"I really wish I would have kept the receipt so that I could leave direct feedback to our waitress's manager but since I don't have it, this will have to do. Its unfortunate that we had a bad experience here. Good Italian restaurants are hard enough to come by in SLC and when you come to one as expensive as this one is, you expect better. So I was completely thrown off and incredibly disappointed with this visit. Yesterday was my little girls 1st birthday so we chose Buca di Beppo to celebrate. To start off, I informed the waitress that it was our baby's first, thinking she might say a little something but she just looked at her and said, "oh thats nice". It didn't get any better from there. I let her know that I wanted to order a bottle of their wine and when she brought it to the table, she set both wine glasses in front of me, opened the bottle and then set it down. In front of my baby. Hmmm. Ok? It was bad enough she didn't pour the wine into the glass for us, she had to also set the open bottle in front of my baby to possibly knock over?? Moving on. So now the food is here, a giant salad (very yummy) and baked ziti. Although the salad was really good, the pasta was NOT al dente. It had been overcooked and probably was precooked and sat around for awhile before being thrown into a cooker to get heated up. It had zero flavor as well. I had to add tons of salt. Shouldn't have to do that with good Italian food. So a family of 3 come in and sit in the booth in front of us, the waitress energetically asks what they are there for and the folks reply that they are there to celebrate THEIR daughters birthday and the waitress says, "Oh were glad you came to celebrate here, happy birthday"! As she is saying this, she LOOKS OVER AT ME!!! WHAT???! Yuck!!!!!!! At the end of our terrible stay, I ask her if they have a smaller piece of cake for my daughter and she said that they had a small brownie sundae that she could have if we filled out the feedback using the web address and code on our receipt. She proceeds to tell me, "make sure you give all 5 stars cuz my manager looks at those". Ugh how tacky can you get. Really. Unfortunately, the link wouldn't work from my phone and I forgot my receipt so here I am. We spent over $100 and did leave her a decent tip despite the treatment but come on Buca. You can surely do better. Can't ya??"
