"I went here last night to see my buddy's band play. We were a group of six guys, an older bunch just looking to enjoy the band, have a couple of beers, and relax. Upon approaching the bar, we were immediately directed to sit at a table. We explained that we were fine for the time being and just wanted to hang at the bar to grab a drink and wait for the rest of our party. That's when the trouble began. The woman behind the bar, who turned out to be the manager, rudely told us we couldn't stand there. Confused, we clarified if she meant at the bar? She said yes we can't stand at the bar and pushed us towards a bar table. When she saw two of us standing at the table she repeated that we had to sit down. Eventually, we settled at a table by the band, but two of us stood out of the way to watch the band. Again, she approached us and told us to sit down, when told that two of us didn’t want to due to back issues she then very nastily told us she was the manager emphasizing her authority and mentioning that the bartender was the owner's wife.We attempted to explain our situation, highlighting our desire to simply watch the band and two of us having back issues. She then got the bouncer. He was accommodating and clearly uncomfortable with the situation, offering an apology for the inconvenience and suggesting we stand by the ATM machine. This woman was rude and has no business managing a play date, let alone a bar! She acted like she was in the Gestapo and clearly felt the need to throw her authority around. She is certainly not helping that business. The bouncer even apologized again outside when we were taking a smoke break, mentioning the manager's consistently unpleasant demeanor. This place could be fantastic, but due to the manager's behavior, it has lost our business, and I am sure she has caused the bar to lose the business of others. As a result of her attitude we left early and went around the corner to Tommy's Tavern and Tap. That place was fantastic, staff was friendly and they clearly wanted our business. I would recommend trying Tommy's before going to Elixir. ELIXIR IS NOT NOT A FRIENDLY PLACE, TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE, NOT RECOMMENDED!!!!!!!!!"
