"Ordered a chicken fajita salad, no tomatoes, guacamole on the side, with extra sour cream and a burrito tornado. The pictures of the menu online are not accurate, so I was caught off guard when I picked up the food and heard the total. Also, the menu says the Burrito Tornado has “steak, chicken, shrimp, and bacon with vegetables, rice, and cheese sauce on top.” All other items on the menu specify whether there’s tomatoes or not. Also, since tomatoes are a fruit, we assumed that “with vegetables” did not include tomatoes. The salad had minimal traces of white queso on the bottom. There was barely any chicken, onions or green peppers, and just one dollop of sour cream on top. There was quite a bit of lettuce and shredded cheese. Neither meals had any flavor. It didn’t even taste like there was salt on either meal. Furthermore, the meat, onions, or bell peppers in both meals did not have any sear marks nor did they look/taste like they were actually cooked in a pan or on a grill. The chicken reminded me of the premade chicken you get in a bag. It really seemed like they just warmed up these ingredients and put them together—it did not look or taste like they had been freshly cooked. Although the employees were very nice on the phone when we ordered, and when we picked up the food—it doesn’t make up for the below par food. After a few bites of my salad, I tossed it and just opted to make myself a pb&j. I don’t ever take the time to give reviews, but it was extremely disappointing to spend $32 and some odd cents on two meals that I could’ve made at home for a fraction of the price with double the flavor. "I recently had the pleasure of dining at San Marcos Mexican Grill, and let me tell you, it was an experience that left my taste buds doing the salsa! Now, let's dive into the delicious details of this culinary adventure. First up, the shrimp tacos. Oh boy, they were like a flavor fiesta exploding in my mouth! The shrimp themselves were bigger than life, probably the size of my excitement when I saw them. Each succulent bite was a testament to the sea's generosity, perfectly cooked and bursting with juiciness. I couldn't help but marvel at how the delicate flavors of the shrimp danced harmoniously with the vibrant toppings and the warm embrace of the tortilla. It was a match made in culinary heaven! But that's not all; let's talk about the steak fajitas that transported me to another dimension of taste. The sizzling platter arrived at my table, and the aroma alone was enough to make my mouth water. The perfectly grilled steak was tender, juicy, and seasoned to perfection. Every slice was a tantalizing treasure, delivering a symphony of flavors with each chew. The fajitas were accompanied by a colorful array of sautéed peppers and onions, adding a delightful crunch and sweetness to the already mouthwatering dish. I could almost hear a mariachi band playing in the background as I savored every heavenly bite. Now, let's not forget the pièce de résistance—the really hot sauce. If you're a fan of spicy food, this sauce is your holy grail. Be prepared to have your taste buds set ablaze! This fiery concoction is not for the faint of heart, but for those brave enough to venture into the realms of heat and flavor. The first drop sent shockwaves through my entire being, awakening every dormant taste receptor and leaving me with a tingling sensation that I can only describe as a culinary awakening. But be warned, my friend: approach this sauce with caution, for it is not to be taken lightly! In conclusion, San Marcos Mexican Grill is a gastronomic gem that delivers flavors with a side of laughter. From the shrimp tacos that were bursting with flavor and larger than life, to the out-of-this-world steak fajitas that transported me to a culinary paradise, every dish was a testament to the skill and passion of the chefs. And don't forget to ask for the really hot sauce if you dare to embark on a spicy adventure. So, grab your sombrero and head over to San Marcos Mexican Grill for a truly unforgettable dining experience. Buen provecho! Kid-friendliness: Kids will love it"

"I just had the worst restaurant experience in my 43 years on this earth!!! My wife picked this place to eat for her birthday after seeing it on the morning blend. It started out good. We were seated immediately and received warm chips and 3 types of salsa, which were all very good. We had our 10, 8 and 4 year old with us to celebrate mommy's birthday. We saw the Wednesday night special was a free kids meal with each paid adult meal. Nice unexpected bonus! We ordered our drinks, the original margaritas were good. We placed our order and were given more warm chips and offered more salsa, which we declined because we ordered the guacamole appetizer. Then things got bad. The guacamole came out 30 seconds before our food. Our 10 and eight year olds received huge plates of enchiladas, my wife got her food with all rice and no beans despite asking for the opposite. I got all my fajitas fixing but no tortillas and we still had not been given silverware and napkins. My wife immediately asked about the kids plates of enchiladas, and was told there were not enchaladas on the kids menu. When the waitress brought the menu and we showed her the kids menu had enchaladas, she started arguing with us. My wife asked for a manager and we were told there was not one there tonight. The argument continued with the waitress who wanted to take one of our kids plates away. At that point I wanted to salvage our night and told them to just leave it alone. Unfortunately, my wife was upset they did not get her order right. Not only did she not get her beans, they did not put any in her burrito even though the menu said it would have beans. At this point our waitress swore in spanish, something my ten year old pointed out immediately. Despite being a white family, my kids have plenty of Hispanic friends. Their best friends from the neighborhood are Hispanic and I'm sure they have heard those words before. After that our waitress ignored us until she had to come offer us boxes and give us a bill. The food was average at best. When I got the bill is when I really started to get mad. They had charged us full price for everything including the one kids meal our 4 year old got. I showed them the sign on the table about a free kids meal. They then took my credit card to the register while 3 people discussed it with the waitress denying she did anything wrong. At this point I walked over there and suggested I call the police to moderate the overcharge on my bill!!! Yes it got that bad! Finally one guy took charge, he came to our table and tried to explain that he was taking off the charges for the adult enchaladas my kids got. Before he could, my wife who was shaking, let him hear her story again, while I tried to tell her to stop. She was upset because my daughter had got so upset her stomach hurt. It was a total nightmare, but not over yet. After fixing the bill I reluctantly gave the waitress my debit card. She came back and said the Internet was down and the whole block was affected, but I could use the ATM by the men's room. I immediately said it would not work either, but felt desperate and went to try. Of course there was a $3 fee. It did not work, so a least I was not being scammed. Problem was I had to leave my wife and kids there while I drove in search of an ATM. In the meantime my wife had to deal with 3 antsy kids a guy who kept begging her to give the restaurant another try. He said they were going to fire the waitress. My wife made it clear over and over she did not want anyone to get fired. Before you assume I am a complainer, I will let you know that I have never sent food back at a restaurant, and have only complained a few times. Most of the time the waiter or waitress fixed it and in one case we received free appetizers from a manager who went above and beyond for a small comment. I just joined Yelp tonight based on this horrible night. I now I plan to give positive reviews when I have a good experience, because I will no longer take it for granted."
