"My friend and I visited this restaurant before the COVID pandemic and had a rather disappointing experience. However, we decided to give it another shot a few weeks ago, and we were truly impressed by the remarkable improvements in the food, customer service, and overall dining experience. I can confidently say that this restaurant offers some of the best yaki soba and Japanese curry in town. One downside, though, is that I wish there were more curry in my dish, as I ended up with too much rice and not enough curry. The sashimi was quite good as well, although we did encounter a particularly fishy piece of salmon, which I'm not sure the chefs were aware of. Nevertheless, we are definitely looking forward to returning to this restaurant, as the owner and his staff are incredibly welcoming and courteous!"

"The service was incredibly disappointing—extremely slow! It took 10 minutes for anyone to acknowledge my presence, and I had to wave someone down just to get a drink. I noticed another customer sitting in the restaurant who eventually left because no one came to his table for such a long time. There were only about five other tables occupied, so there was really no excuse for the lack of service. By 8:30 a.m., the place was mostly empty aside from my table, and they started cleaning up around us, which made us feel unwelcome, so we decided to leave. The food itself was good; they just really need to improve their staffing and service."

"The service and everyone who worked there was great. My only problem is with the food. Based on all the reviews I was expecting some thing super great but it was all mediocre. When you sit there and compare it to places like sugar fish which is right down the street then it makes the sushi be come very questionable. Me and my friend both got pretty bad stomach aches late at night from the food"

"I live nearby and always come here for lunch alone or with a few friends. Its always great service. The staff is super kind and accommodating, and most notable the food is great! Everything on the menu is affordable, and the quality and presentation is outstanding. The drinks are also great! Usually quiet and relaxing in here, so definitely a good place to work, talk, or even just to have some peace of mind. I always wonder why this place is never packed in because I love it here! "Bottom Line: I would recommend. Very pricey, but the food was great and service was quick. Atmosphere: Quiet, low-light ambience, dark theme. Very spacious Food: We got two appetizers The Bang Bang Shrimp($15) was cooked very nicely. The batter was very crispy. I was expecting the sauce to be a bit tangier. Not as much flavor as I had hoped for. The Calamari Tempura($11) was much better than one I had at a very high end Italian restaurant last week in Destin. Perfectly fried tempura batter with juicy squid and the lime-wasabi teriyaki sauce that came with it was delicious. We got three different entrees Two of my companions got the $17 Double Decker(Shrimp tempura, cream cheese/crab meat, ebi shrimp/spicy Mayo, eel sauce, and tempura flakes) and the $17 Playboy(Shrimp tempura, cream cheese/spicy tuna, avocado, red tobiko, tempura flakes/eel sauce). They were both essentially the same to me, but I liked the Playboy better because I wasn’t a fan of the fibrous texture of the crab in the Double Decker. I typically love crab, but this time around it tasted kind of dry and tough. I got the $17 Picante(Spicy yellowtail, cucumber, Salmon, avocado, yellowtail, and jalapeño ponzu sauce. This was by far my favorite. The fish was so tender and all of the ingredients along with the citrusy ponzu sauce and the kick from the jalapeño just tied together so well. It was absolutely delicious. Service: Our service was very quick. The only complaint that I had was I ordered a Miso Soup as an appetizer and our waitress forgot it, but she didn’t forget to take it off the bill. This hurt the review as a good miso soup is one of the things I consider a staple at every sushi restaurant I visit, and I didn’t get to try it last night. Nevertheless, she fixed the bill when I brought it up at the end of the meal. Overall: Very pricey, but it was good. Expect to be hungry after one roll. I’d recommend three rolls for every two people. This is considering appetizers as well. The price for the value isn't quite there. Otherwise, great quality fish, great flavor, quick service, comfortable atmosphere. I’ll wouldn’t make it a regular dining spot, but I’ll be back."

"Overall, the food and service were quite good and enjoyable. The teriyaki chicken was tasty, and the chicken katsu was also solid. The fried rice was decent, and the egg rolls were delicious. However, the garlic chicken was disappointing—dry and lacking in flavor, and it didn't look too appealing either. Fortunately, everything else was great, and the sushi was enjoyable as well."

"Honestly really good pizza and subs. The eggplant parmesian is really good, as well as the Italian. It wasn't my first choice for a while, but I must say, they really have upped their game in the last year or so. I thoroughly enjoy their food. I think they're just short staffed like most of the town; It's been hard to get help around here. They do have frequent oopsies, but the thing is, the will fix it for you. At no cost, and quickly. They even let you keep a pizza if they messed up on toppings. Just check your food before you leave, if it's messed up when you get home well....it's partially on you. It's good practice to check your food before you leave somewhere; mistakes do happen and it will save you aggravation. They graciously and kindly resolve any issues. So tourists, don't skip on this place because of the bad reviews. They do have good food."

We stumbled upon Sunrise Bagel while renovating our home, and we were thrilled with the bacon, egg, and cheese on their fresh bagels—they're fantastic! "My ~40-person family came to Reno for Thanksgiving, and Sakana graciously agreed to our request for a dinner reservation. I really appreciate the care and coordination they took in preparing for the big event by asking us to place our orders beforehand, as well as making sure the order got to the right person on the day of. Special shout-out to the 4 sushi chefs and our 2 waiters (Asian man with glasses and blonde woman) for getting all the dishes out efficiently. We had a great experience and would come again! One feedback is the quality of the fish isn't the best I've had, but I set my expectations already when I come to Reno for seafood."

"They just opened this new location, and I was blown away! I've ordered from Sushi Runner for delivery before, but dining in this week was a whole new experience. The prices are incredible—almost too good to be true! The sushi was super fresh and the portions were generous. Plus, they offer free sauces and refills. The service was really fast and attentive. When you dine in, you can opt for a 2-for-3 deal on any rolls or appetizers, or get 20% off your entire order. This place is definitely a keeper!"

"the location is located on a back Scottish road in the historical roswell. the building is well designed, but small and divided into sections. the tables around us were extremely loud for our date night. but they all seemed to be drunk, so it is to be expected. we ordered our food right away, but everything came out at different times. I was ready to eat my main course before my man even had something to start. that was very disappointing as we were on a date. he was frustrated and we always asked where his food was. but the last few minutes later it arrived. I guess if you want to eat with your date, you need to make sure your food comes together and it was just okay."

"Unfortunately, the menu wasn’t available online when I checked, so I'm not entirely sure of the names of the dishes we ordered. First up, my absolute favorite was the Mushroom Risotto, which was delightful! It came with a side of kimchi; while I didn’t think they paired well, I enjoyed the kimchi as a separate side. Next on my list was the Kimchi Pancake, which was packed with flavor and had the perfect crispy texture—just delicious! We also tried a Ramen Salad that was fresh and tasty, with a light dressing that complemented the hot dishes nicely. For our shareables, we got the Wing Pops and Asian Spiced Ribs (though I might not have the names exactly right). I didn’t sample the ribs since I was already full, but my friends absolutely loved them. The Wing Pops were also fantastic. Everything was wonderful, especially the service. Our server, I believe her name was Melissa, made excellent recommendations, was incredibly attentive, and had a calming presence. If I owned a restaurant, I’d be thrilled to have her on my team. Plus, she sported a really cool tattoo that I appreciated as an Atlanta native. In summary: The service and food—especially the Risotto and Kimchi Pancake—were outstanding. I will definitely be back!"
