"Absolutely terrible. I ordered smothered pork chops with mashed potatoes, gravy and greens. Pork chop tasted like vinegar once I broke it apart I saw it was undercooked. As you see everything was slopped all over the box. Greens tasted like chemicals. Cornbread was rubbery. Dressing was slimey watery. Even the peach cobbler was terrible. Gooey not cooked properly. Overall looked nothing like the pictures they have showcased that initially enticed me. Picture is exactly how it looked after simply taking one bite breaking the meat apart."

"Went to the place for dinner after the Football game hour was over. The restaurant will hold a tab for 10 people and had Live music out door. Not time I was there. Loved the atmosphere and people. Every single dish was well prepared while the good looking waitress was attentive. For my dinner menu, I had 1/2 Oyster Rockefeller, Bowl of Ya Ya Gumbo, Shrimp Creole, Cajun Trio and Bourbon St Fettuccini. In addition, I ordered the Beignets for a snack and it was so delicious. I left the restaurant with a Big smile and no complain about my Dining at Cajun Steamer."

"Rarely have we eaten such terrible food. We did not finish our meals even though we were hungry. My cup of gumbo soup was a muddle of shredded chicken and such hot peppers I could not taste anything else. The shrimp and grits had a sauce that tasted like ketchup with additional sugar and was almost as hot as the gumbo. But the restaurant was nearly empty at midday, our waitress was very agreeable, and the beer was cold and good. Looked like a place where undergrads could have a good time drinking on Saturday night, but Open Table is full of places much, much better as a place to eat."

"The husband and I just went for our 12 year anniversary and everything was amazing! Service was very attentive and the food was so, so delicious! We had fried mushrooms, duck wontons, the Ragin' Cajun burger, the prime-rib melt, and beignets. I don't have one complaint. The sweet tea was sweet, the food came out quickly, the prices were fair, and the customer service was top-tier. We'll be back again!"

"We visited French Quarter Brasserie for lunch on a Saturday. We have lived in New Orleans for several years and are very familiar with Cajun cooking. Hence we were looking forward to our visit. But this place was a complete disappointment as it is un-authentic Cajun food. If the restaurants in the French Quarter in New Orleans started selling this kind of food, the French Quarter would be desolate. We started with appetizers. Had the Slap Yo’ Mama shrimp which was pretty tasty. But the Crawfish Mac cheese balls were mostly fried Mac cheese with hardly any crawfish in it. The scallop gumbo was white in color and tasted and looked more like clam chowder instead of gumbo. For the main entrees, we ordered jambalaya which tasted more like tomato rice instead of jambalaya. The cajun chicken pasta had no cajun taste to it. The chicken was pretty much like boiled chicken with no flavor and the spaghetti noodles was a disaster. We ate a couple of bites of the pasta and had to bail on it. The crawfish étouffée did not meet the mark either. For dessert the classic beignets were a disaster as well. Overall the menu is very overpriced for the quality. We will not be visiting this place again."

"I use waitr app, I've been noticing the portions are getting smaller. I spent $92 on supper tonight. I did not get my dessert. When I called the restaurant to see how we can handle this, the guy tells me to come over and pick it up. Why would I drive over there when I just spent $12 on a delivery service. This is my last meal there"

"Overall, my dining experience at this restaurant was perfect. The service was excellent, and the atmosphere was inviting. The price per person for lunch was between $10-20, making it a very affordable option. I highly recommend trying the Red Beans Sausage, Fried Pork Chop, Baked Chicken, Crawfish Etouffee, Green Salad, Ribs, Lasagna, Pork Stew, Rice Roll, Chicken Sausage Gumbo, Roll, Chicken Fried Steak, Chicken Ala Ruby, Banana Cream Cake, Fried Fish with Crawfish Etouffee, Smothered Pork Steak, and a Side of Green Salad. Additionally, there is plenty of parking available for patrons in the free parking lot."

"Omg! The red beans and rice! I had the Supreme gumbo combo with that and jambalaya... came with corn bread and also had the 7 up pound cake.I thought it would be way less food than what I got... servings are great and it's awesome ! "We were looking for a place we hadn't been, and chose this one. First impression: clean and friendly, and well-lighted with a slight sports bar-ish feel.We ordered at the counter. Wifey chose the two-meat plate with moist-cut brisket and chicken; I got a BBQ baked potato with moist brisket. That was rounded out by green beans, baked beans, peach cobbler, sweet tea, and a John Daly (vodka and pink lemonade). We sat, they served.I have to say, everything was pretty good. The only thing we agreed we would change is to have just a little less fat on the brisket. Also, I belatedly realized that I should have left the sauce off of my potato and instead used the sauce containers on the table to better control the amount.Normally, it is a bus-yourself place, but it was slow (early Sunday afternoon) and one of the staff kindly offered to clear our table. We felt comfortable enough to stay and chat and catch part of the Astros game.We enjoyed it and we'll be back. 2 Guys 1 Pit made the cut!"

"The tip is included on the bill, and I didn’t notice it at first. I ended up giving the server an additional 20% on top of what was already charged. Looking over the bill today, I realized they had already added the tip, which felt quite deceptive. In total, I ended up giving $85 in tips! Now I know to pay more attention in the future. Aside from that, the ambiance was fantastic."
