"The business practice here is really SHADY. The food was fine, the service was fine, but it's a price... dishonest, at best. You can note that the first invoice you receive has a much lower dollar amount than the subsequent bill (to sign and add the bliss). So, as an example, the first bill can say $95, but the next will say $100 after you give them your card without reason or explanation for the increase. If you follow your waiter to ask them to claim this is for credit card processing fees , but nowhere in the menu or initial entrance they give a difference for cash/credit price. The gas stations do this all the time, but they told you something. Since it is a business in NYC that has more laws than people, I would assume that this could be a practice that they want to stop ASAP. It is also shady that they also increase the "Recommend Gratuity" on the bottom of the receipt after they tacitly increase the invoice amount. Apparently they are happy to ask for more happiness on a part of the bill that doesn't even theirs? All you need to do is on the menu that there is a lower cash price, and there is a higher card price. Most reasonable people know why this offer exists, credit card companies do not give you all these benefits for free. But you don't hide it until someone has committed to an order and spends a meal. It's ashamed."
