"Union Social in Mississauga used to be one of my favorite spots. We went there often years ago and always had great experiences. Unfortunately, it seems like those days are long gone. The restaurant was filthy, with a strong smell of gas that made us uneasy from the start. When we brought it up to the waitress, she had no idea where the smell was coming from and didn’t seem concerned. The place was overrun with flies, and the service was painfully slow. We ordered six meals and three appetizers, but the food was downright disgusting. The first appetizer, an avocado spread, arrived frozen like it had been sitting in the fridge from the day before. After sending it back, we were given a fresh one, but that was the only small improvement. The two chicken plates, two salmon plates, burger, and chicken almond dish we ordered were inedible. The burger was burned, the sweet potatoes under the salmon were old and soggy, and the chicken plates were so bad that we couldn’t even finish them. To top it all off, the bill came to around $300, which was beyond frustrating considering the poor quality of everything. It’s as if the chef now came in from selling donuts at Tim Hortons rather than having any real culinary experience. Sadly, what was once one of my favorite places has become a nightmare, and I can no longer recommend it. This place is a shadow of its former self, and I won’t be going back."

"One word: Impressed.Haven't visited Milestones in ages, especially this Langford location. Had some gift cards to use up so better now than never. Walked in on a Monday afternoon and I forgot how nice the setting is. Open, modern, tidy and clean-lined. Host and server were both upbeat, attentive and professional. I like their new uniforms of neat jeans and button-down chambray shirt (very Canadiana), nothing try-hard pretentious or chichi about it (unlike other franchises). I appreciate that about Milestones. Purely professional. Food and service are number one. Noticed the menu has changed. Looks fresh, creative and modern. Now serving seasonal dishes, specials and weekend brunch. They appear to have a very good Executive Chef. Ordered a main, the Ultimate Fish Taco Duo, to share. Without prompting, the kitchen had neatly divided the two tacos for us including the fries vertically stacked in a steel cup. Impressed. The flour tortillas were slightly crisp and folded with a toothpick. The golden basa piece was quite large with a generous topping of freshly made salsa slaw and diced mango with a perfect amount of sauce. It was very tasty. It would kill it at Taco Corner in downtown Vic. And the fries were perfectly crisp and lightly salted. Still impressed. Next was the veggie Garden Burger and side spring salad with candied pecans and fresh strawberries. The combination of roasted red pepper relish, avocados and LTO topping makes for a tasty burger. At about $13 this is a bargain. The hubs enjoyed his Crispy Chicken Burger. It's a decent size and the first bite of chicken was steaming, fresh and moist, so you know it was delivered promptly from the kitchen. The house-made honey sriracha slaw and garlic aioli was tasty. We both enjoyed the toasted egg burger bun. All the food tasted fresh and delicious and we thought the prices were fair. I could see the open kitchen from our booth and it's spotless and organized and the chefs were meticulously assembling dishes. The server (who was excellent and I wish I got her name) mentioned the survey at the bottom of the bill. I know lots of places do this now but combined with the Field Agent mystery guest I can only surmise Milestones HQ is paying plenty of attention to each and every location and the overall guest experience. I wish other chain restaurants would take note and do this because Milestones is stepping it up. They want detailed feedback, which means accountability and a high standard of quality, care and attention. Well it's working because we were really impressed with our whole experience and will be back, sooner than later.4.25/5"

"Our experience started out great because our server and waiter were very personable. But later we had a problem we feel was not adequately addressed. There were 4 of us at the table my husband, our 2 guests and me. Our waiter took our orders and the entrees were brought to our table by other staff (I call them servers . My husband 's entrée was not delivered. We notified one of the servers and he said they will probably bring it out later. There was no offer to check on it. It never came out. I finally got the attention of our primary waiter and told him about the missing entrée. He went back to check on it and when he came out, he said he had turned in the order and it would be out soon. And then he said Sorry about that. It finally came out, but by this time, our guests had finished their entrees. My husband ended up taking most of his meal home instead of eating it at the restaurant. It 's been our previous experience that when the primary waiter does not bring the food to the table, that person will check very soon (pretty much immediately after the food is delivered to make sure everything is okay. That was not done in this case. In addition, because it was a very hot night, we were drinking a lot of water in addition to our alcoholic beverages. The first 2 bottles of water we got were still water and very refreshing. However, the 3rd bottle was sparkling water (which we did not ask for and was not as good tasting or refreshing. It seems the bottles could have been better labeled so the servers can differentiate between the different types of waters. Over all, we felt we should have gotten better service for the price we paid for the meals."
