"Friend of mine came to town to see a volleyball game with her middle school daughter. We met for Lunch at 1856. We were seated at a four top table upstairs. There are three levels. And there was a very large party of maybe 20 on the third level. I didn’t hear them or notice until they were leaving. So the acoustics are great for having conversations. There were two TVs by us and we were able to catch some football which was nice and unexpected for a place like this. We ordered mussels for the appetizer and they are soooo good! They taste kind of Smoky and aren’t drenched in butter (it is served on the side) so if you’re counting calories it’s diet friendly unless you use up all the butter. I had the veggie sandwich and it was delicious. It has pesto in it. My friends split a pizza and it looked really good. Our server was prompt and friendly. I had house wine as it was really good. My friend ordered Stella beer and it was served ice cold in a nice glass. Will definitely return!"
