a very rude man. My husband and I were the last to enter out of the group and as we were walking to the table, the host was very short with us and almost shoved the menus and silverware to us (which surprised me wasn’t at the table already since most places automatically bring the whole table those things first). We ordered drinks to which never came within 20-30 minutes of waiting. The place seemed very dirty and ran down and at that point, we didn’t want to risk food poisoning so we all cancelled our drink orders and left after 40 minutes of this. We had to search for a last minute place for our birthday dinner. Very unhappy."
