"I noticed that many Steak 'n Shake locations have started using self-ordering kiosks, so you now have to place your order through these machines. I also observed that my shakes had some added color, and the new big round paper straws have a rather odd taste, like I’m drinking through a newspaper. I usually stick to cookies and cream, but I tried strawberry this time.
The food came out fairly quickly after the shakes, and our waiter did a good job. We dug into our meals and were out the door in no time. You pay at the kiosk, which made me a bit unsure about leaving a tip since we had to serve ourselves and didn’t order any sodas, so there were no refills. Nevertheless, we still left a few bucks each and felt good about it. Overall, I would give it 5 stars!"
