"I recently had breakfast at PJ Bernstein, a New York deli located near the hospital where I was visiting my new grandbaby. While I had high hopes for the meal, I was somewhat disappointed by the overall experience. To start, the tables were sticky, which was not a great first impression. It made me wonder about the overall cleanliness of the restaurant. Additionally, my egg cream was too watery, which detracted from the overall flavor. While it was still drinkable, it was not up to the standard that I was hoping for.As for the food, I ordered my standard latkes, matzoh ball soup, and a Reuben sandwich. While the matzoh ball soup was flavorful and satisfying, the latkes had too much flour, which made them dry and a bit tough. This was a disappointment, as latkes are one of my favorite dishes and I was looking forward to them. The Reuben sandwich was good, but not outstanding. It was a bit dry and lacked the tangy flavor that I was hoping for. While the food was not exceptional, the service was decent. Our server was friendly and attentive, and the food was served in a timely manner. However, the lack of cleanliness and the disappointing latkes and egg cream detracted from the overall experience. In conclusion, while PJ Bernstein may have been a New York deli staple in the past, my recent experience left something to be desired. While the matzoh ball soup and Reuben sandwich were good, the latkes had too much flour and the egg cream was too watery. Additionally, the tables were sticky, which was a bit off-putting. While the service was decent, I would recommend looking elsewhere for a more satisfying New York deli experience"

"I ordered ribs and had to send that back twice because they were dry and overcooked. My mashed potatoes were cold and super thick. My boyfriend’s salmon was dry and overcooked as well. We did receive great service and the drinks were good. I left still hungry because I didn’t eat any of my food. It was not an upscale place like it claimed. It was loud and ratchet"

"No matter how hard I try to order meat somewhere else I always get disappointed. The quality of meats Guerra's are ALWAYS incredible. I know they're pricey but if you find yourself devouring any cut of meat down to the very wick of the bone(if there is such a thing) you know you got your money's worth. Beware!!!!! if you bring to someone's home.....prepare for the vultures to come out. I have never been able to make it to a meal when I walk in the door with any cut of meat because they just start eating away at it before the rest of meal is done."

"I have been eating here for years and never had any problems with my food til recently...over the past year their food has definitely taken a down fall...tonight I ordered wings as usual got all the way home and started eating...my wings were not fully cooked...the layer of skin was still pink and slimy inside...called to let them know and their response was that the cook said he cooked them long enough...I took them back to show them I wasn't lying...I didn't even want them to redo them ...I just told them they lost a regular customer...you can get very sick eating raw chicken...this place has definitely gone down hill...I will never eat here again"

"Owner needs to be more courteous. I haven’t been to this place in 4 years and they changed a lot. Walked in puzzled seeing everyone and items. Couldn’t distinguish the sides and entrees. No pricing available. They hardly speak and rude. Cashier even argued infront of other customers and later said 1000 sorry. Too many things are arranged in small places and u will miss the important points. Also at lunch too many people infornt and behind you so you are making choices half minded. Employees are not welcoming, not courteous, greedy for money.dishonest., two sides, three side, four side differ by a 1$. But if you buy one side they charge you 5$. Never transparent with pricing. Owner chadi did run the receipt. Walked over to the table to prove customer wrong for a 1$ and embarrassing. Later said 1000 sorry. Don’t argue if you have any complaints with food or employees. Just pass this place next time. No customer satisfaction and the above pic shows 17$ food."

"What a fantastic place! We sat at the bar and were entertained by Chris, the bartender. He was incredibly efficient and quick, which left us quite impressed! When I complimented him, he attributed his skill to the great team he works with, saying he couldn't do it alone. What an outstanding employee! It really seems like a well-managed restaurant with a fantastic team. We ordered the pig nachos and wings, and they were both excellent. Even though the restaurant was crowded, we received great service, enjoyed delicious food, and had a wonderful experience. Highly recommend!"

"Reliable tasty, service was plentiful but inconspicuous for basic details, i.e. coffee without offer or bring cream or sugar, brings toast without butter (toast is cold fast, so butter is best brought with automatic and ask to delete our plates again while a member of our party still eats. It is good to see that the restaurant has enough staff in numbers, but at least four different staff visits us (two servers and two bus drivers? but that meant that we repeated the same questions from different people, successively, and several repeated mistakes were made with simple beverage orders, and it felt reluctant: the dessert menu because we were asked several times, again before one in our party had finished his main course. There was no obvious rush for the table, but I think the staff was simply not sure what to do because it wasn't busy enough for them? Nothing that could not fix some training and better communication between employees. I love eating at GLK and appreciate the outdoor dining option. Great addition to the Dimond. It's nice that they're overstaffed, instead of being understaffed and happy they're still open and survive the pandemic so far!"

"Absolutely amazing! So happy. We moved here from Chicago about 6 years ago and I’m always looking for a good deli and this is an amazing deli with incredible prices! I walked in and was greeted by a wonderful gentleman. He was such a pleasure to talk to. I got the gyro w fries and my son got the turkey sandwich w cheese sticks. I haven’t seen gyros here since we moved and this was so good. It was even better than Chicago. The fries were great, too. Turkey sandwich w bacon and cheese was so good and fresh…just delicious! Bacon was freshly made. Cheese was truly delicious and so fresh. Turkey was amazingly delicious! Cheese sticks were so good. The breading was full of flavor and the cheese pulled apart like cheese should!! And the prices are ridiculously low. We will be back to try the hot dishes!!"

"I’ll keep this brief. A beautifully designed store with everything you’d need for your home if your need was to purchase only kosher items. Aisles are narrow and aggressive shoppers will plow you down with their carts if you’re in their way. The food items are variable in their taste. Some are quite good, such as mashed potatoes with grilled onions. The green beans were soggy and tasteless. The broiled Salmon was delicious, flaky and well prepared. Egg salad tasteless. Rice pudding an embarrassment. Bran muffins tasteless and partially stale. Butternut squash well done. Two Cornish hens at $48. Was criminal. All the soups are their strong point. Worth returning for. All prices outrageously high. With no competition anywhere they can charge you such prices. Would I return? Only for soups."

"If you’re looking for a caterer for an event, look no further! Gunther’s Catering has everything you need and more! We used Gunther’s Catering for our backyard October wedding in Willow Glen. Gunther’s provided food, beverages, bartender, service staff, tables, chairs, linens, china, flatware, glassware, and ice. Not to mention pickup and delivery! Steve (from Gunther’s was nothing short of amazing. He patiently fielded all our questions (and trust me, there were many! and provided suggestions, sage advice, and (as needed a hefty dose of much-needed reassurance. We even had the luxury of a private tasting at Gunter’s Restaurant. Steve also provided recommendations for other vendors such as a florist, DJ service, etc. Steve came out for a site visit twice to figure out logistics, spacing and “what goes where.” He met with me and our planning team and patiently considered all ideas and offered his own tried and true suggestions. Since this was my first, last and only wedding it was important to me and you know what? It was just as important to Steve. The food was outstanding! In fact, our friends are still talking about how great the food was. The service staff and bartender were efficient and professional. They knew what they were doing and it showed! And those cookies! Our backyard was transformed into a magical venue, even surpassing what we had hoped for. We have Steve and Gunther’s Catering to thank for it!"

"The best way to describe this restaurant is simply "meh." I enjoy supporting local businesses, but to start, the place appeared quite dirty. I ordered a cheeseburger without a bun, and the meat was dry and tough. I chose broccoli as my side, but it had no flavor and was overcooked. My partner ordered a sub, which came on dry bread, along with some Coke fries. Overall, not impressed!"

"Everyone's food was fresh and seasoned perfectly. Kids loved it to. I had fried seafood platter with asparagus not greasy at all. WIfe had chicken picatta which I typically do not enjoy...but even that was delicious. Best mac cheese I've ever tasted period. Breaded crab cakes are to die for. Seasonal craft beers paired up to suit your entree....just can't beat it."

"My family and I had a disappointing experience at the self-checkout counter. As we scanned each item, a store associate aggressively intervened whenever there was an issue with the scanner. Before I could even explain what happened, she immediately accused us of not scanning an item and began counting what was already in my bag. What she failed to realize was that I hadn’t even had a chance to scan it before she interrupted me with her unsolicited opinion. This happened at least two more times during my transaction. She never apologized for her mistakes and seemed to have already judged us as thieves. I prefer to spend my hard-earned money in places where my business is valued and appreciated."

"Food wasn’t bad, the waitress (with the leopard mask) was rude. Somehow there was a mixup with seating—we waited for a table for 15 minutes while people who arrived after us (same number of people in party) got seated first. Finally, a kind couple who noticed we were waiting after they got called said “uhhh, they were here first,” and the waitress (she was our waitress but it looked like she was covering for the host during a break) said “oh, he crossed their name off. it doesn’t matter. You’re both gonna get tables in 30 seconds” she sounded irritated about it, and no, he didn’t cross our name off, because he wasn’t even there. So not only did she seat many people before us, she shifted a blame to another employee, didn’t apologize for the mixup, and felt the need to make a snarky comment. I worked in retail for 10 years, so I try to be understanding of food service employees, but her attitude needs adjusted. So if she reads this and wonders why we didn’t tip: here’s why! I wanted to leave a note saying why, but my husband is a better person than me. Also of note: scrambled eggs were dry and tasted funny, my husband ordered over easy and got over hard eggs, and she didn’t bother to refill his drink until he asked....near the end of the meal. Do better."

"I visited the restaurant on the weekend of July 4th for lunch, and my whole family loved it. The grilled brisket and cheese were excellent, and the fried mushrooms and swirl rings were also fantastic. We plan to go back this week. If you try this restaurant, you won't be disappointed!"
