"I recently visited Prato with my omnivore friends and was pleased to discover that they offered a specific vegan menu. The restaurant had a nice atmosphere and our server was friendly and knowledgeable. He was able to guide us on which items were truly vegan, as opposed to those that may have appeared to be vegan but actually contained animal products. Unfortunately, the dishes we ordered did not meet our expectations. The vegan options we chose included the Aloha Burger, Pretzel with mustard, Fries Sampler Basket, and Cauliflower Wings. I also requested the vegan Greek salad, but was informed that it was no longer available. When it came to the cauliflower wings, there were about three vegan sauce options available, and I decided on the Mango Habanero. However, when our orders arrived, the cauliflower "wings" were simply steamed cauliflower with the sauce on the side. When I questioned the server about this, he explained that the batter used for breading the cauliflower was not vegan because it contained buttermilk. Although this was not what I expected, I appreciated that he removed it from the bill. The Aloha burger seemed to have been cooked on the same grill as fish, giving it a fishy taste. While I understand that most restaurants with vegan options do not have a separate cooking space, the flavors were not to my liking. The fries and pretzel were more satisfying and familiar choices. Our omnivore friends reported that their non-vegan dishes were just average. I am grateful for the vegan options available, but perhaps updating the vegan menu could enhance the overall dining experience."
