"My experience at Zingari Ristorante was very mediocre. I came here for my boyfriend’s birthday. Due to covid, we sat on a beautiful rooftop which at first was very romantic, but was unfortunately ruined by the very loud EDM music. We were seated very near the speakers so I understand that it was loud, however, the very EDM music ruined the mood and we had a difficult time communicating despite being right in front of each other. We also sat right next to a heater, but only seemed to produce minimal heat, which was a huge downside when eating around The service was very slow. The waiters were all very nice but the waiter spent hours before bringing our food. I believe we waited for our appetizer, around or more for our entrees, and even for our dessert. This would have been understandable if the restaurant was busy, but we were one of the last tables. We were pretty disappointed by the service. Finally the food was overall very very good. My boyfriend got the veal steak and I got the pappardelle de la nonna. Both were very good but my pasta was a bit over seasoned, which is surprising because usually I always like my food extraseasoned. The veal steak is definitely a masterpiece though. The appetizer was mozzarella wrapped in prosciutto. It tasted very good, but there could have been more mozzarella and less prosciutto. The desserts were cheesecake and profiteroles. Both were excellent and no complaint!Overall, I was a dissatisfied but the food remained good"

"We ate at Baci last night. It's better than when Bill owned it! What's better is the servings are more abundant, the recipes have been tweaked to add more interest, and, in the case of my husband's entree, the veal was a better grade of meat than what was previously used. The veal marsala was so much more tender and tasted so much better, we asked our veteran waitress, Pat, whose employment predated Bill, if it was a better grade and she said yes. My pro secco apertif was served in a new modern stylish, slender tall glass that appeared to be a larger serving than the old champagne flutes. There was considerably more home grown tomato bruschetta on top of the toasted bread rounds. My linguine con vongole in clear sauce was a more generous portion than in the past. It was considerably larger than the meager, bland portion I ate two weeks ago at Arancio at Kahala, Honolulu Magazine's Finalist for Best O'ahu Restaurant, 2018 Hale Aina Award Winner and gold winner winner in Best Italian. I really liked the tweaked insalate pere's shaved beet and carrots and my husband liked the artichokes he didn't remember seeing previously in the veal marsala. My husband ordered grappa after the meal. It was one of the cheaper options. He was prepared for moonshine. Instead, it was extremely smooth and served in glass twice as large as the size in which grappa is normally served. My profiteroles were outstanding. If you want to eat at Oahu's best Italian restaurant, this is it."

"We got there when the restaurant opened. They were clearly not ready for customers. My husband went to the bathroom and had to turn on the lights himself. He had only turned on one set of lights. When he went to the bathroom again at the end of the meal, it was still just the one set of lights on, meaning no employees had gone in there to make sure the lights were on in the bathroom, and that was more than an hour after the restaurant had opened. There were employees sitting at the bar folding napkins during our meal. Someone (the host, I think) was walking back and forth with canisters of lighter fluid near our table. It was unclear who our server was supposed to be. The bartender took our order at first and he had to ask for it again because he couldn't remember everything. A woman seemed to notice that no one was taking care of us and started tending to us more. It was pretty awkward altogether. Service was still slow. The food was only okay. This place calls itself a martini bar, yet they do not have a martini menu. How strange. A couple who was seated after us got their meals before us somehow. How did they get their meals faster than us if we were there first? The food was only okay. Mussels were tough. Lamb shanks were flavorless. The worst thing is that after we had gotten our meals boxed, paid the check and left, I noticed that not all of my food was in my box. I ordered the lamb shanks. It is supposed to have 2 shanks. I hadn't even finished one shank, but noticed only one shank was in the box. Why would they toss perfectly good meat instead of putting it in my box? I was really angry. We will not be coming here again."

"The best cannolis around? Imported from Italy? Thats what I heard... was dropping off my car at a specialty neighborhood German auto repair nearby and had to try. Word on the street or at least word on Check Please! they serve authentic European desserts here of the best variety. Would these live up to my high expectations given I'm a dessert snob? The building itself is easily missed. It is one of those places I would walk right past not much personality. But once I walked in I enjoyed the casual atmosphere. Lots of tables set up like a classroom probably the best place for students to study. Windows to an exterior patio was also very inviting and full with happy customers. Some pleasant music playing and friendly help at the counter. All the desserts looked so beautiful. I tried some cannolis, the fruit tart and the Napoleon all to go. Quick transaction. Once home I eagerly tried the cannoli. Little orange candy decoration at both ends appreciated attention to detail... but once I bit in the outside lacked the snap that I get at Stellas or Victorias in north beach in the city. Taste or flavor was great but I think since these are imported they might not be as fresh. Napoleon was more of the same. Custard was soaking into the layers these things are probably best eaten in the morning I purchased these in the afternoon. Also I would have liked a more interesting topping. Raspberry or chocolate or swirl design of some sort. Fruit tart was my favorite dessert. Custard and the fruit was very refreshing. Party in my mouth. The type of fruit is unusual and its very hard to find with the exception of maybe Ikea or Trader Joes in the frozen section. I think they are called lingonberries. Overall go for the atmosphere to study. Maybe go for pizza or mushroom soup or coffee or wine. I've not tried those things but plan on going back next time my car needs this or that nearby."
