"I had the Brisket Taco and the Shrimp taco. The Brisket taco was amazing and it's my favorite so far. The Shrimp taco was not good. The Shrimp was cold and old, like it had been sitting out for hours. I'm gonna give it another chance though. There are so many things to choose from. It was hard to pick just 2. There is an Acholic beverage bar here and drink specials. I absolutely love this place. The staff is friendly and fast. You can sit and have a beer or cocktail while you wait on your food. They use the beeper coasters so you'll know when your order is ready. Cool lunch spot for sure. Enjoy!"

"I would highly recommend this place! It has a fantastic atmosphere and stylish decor. It operates in a fast-casual style, so you place your order at the counter, and the food is brought to your table. Initially, the tacos may seem a bit pricey at $5 to $6 each, but they are quite large, and the portion of protein in each taco is generous, making them worth the cost. My husband’s taco even came with an entire sausage! We also tried the chips and queso, which were excellent. We didn’t order any drinks, but they looked great and were reasonably priced. The bar inside is really impressive too. Be sure to check this place out!"

"So I recently started to go to Torchys midtown on the corner of Rosedale and Forest Park. Since I have been going, Stormy has been the bartender and I have an issue with the spouse coming over and sitting at the bar while she is working and disturbing her. What really disgusted me this one particular time is when Stormy’s husband ordered some chips and queso, I ordered a drink and before she served my drink she helped herself to some of her husbands chips and queso, licked her fingers and then proceeded to serve my drink without washing her hands, really?????? On the other hand, Savon, another bartender I have been served by is constantly washing his hands and is always putting on and regularly changing his latex gloves. This is the example of a food service employee Stormy should model herself after. I am so disappointed at the food service behavior that Stormy has exemplified. So now, I still go to Torchy’s from time to time, but only when Savon or Mike is bartending."

"Torchy's has been pretty balanced so far. I almost always wait to post a review until I have been there at least 3 times so I can more accurately judge the service. The tacos are always fresh and very good. Big fan of the Brushfire tacos. Good heat and good combo of flavors. The ambiance is relaxed and serves friends or families. They get 4 stars because 3/4 times we have been there the bar did not get the drink order from the counter so 2 of the times I had to go to the bar and ask for the drink and the bartender said the ticket doesn't always print. The 3rd time the drink had to be refunded. I would either not take drink orders at the counter or fix the issue with the breakdown between the counter and the bar and then I could do 5 stars."

"The food was pretty good however the burritos are rolled really weird and that you have meat at the beginning and the end but not in the middle. The cheese didn't even get a chance to melt. The tacos were good and made correctly. The juice drinks were refilled and up-to-date. The service was great however people who got there after us were served before us. Not sure what the holdup was on the tacos and a burrito but they were made well other than the comments listed above.We would go here again but I think the location in Flower Mound is much better."

"The frozen sangria swirl is crazy good! Definitely stole the show (and that says a lot because the tacos are next level! . I was impressed with how big this place is! There's outdoor seating as well which is perfect for a cool day like today. I had the trailer park (trashy and brush fire tacos...both were very flavorful and delicious! The tortillas were a challenge to close (which is a good thing lol . The tomatillo salsa is well balanced; not overly salted or spicy. The chips are light and crispy. Service was fantastic and I couldn't walk out without leaving a cash tip for the amazing experience. I will most definitely come back!"

"So at first I was taken back by the fact that they do not have hard shell tacos. Like really? You're a taco place and everything softshell? But then I ate the yummy food!! It was totally worth it!! I got the cougar of the month, because it made me giggle and laugh! It was pretty dang good! And the girl behind the counter was amazing! Holy cow! What a sweet girl! It's a little pricey for how tiny the tacos are, but they were completely and totally delicious! Basically more brisket in the taco then you usually get in four tacos! I will be returning! The brisket was tender and beautifully shredded with no gristle!! My only complaint I think would be. I bought six tiny tacos for $56!! A little bit rich for my blood."

"This was my first time visiting this location and trying Torchy's, and I have to thank my friend John for recommending it for our lunch date. With the beautiful weather, the outdoor seating was particularly inviting. I ordered two tacos: the Brushfire and the Crossroads. I chose a light amount of salsa to really appreciate the flavors of the meats. They were juicy and well-seasoned, each taco offering its own unique taste and a wonderful combination of toppings. Priced between $4 to $6 per taco, this isn't the place to order in bulk. Overall, the food was fantastic, the conversation was enjoyable, and the weather was perfect—resulting in a truly delightful experience."

"July 2024 Update: Back again for the first time since January, and back to 1 star. Ordered a breakfast taco with egg, spinach, and potatoes. Got a breakfast taco with burnt egg and spinach. January 2024 Update: Yes, I still come here occasionally. Only because one of my kids still likes it. I 'm bumping up my one-star review from 2020 to two stars. The service and takeout has improved considerably since then. Even though we get takeout sometimes, I 've completely stopped eating food from here myself because the vegan options are downright terrible. The beans have cheese in them, the fried avocado has dairy in the batter, and the vegan meat stuff they sell looks like canned dog food and tastes like licking a block of salt. Despite having better service than in years past, the food quality has gone downhill overall and is terribly inconsistent. Their salsa and guacamole in particular are very hit-or-miss. September 2020 Update: RIP Torchy 's. As a customer who 's been coming here since their doors opened I 'm sad to say this will be my last update at this restaurant. Service for take-out has gone from lousy to absolutely intolerable. Despite having them correct my orders time and time again they 've never once offered to comp me in any way. I 've always let it slide because my kids like it and it 's been relatively convenient. They 've finally crossed the threshold into being intolerably inconvenient and frustrating. My order tonight was 15 minutes late, and two of the six items in my order were missing. One of the other four was wrong. I ended up waiting another 15 minutes for them to get the missing items replaced, and one of the replacements was wrong. After waiting a total of over 30 minutes, my food is all cold and I still don 't have everything I ordered. August 2020 Update: Take out is still abysmal. My last few orders have been mostly correct, so that 's an improvement. The new problem is that ordering ahead of time is pointless. I 've been sitting in my car waiting for a curbside pickup for 20 minutes for an order I placed an hour and a half ago. Feb 2019 Update: A year later and their take-out is worse than ever. My kids love it so I keep coming here, but I 'm on a streak of about 10 online orders in a tow that are missing at least one item. 2018: Good tacos. Take-out is a mess and orders are usually wrong."

"I cannot overstate just how much we love Torchy's. We just moved to the DFW area from Hawaii and this place is way better than anything we could get on the islands. We have even started doing Taco Tuesday again! The menu is bit eclectic, but holy tamole the tacos are all delicious! I've tried about 75 of the menu so far, and I have enjoyed everything I've ordered thus far. My favorites have been the Crossroads and the Brushfire. The Ace of Spades is on the secret menu, and it easily rounds out my top three. Street corn, queso, and breakfast tacos are all things to get too. I think this is the third or fourth Torchy's location I've been to, and while this one now my closest, they have all been consistently great. Do your tastebuds a favor and go to Torchy's now!"

"So I 've been a fan of Torchy 's for a while, my go-to spot being the one off Preston Rd in North Dallas. I 've indulged in both breakfast and lunch/dinner tacoliciousness in the recent past. Having moved, we decided to try the Torchy 's closer to home for some breakfast grubbery. Enter Forest Ln location. Ordered online as usual, for a swift pick up and run to the casa house to fatten my Mexican belly. Once I got home, salivating as you would come to expect, I opened the bag of goodies and my heart broke to pieces as I saw the teeny tiny tacos that I 've never been used to from Torchy 's. They almost looked like play tacos that my nieces would make on their own, for Barbie taco time. Heartbroken, I opened my first potato taco, telling myself well at least I can enjoy the taste. I soon realized that they replaced the diced potatoes I 'm familiar with, with tater tots! Tater tots I say!! You may ask yourself, what 's wrong with taters? Nothing....if you have them at a burger joint. But not in my Texas breakfast taco thank you very much. I may indulge from time to time in a fast food breakfast taco where tators are acceptable, but not when I 'm paying this price for a good hearty taco. Diced potatoes gone with no explanation. A twist of the knife. The other tacos were good, at best, tasting a crumb by their size. Had to go get myself some additional breakfast to fill my deflated Mexican belly. Not sure if it 's a change overall with all Torchy 's locations, but I 'm second-guessing whether I should even go back. Definitely not the Forest location anymore. Fo sho!"

"I went there to have some drinks with my partner, and I was waiting for him at the bar. I sat there for at least six minutes without anyone acknowledging me, even though the bar wasn’t busy at all. I’m sure the bartender saw me, but she continued chatting with what seemed to be regulars. Having worked in the service industry, I know how crucial customer service is. When my partner, who is white, walked in, she suddenly came over to take our order. I was appalled and disgusted by the difference in treatment. We decided to leave right away, as I felt a bit discriminated against. My partner mentioned to her why we were leaving, and I want to highlight that the bartender had red hair and a pointy nose. Please do better."

"I am disappointed to have to write this review because my friend and I usually love this place. However, today we were disappointed with the service we received. When we arrived and sat at the bar, we noticed the person preparing food outside playing with a dog in the back of a gray car. After leaving the dog, he went back inside the house and then brought out food for a group without washing his hands. When our bartender came over to take our order, we mentioned what we had seen and he pointed out the handwashing station. We decided to only order drinks and left shortly after. We observed the worker going back to play with the dog multiple times, and our bartender's attitude towards us changed after we asked about handwashing practices. As someone who has worked in the food industry, I understand the importance of proper hygiene, especially during a pandemic. I was really disappointed with our experience at this restaurant."

"The fried avocado taco without cheese was delicious, as was the fresh guacamole. The veggie burrito had a decent flavor, but it lacked vegetables and was mostly filled with rice and beans. They also offer non-taco bowls as well as rice and beans. The service was fast and friendly."
