"Hole in the wall places often are some of the best places; they wouldn't survive otherwise. Ameci Tustin is one of those places. It's housed in Larwin Square on Newport Avenue, which just might be Tustin's oldest shopping center. I Yelp rate holistically food quality, service, and price. Ameci definitely merits five stars. I'm a big fan of the lunch specials. You can choose from a pretty wide section of the full menu, plus a salad, plus a soft drink for around $10.00 or $11.00. I've tried their sammiches, pasta, and pizza, and it's all been great at a give away price at lunch time (11:00 to 3:00). You can eat inside, but it's primarily take out. There are also steps away outside tables and chairs should you wish to dine al fresco if you are feeling fancy, which on a nice day wouldn't be a bad option. Ameci is one of the gems of Tustin. I'm not sure how I overlooked it for so long. Pro tip: Call in your order if you are doing take out. If you do that, your food will likely be ready and hot when you get there. I keep one of their paper menus handy for this very reason. Their menu is also available on their website if you're not an old school Boomer like me. No alcohol is served, but cheers anyway!
