"We are so happy that we decided to hire Wild Thyme Catering for our wedding in May. Although we initially had only planned for them to provide the food for our reception, we ended up using them for so much more. Wild Thyme provided the rehearsal dinner food, handled chair rental and set up, provide bartender service with drinks (we were able to buy on our own), did all of the ceremony bouquets, boutonnieres, and corsages, handled the bakery delivery and set up and finally provided the food for the reception! The night before the wedding we decided to host the rehearsal dinner at our house. Summer was willing to come to our house and put together a local low country boil meal with strawberry shortcake dessert. The food was amazing, everyone loved it. Most of our guests are not from the south and loved the fresh Charleston shrimp. On the day of the wedding we had the catering staff handle the rental and set up of the chairs for our outdoor ceremony. They even offered to help wipe down all of the chairs for our guest after we had a summer storm pop up right before the ceremony. Everything turned out beautiful and our guests had dry seats. The bartenders were great. They even offered to run to the store for us when we ran out to buy more when we started to run out of our most popular drink option! The bartenders provided very friendly service to all of our guests! I can't explain how happy I was with the flowers. I provided very little instruction to Summer and Deanna as we were having a simple outdoor ceremony. I was beyond amazed when I saw what they put together. The bouquets were so colorful and fresh and matched the theme of the wedding perfectly. The boutonnieres looked great on all of the guys and the mother's corsages were pearl bracelet versions of our bouquets. I loved them all! For desserts we did a small cake top with cupcakes for all of the guests. The bakery they selected did a wonderful job with the desserts and Wild Thyme set them up beautifully. Finally, the wonderful brunch themed reception food. We started with passed appitizers (the cucumber sliders were a crowd favorite). In addition to the passed appetizers we had a yogurt and fresh fruit bar, french toast and berry skewers and a full omelette station. I was told by several people that it was the best wedding food they have ever had. Summer, Deanna and her crew at Wild Thyme catering did a wonderful job for us. We highly recommend them and can't thank them enough for their great service!!"

"This is our 2nd stay. Our first stay was right after the lodge opened up and our experience was great. Pricing was reasonable and our room had a pretty park view. No issues whatsoever and I even recommended The Lodge to several friends. Now onto our second stay: Keep in mind the website states all rooms have a excellent view of either the park or the ocean. This stay our view was construction. We kept our curtains closed the entire time. To be fair and not be entirely negative, the beds are comfortable and the beach area is very nice and you can get off to yourself, however the hotel is extremely overpriced for what you get. It is just that, a hotel. In addition to the over $2, 000 we paid we also had to pay for daily parking, not even one space per room is allowed without paying more money. The night we got there it was late and we were able to get a luggage cart without any problems. Upon checkout we were not allowed to get a cart and was told that their employees had to transfer the luggage with the carts. Not everyone wants someone else handling their things. There were a few other things that we were not happy about but not worth mentioning. There was a card left in our room telling if you were not happy with stay to leave a comment and they would “make it right”. I left a comment and ask to be contacted and no one responded. I called and was told that was not the way to handle your issues, that most of their cleaning ladies don’t speak English. I ask them why leave a card for us to handle our issues?? I was told sorry. I was told that we should come at another time when they weren’t so busy. Excuse me, my vacation shouldn’t have to be planned around their convenience! I was told that the luggage cart is a policy that they carry your luggage in and out. I said then why were we allowed to carry our luggage on a cart the night we got here? I was told it must have been late and no one was available to carry it. No if that’s your policy it should be for all times not just at their convenience. We ask for a one hour delay in checkout and was told they could for $50. When I expressed my disappointment in that, I was told that they were so busy and couldn’t accommodate any later checkouts. I ask then why were they willing to do it for $50 more dollars? No explanation was given for that…. The employee who I spoke with, I have her name but will not blast it, was uncaring to our issues and mainly said what we should have done. Don’t play the blame game with your customers, you make it right just as your card stated. And for that reason this will be our last stay at The Lodge."
