"We went to Jonathan’s for the dinner premium seating comedy club. The waiter was very nice and the food was very good. Only negatives were that when I ordered a salad with my entree, I was given a large entree size salad. When the check came, the charge for the salad was higher than what I expected. The waiter said that they have a smaller salad but I didn’t ask for it (so he took it upon himself to give me the larger size). Second negative was the so called $25 voucher for dessert coffee/drinks at the bar before the show. I expected to be able to order 2 things for $25 (like a piece of cake and one cocktail). No, I was told you get either a (small) piece of cake with coffee or one drink! Not worth $25! My wife got the carrot cake and it tasted like it was from a low level food store. We didn’t even finish eating it thinking it wasn’t worth the calories! I got one cocktail and it was a small plastic cup filled with ice and little liquid. I wrote this to inform others. If someone else posted this I would have been prepared to deal with these issues. I would say that I want the appetizer size salad and wouldn’t pay extra for the $25 voucher for the show. Other than those things it was a nice place to go."

My husband’s meal was excellent cooked to order seafood medley on pasta. My diver scallops were okay smallish and too much bread crumbs and butter. Very noisy.

This restaurant is fantastic! Our group of 5, including 3 visitors from out of town, all had a great experience and thoroughly enjoyed our meals. I highly recommend this place!

I discussed here a few times before and it's a great restaurant with a beautiful ambience. But this visit, they put our group in a banquet room above and it felt cheap. They had live music for us and the food was great and served quickly, but the wow was lost because the atmosphere was not in place.

We have visited Jonathan's numerous times, consistently enjoying delicious dinners and attentive service. Even though we were not staying in Ogunquit this year, we made sure to make reservations at Jonathan's before our trip. Although there was no live music during our most recent visit, it was not a big deal, as it is like missing a small design on top of your coffee drink - just an added bonus to the overall experience. The bread and service was excellent. Got the Maine seafood pasta. This was tasty but the lobster tail was like eating two pieces of rubber. For $49 this is unacceptable. My wife had the baked scallops which was cooked perfectly but had very littleflavor. The crumbs on top didn't help the dish at all. For $35 we expected better. I would suggest having the owner visitScales in Portland to see what quality is supposed to be at that price point. We will not be returning.

Food was delicious, everything was pretty, but the waiter had extremely shortage. He pretended to be dumb when he first came and had a good laugh at our expense with the table next to us. I got a dirty dish for the rolls and asked for another, but never got one and could not try the rolls and brown bread. He seemed to be aware of his lack of Luster performance when he even apologized to us to spend so much time with another table that celebrated its anniversary. Pasta was very good better than a very well-known Italian restaurant in the city and the salmon was also excellent.

Celebrated my partners 64th birthday here. Was taken care of very nicely. Our waiter from Jamaica was new to waiting, he did a very nice job and was excellent with all his customers. All the food was excellent with one exception. I had the Maine SeafoodPasta, the flavor and presentation was wonderful but my lobster and shrimp where tough and hard to eat. I think my meal wasunder a heat lamp a little longer than usual since other parties that had the same meal looked so wonderful. For a meal thatcost almost 50 dollars it was disappointing. Again I think it was not the norm. Our guest check was $319 including the $60gratuity we left. This was our first time here. Over all a wonderful restauran...

We arrived there for an early dinner, around 5 PM. It was not busy in the dining room yet and we appeared to be the only table that our waiter had at the time. The waiter did not mention his name. The food came out promptly. I had wanted steak sauce formy Shepherds pie after I first tasted it it lacked flavor). The waiter did not come by again until were almost finished ourmeals. I told him about wanting the steak sauce but it was too late by then since I was almost finished. The meal was also wayoverpriced. How can you justify charging $31 for Shepherds pie? At that price it should have been perfect but I have had muchbetter elsewhere. The waiter also struggled with settling our bill. He ha...

"My dad ordered the penne pasta with added lobster, but it was overwhelmingly garlicky — all he could taste was garlic. He found the aftertaste to be unpleasant and immediately reached for gum to try to mask the awful flavor it left behind. My mother felt that the Portuguese seafood melody lacked flavor this time; it usually has a nice spiciness and a rich broth, but this time it was bland and almost watery. At least the seafood was cooked perfectly, so that’s a positive. My pasta was decent, but it felt oilier than usual, which was odd, though the flavor was still good. My brother couldn’t order his usual dish because the bar menu is now only available outside or at the bar. Previously, there was never a problem ordering from that menu in the dining area. It seems they’ve changed the rules, which is disappointing. On a positive note, the atmosphere is still nice; the tables are well spaced, and the noise level is comfortable. They dim the lights later in the evening, and each table has a lit candle, creating a pleasant ambiance. The restaurant is also very clean and well maintained. Our waitress was polite but felt a bit distant; she didn’t check on us throughout the meal, which would have given us a chance to express our concerns. Finally, I recommend making a reservation! We've been turned away in the past for not having one, and I'm not sure if their policy has changed or if they still require reservations only. It's better to be safe, so I’d suggest booking in advance if you plan to eat here. Overall, I'm not in a rush to return, but who knows, maybe in the future we might give it another try."
