"We have been to the Gaylord in Schaumburg before, so since we live in Chicago, we decided to give this location a try. The food here is excellent, but the service is quite lacking. I expected the restaurant to be more crowded on a Saturday night, but it was rather empty. The waiter couldn't get our drink orders right! Three of us ordered dirty martinis with blue cheese olives. I asked the waiter if they had blue cheese olives and he said they did. My husband ordered a gimlet on the rocks. The martinis not only came out not 'dirty' but there were no olives in any of them. The gimlet was served in a martini glass. When we asked for the blue cheese olives the waiter seemed quite old and we didn't want to confuse him by reordering our drinks dirty we were brought regular pimento olives. My husband's gimlet was served in a martini glass with no ice. So the waiter brought over a glass of ice and proceeded to attempt to pour gimlet from the martini glass into the glass of ice. We offered to help, but he refused and then spilled part of the drink on the table! The food was very good, but the service was slow. We were hoping that this would be our new 'go to' Indian restaurant since Jaipur closed, but we'll have to keep looking. The Gaylord in the suburbs is much better that the Chicago location when it comes to service, which is a main reason people go out rather than ordering in"

"Its difficult to nitpick about this place. As soon as I walked in, the chef/owner asked me if I had ever had Indian food before which I had not. He then went over the menu with me, patient and answering all my questions. He recommended some things for me since i said im not big on spice. He was the epitome of a gentlemen and he didnt feel like a sleazy car salesman trying to get me to spend more money yknow. The food itself, even though i ordered mild, had a bit of a spice to it but again im not big on spice so im just probably sensitive to it. I had Samosas for appetizer, Chicken Tikka Masala for my main, and Kheer (rice pudding) for dessert. The samosa wasnt super filling which is good as an appetizer but they were tasty. I didnt finish the Chicken Tikka Masala as the portion size was more than enough. I wasnt expecting to get half the plate size that I got. I'd never had rice pudding so to me it was fine it just tastes like white rice soaked in milk really, but someone told me it isnt supposed to be so like a soup. I really dont know, but thats the only reason I took one star. I can tell you it tasted good, sweet and light after a heavy meal. The service was great. The waitress was sweet in a southern hospitality sort of way and the chef came out and checked on the tables often. Overall, i enjoyed myself and if you're just trying out Indian like me, I'd recommend starting with Kebab Curry"
