"I encountered an issue with an online special that they didn't seem to know about. I ended up having to speak with a manager and show him their own website just to get the deal, which was a bit pointless at that stage. The food was decent but nothing to rave about, and I found it a bit overpriced. Our table felt like it was practically in the parking lot, and the loud music made it really hard to have a conversation. Am I satisfied? Not at all. I’d prefer to eat at Taco Bell instead of this place."

"we stopped here when we hoped it would be good. we were completely blown away with eating. it is truly authentic Mexican cuisine. the tortillas and the chips are made fresh in the restaurant. the tortillas are the best I've ever tried. the flan is also authentic, very good. Whenever we get through, we will stop again. they also have several other locations throughout the opposite."

"Seafood Cocktail to die for!!!!!!!!. The first time I ate here, I had a mofongo and it was great! But their menu has such a wide variety of other foods, I've been going back and trying new things every time!!<br/ <br/ A friend recommended I try their seafood cocktail and it was delicious. Can you say FRESH crab??? Not imitation!! Seriously, if you like seafood you have to try their seafood cocktail. Heavenlyyy!!!<br/ <br/ My friend ordered their steak and it's an actual premium great quality cut of meat for almost 1/2 the price you'd get at a fancy steakhouse...<br/ <br/ and I can't forget the free pina colada they give you right when you sit down..<br/ <br/ I didn't eat outside on the patio this time, but it is really worth mentioning. It's such a relaxing place to eat--kinda gives you the feeling of escaping the city. There's this huge tree in the middle that gives it an oasis-type vibe. Another bonus-you can't hear the bustling noise of the outside traffic, etc AT ALL.<br/ <br/ Best Dominican food, hands down."

"I was looking forward to $1.25 margs and free queso after reading some reviews and tips. Must have been some old specials for Jalepenos because we didn't find such deals and steals. Regardless, we shared a large $7 marg. Basic. Added some white queso quac; both yummy. And then shared a burrito plate which fed us both. Appeared to be a party space in the basement since we saw lots of food, drinks, balloons boxes of diapers making their way down the stairs. Great party option, don't take my word for it. Chill spot for snacks in Tongy!"

"I visited this restaurant again after several months and ordered my usual: a grilled shrimp salad. Unfortunately, I noticed that the quality of the food has declined over the years compared to when they first opened. The reason for my long absence was primarily due to issues with their drinks. My entire group ordered top-shelf alcohol for our cocktails, but after tasting them, we realized we didn’t receive what we had ordered. I ended up feeling extremely ill and couldn’t even leave the parking lot before getting sick, and another guest had a similar experience. If you’ve ever made cocktails with cheaper versus higher-quality alcohol, you know how noticeable the difference in taste is and how quickly it can lead to intoxication. Overall, the food is decent for a small town, but I can't overlook the drink situation."

"Went on a Saturday evening and it was quite packed; a lively crowd with music playing in the background and baseball game on tv's. I ordered camarafongo (mofongo with shrimp) with a garlic sauce which I enjoyed for the most part. Wish there had been more sauce, but the plaintain with chicharron (pork) was the most enjoyable part of the dish; the plaintain was soft, great texture and very tasty. The dish contained only 6 shrimp and were not the really good jumbo shrimp which I would have preferred. They tasted rather bland, seeming a bit overcooked. I was disappointed that for the price of the dish, they did not offer some nice fresh bread and butter before the main course arrived. For hand towels, there were just regular napkins; no hand sanitizers were offered for wiping your hands after eating a meal you have to partially use your hands and fingers for. The decor of the place definitely could use a revamping; there are old unattractive pieces of art on the walls that do nothing at all to lift up the ambience of the place and the lighting is old and outdated as well. I was surprised because they seem to do good business, but it seems as if these features are not important at all. I was even more surprised when I had to go downstairs to use the ladies restroom and the hand soap was in a large plastic 1 gallon bottle with a dispenser! The bottle looked like the container the soap actually came in when purchased. Not sure if having attractive looking soap dispensers might be an invitation for someone to want to take it home with them? Lastly, I ordered a tiramisu for dessert which I decided to take home with me. I must say I definitely enjoyed the dessert and was glad I decided to order it as we were waiting for the bill. I might consider going again, but would probably try something different. Even though the quality of the food is what counts, it would be nice if they had a facelift done to their place!"

"I believe the food I had was not the best represention of what they have or that I might have just ordered something they don't do well. I come from California and know good Mexican, this was worse than taco bell. I ordered the bean burrito, enchilada, and quesadilla. First of all they didn't include beans in my bean burrito and only cheese, I think they misunderstood me when I asked to add cheese. But they put so much in it, it was pretty gross. They remade this for me and I was also disappointed in the remake. Everything tasted canned none of the food tasted fresh. Absolutely nothing was special about the food. Not the beans, the sauce, the tortilla. You can get this exact meal at any random hole in the wall Mexican restaurant and have it taste the exact same. The cheese tasted like pre shredded cheese. Nothing was fresh. The service was not that great. My server was okay, but the other bartenders saw me make eye contact with them and they continued to ignore me even when I said something. It wasn't busy, they were training... But they didn't do this once to me but three times. I felt I could have been on and out faster if the attention to the customer was more alert. I also have a background in the food industry, you don't ignore customers like that. The ambiance is much better than the food and service. And it was at least clean. The bathroom was very clean and stocked."

I have fond memories of dining at El Agave and then heading to the Blockbusters nearby, which shows just how long this establishment has been a staple in our community. "We spent the day in the Bishops Arts area. Stopped in Enzo's with a party of 6 for pizza. We had salads, artichoke dip and pizza. The bartender was very friendly. The waiter was attentive. The artichoke dip was good, totally different than the usual, salads were fresh, the pizza is more of a flat bread. It is like pizza toppings on a cracker. It was a nice change and everyone enjoyed it but it was not the usual pizza. The atmosphere is lively and the restaurant has a great location. We had a good time and would come again."

"Don Julios has the most friendly staff and the coldest beer. You will change any order as you want. Some of the foods are a bit salty, but I think that's how normal people like it. The menu is huge with many possibilities. The sleepers in the stands and the floors are not always clean, but the delicious foods and good atmosphere make up for it. Your salsa and queen are amazing. We go here regularly."

"I really enjoyed my ground beef chimichanga. The salsa was tasty, although I would have preferred it with less of a vinegar flavor. Our waiter did a great job, especially since he was also taking care of two outside tables in addition to other tables inside. We didn't know about the call-ahead wait list, so we ended up waiting just under 30 minutes for a table for two on a Friday night (we arrived at around 7:40)."

"We used to enjoy this restaurant until we had an issue with the food. I never eat beef, and my taco salad had beef in it. I had already started eating it before realizing due to the dim lighting. The staff gave a half-hearted apology and I had to wait for my food to be recooked. However, they never came back to check on us. At that point, I couldn't even eat because I was afraid of getting sick. Thankfully, I am not allergic to beef. Mistakes happen, but at least show that you care about the mistake. After dining here for three years, we will not be returning. The service was terrible, as I had to go to the counter to get a to-go box and the check."
