"We sat for about ten minutes before we were served water and another ten minutes before we even saw the waiter. When we inquired about the standard menu, we were informed that it was not available. Instead, the buffet items were scattered throughout the restaurant. The prime rib was boiled and served at best a medium doneness when we prefer medium-rare, and it was quite tough. The turkey options were also dry.
Moreover, the dessert menu did not include crème brûlée, which was listed, much to our disappointment. The waitress and the staff responsible for water rarely checked on us, although we could see they were attentive to other tables around us.
When we received the bill, it was nearly $40 more than we had anticipated. When we asked why, we were told there was an automatic 18% gratuity, but we felt that this was misleading as we hadn’t been informed about it beforehand, and we were not compelled to give additional tips. Had I known about the grading system, I would have adjusted my tip accordingly.
Overall, we are considering not returning to this restaurant during holidays, especially if we cannot order from the regular menu. We're feeling quite discouraged and disappointed at this time."
