"I was in Chicago for a conference and the organizers ordered a Kosher lunch from Shallots Bistro. They ordered the menu item 'The Bomb ' it was a pretzel bun filled with all sorts of deli meats and sauces. It was quite delicious, which is good because they ordered it 4 times that week! One of the evenings my wife and I went out to Shallots and we had a wonderful time, the steaks were expertly prepared and drinks were refreshing and the dessert quite interesting. Great place for a special night out."

"ip) both were very mediocre in flavor. The bread and chips were the highlight of those dishes. Mind you we all shared everything. We then got the burger which, for the quality, was very over priced. Very basic burger I could cook at my house. Theswordfish dish also came out and it was a tiny and tasteless piece that they tried to add flavor to with a bunch of garnishes(also over priced for $30). The chicken Milanese and the tortellini were the best plates that we tried. The tortellini wasexcellent but only came with 9 pieces at $18. So we paid $2 a tort which felt like a tariff. The chicken Milanese was the onlything I could not complain about due to portion size and great flavor. Server (Alfie) was fast and efficient but did not seem tocare after we told her about how we weren?t satisfied with a couple of the plates. For 3 people turned out to be $150 withouttip. Would NOT recommend to anyone unless they are looking for a chicken Milanese dish. SHOULD HAVE WENT TO ?The Duplex? ."

"When we arrived they put the 6 of us in a room by ourselves at a nice round table...very nice. A man came over with an apron on and started filling our water. I said Are You Our Server he replied I have an apron on, why do people always ask me if I am their server . Well, where I come from, and in GREAT restaurants THE SERVER, will introduce themselves right away. Most of the BETTER restaurants have people that fill water and bring bread etc. (Ruths Chris, Capital Grill, Eddie V 's). I then asked him his name...he said my name in SING...he then asked us if we wanted some cocktails and if the ladies wanted to get drunk.....yes that what he said...I would not lie. He was about as far from professional as you can get. We ordered our food...Bread was brought to the table...it was terrible...I asked SING if people like this bread and he said not really but the chef does.....wow what a response! We ordered food, 1 ordered Pork Chops and said they were very good, 4 of us ordered filets...1 6oz and 3 8oz... They were all very marginal in taste...truly marginal...I have had better at Texas Roadhouse thats how marginal. 1 of us ordered scallops...not good.. We ordered 2 creamed spinach sides.....NOT A DROP OF CREAM......dried up as can be...The garlic mashed were very garlic filled, the augratin were good...My buddy ordered a house cab, Sing said dont get it I have one from Caymus family thats just a little more....House is $14...his was $20...I do not call $6 a little more. Quite honestly, maybe because it 's off season and the regular staff/chef wasn 't here, but I just dont know why ANYONE would rate this place more than a 4 out of 10..... If you read my reviews, I call them as I see them....If you are great, I review you great, If you are lousy....well then you get what you deserve."

"OMG!!! What an absolutely phenomenal meal earlier this evening!! Our waiter, Dave, was wonderful. Anything we needed, he was there. We split a 3 oz portion of the olive Wagyu as an appetizer, and it was perfect. Loved the seared outside and rare inside. The prime rib was the best I have ever had at a restaurant. Total melt in your mouth deliciousness. I don't remember what our dessert was called, but it was peach something with blueberry compote. It was heaven!! We will be back! "excellent experience. 5 stars would have been given if they solved the parking problem. parking in the opposite is terrible and valet service was not available. If you want to be a fine restaurant, you need to offer people a convenient opportunity to park. drive around looking for parking and then go a few blocks in the brutal weather is not acceptable."

"Came here for Easter brunch… and to echo another review, the whole experience was disappointing. TL;DR: Unacceptable service for fine dining. Food was decent but had prepackaged mixes and overall nothing special. You have way better options in Woodside at a similar price range without the long drive into the mountain. FOOD: No bread before meal. Pastries were an additional add-on. All the pastries were of a cakey texture — really surprised that there were no puff pastries at all. Cornbread tastes like it’s out of a package mix. Waited 45min with no check-ins from the waiter before the starter. Big yikes! I had the duck, which was good. Too much oil on the lettuce underneath though. Then we had to wait another 30-40min after they cleared out our starters for the main. At this point, we were just baffled by the slow service when the restaurant is not even half full. I had the steak and eggs. Same sides as one of their add-on starters, which was disappointing and felt cheap. My dish was decent, though the steak was a bit stringy. My mom had the pancakes, and she said it tastes just like the pancake mix from Costco. SERVICE: The host left people frequently at the door, forming a long line out the door when everyone there had reservations and the restaurant was quite empty. Absolutely no care to seat people down when we get texts before we arrive that the table is ready. Once we are seated, the greetings from the server were cold. Didn’t even bother asking if there was another occasion we were celebrating (we were actually there for my mom’s birthday, but I guess they assume everyone must be Christians celebrating Easter). Awfully slow food service. Waiter didn’t even bother to offer to check on the status of the food or check in as we waited. In the bill, they charge a 20% service fee, and waiter who showed up twice to our table through the entire service and who didn’t even bother asking why we were there had the audacity to specifically ask us to leave an extra tip that goes just to her. No sorry, I’m leaving you this review instead. AMBIENCE: The forest was pretty cool, but beware that the glasshouse they have heats up a lot on a sunny day. The main part of the restaurant is really dark for reason, kind of depressing tbh."

"On a recent trip to Portland we were lucky to have a later dinner at Lolita. What a sweet and romantic little place. The staff was wonderful our waitress was incredibly helpful with wine suggestions and wonderful fun and light. She was there when we needed something without floating. The food was incredibly delicious. We have two toasts and a pot. Both the Rapini Toast and the Roast Pork Toast were really balanced and packed. The Smoked Bass Pot was the only product that seemed less tasteful it seemed little too no taste of smoke to him and it was overwhelmed with Dill. Next we got the Fire Roasted Marrow Bones (the mushrooms that accompanied the Mark were delicious! and a special Beef Carpaccio that was nicely cut and delicious. We finished by sharing it near perfect Bucatini and the sweet and juicy Wood Roasted Clams. The wines we got were super tasty and the plasters of the different course was on place. We definitely come back to our next trip!"

"Poor kitchen execution on the foie gras, marrow bones, creamed spinach and sea bass. Wait staff snafu as the actual dessert ordered for the birthday celebrant was forgotten and then delivered to the table with a smeared chocolate” happy birthday” inscribed on the plate with thumb markings. The miscues were beneath 801 Chophouse standards established by the Des Moines location. Changing the focus of the evening and memories being made to continually address the suboptimal product coming from the kitchen was not my plan. My mistake for selecting 801 for an irreplaceable special occasion without knowing the shortcomings of the Leawood location."

"The food was absolutely fantastic. We ordered a variety of dishes, including a fried lobster tail, oysters, a wonderfully flavored strawberry salad, lobster mac and cheese, Brussels sprouts, some delicious Wagyu beef, and perfectly seasoned carrots. One member of our group had the lamb, which was praised as perfect. I was also treated to their soufflé, which was incredibly tender and flavorful. I have to give a special mention to the scrumptious bread! Our server was very helpful with flavor recommendations and was both friendly and knowledgeable. If you’re in the Des Moines area and looking for an excellent steakhouse, 801 Chophouse is definitely the place to be."

"801 Chop didn’t disappoint! The steaks were done perfectly, with a nice crust on the outside and a perfect medium tenderness to the inside. The cognac butter and portobello mushroom topping was wonderful. Sides were incredible as well. The only thing lacking was the whiskey menu that did not come close to the level I’d expect from this tier of restaurants. No Stagg, Weller FP, CYPB, Antique 107, nothing noteworthy beyond the Pappy. Service was friendly, but very slow to get around to ordering which I’m not sure was the intention or just a byproduct of a weeknight."

"Wonderful night! Friendly greeting at the door, excellent, excellent waiter place was busy and yet we were well taken care of. I wanted to try a more rare steak but changed my mind after it was served and the kitchen was more than gracious about it, even making sure I was happy with the additional cooking by coming out of the kitchen and then they brought me more sauce! Also the sides and appetizers were unspeakably delicious especially the chop salad and the tuna tartar. All around a perfect experience."

"Our service was amazing. However, we ordered the A5 Wagyu steaks, 5oz and 8oz. Both cooked medium. They came out on the rare/medium rare side. My spouse asked for his to be brought up. When it came back it was still medium rare. So he asked for it to be cooked medium well. 2 more times back to the chefs later and it finally came out medium well. The server was overly apologetic we took care of her well. But the steaks just did not. I assumed being that level of a steak house they would know how to temp steaks. If not the first time then definitely the second. King crab legs and sides were amazing. But we came for steaks."

"I brought a friend to brunch because I told her that our family went to dinner on 23rd and it was fantastic! unfortunately it went down fast. not our waitress debt, she was very friendly and apologetic; she had 2 big tables and they were short busy, and she has already composed our croissant and my drink because our traitors we take so long. but we had to wait for our food for over 45 minutes and it came cold. totally unacceptable. then we had asked several people for a carafe water 3 times. When the bartender came with my 2nd blood mary, I said it was supposed to have a salted rim and would please also bring us the bottle of water. she came back with a small salted edge glass for me to pour in my drink and pour it and the filled water on our table. very rude and unprofessional! we were so withdrawn that I immediately hosted with the two (which I did not know were the manager) about the situation. When our waitress came back, we told her and our food was cold. at this point I am pleased to report that their restaurant has done the right thing. they composed our entire meal and spoke to the rude bartender. but this whole experience my restaurant wanted to show to my friend was a complete catastrophe! our waitress was professional; bartender was not. and her kitchen served cold entrees. totally unacceptable, and we didn't want to wait 40 minutes for hot escapes. when we left, we said the waitress, we wanted to type her and ask for a bill so that we can do that. then the manager apologised on the way out and said that he spoke to everyone involved. normally a manager supports the waiter and comes to the table to apologize and compensate. they did the right thing by composing, but none of it was the caliber of the restaurant I thought. my man and I have an dinner date this Thursday and I am now worried that we do not have the wonderful culinary experience we had on December 23. I would like to recommend them!"

"Eating dinner at this restaurant is a great choice! The entrance is located right off the casino floor, so it can be a bit noisy. However, we requested a quiet table and the hostess was able to accommodate us. Our server was attentive but not intrusive, allowing us to enjoy our drinks before bringing out our appetizer - a small seafood tower. The cooked components, including lump crab, shrimp, lobster, and king crab legs, were perfectly executed. My dining companion enjoyed the raw oysters and clams. For our main courses, I chose scallops over lobster risotto while my companion had a 12-ounce filet with Bearnaise sauce and mushrooms. Everything was prepared to our liking. The wine list had a great selection by the glass, and we found a reasonably priced bottle of California viognier that paired nicely with our seafood dishes. The portion sizes were just right for us, although we were too full for dessert - which was fine with us as we prefer starting with a good appetizer. After dining at another steakhouse in the area, we both agreed that Duke's offers a much superior dining experience."

"We had a wonderful dining experience at Local Yocal last Saturday. We had made reservations for 6 PM, which I highly recommend, as the restaurant was fully booked by the time we were seated. We kicked things off with the smoked onion dip served with their potato chips and the roasted bone marrow. While the chips were a bit too salty for my taste, the dip was incredible. The bone marrow was equally impressive, tasting just like butter—absolutely delicious! Every main course ordered at our table was outstanding. I chose the Caesar Salad topped with shrimp, opting for something lighter after our heavy appetizers and sides. The service was prompt, and the dining area was well-spaced and not too noisy, which is important to me. Overall, I give this place two thumbs up!"
