"This is an Italian family (mom,popowned and operated restaurant. You can feel the love and care in their food. They are warm and friendly. We tried their unique pizza and it was delicious. We shared an appetizer from my childhood and a dessert. Everything was fresh and very tasty!"

"Ate here w our kids and had a nice meal. Kids had a buffet designed for them which worked out great and. Ore higher end restaurants should heed this call. $15 each but included lots of choices which kids love as well as deserts and a drink. I had the swordfish which was a bit overdone and a bit tasteless. My wife had the filet which was served over a tomatoe based medley of zucchini and squash which really didn't go with it very well. Read reviews and told side of Russell sprouts was roasted but they arrived steamed and again tasteless. All in the best part of the meal was our excellent waiter. Ate at pacific grille the night before and that meal was a lot tastier."

"I really wanted to enjoy the restaurant, the setting is very nice on the inside. The problem is with their service, and probably management. The server seemed to be working hard, kitchen seemed to work hard, except they didn't run food out to tables, when we were there we saw drinks prepared at bar and sitting for 20 plus minutes, while there were up to 3 people behind bar not appearing to be doing anything. It seemed like the owners may have been working host stand, then wandered without helping. We watched food sit on the kitchen serving area for up to 30 minutes. It took us over an hour after ordering to get our food, which was varied. Fish was excellent, meatballs and pasta dishes cold, salads warm. I dislike bad reviews, I just wont go back though."

"We expected Pastai to be participating in Restaurant Week as well, but unfortunately, they were not. Since we had dined at Pastai before and knew it was good, we decided to stay and eat there instead of searching for another restaurant. The meal was excellent, as expected. I struck up a conversation with the manager, who apologized for the situation. Our coffee was included in our bill, but we still felt disappointed and misled. This feels like a classic bait-and-switch situation. I don’t understand how OpenTable can advertise a restaurant that is no longer in business. Was this deception initiated by the restaurant or OpenTable? I look forward to a response!"

"Food is excellent. We were late but called. The restaurant was very accommodating had our table ready, even tho' it was Friday evening on Valentine's Day. Hostess wait staff were very friendly provided great service. There were families, as well as couples and people of all ages. The biggest disadvantage is parking, if you are coming via car. We parked at free parking garage next to the nearby Harris Teeter but even that was fairly full. It takes patience to find a parking space near the restaurant. This would be great location for people able to walk to it. For those driving in from other parts of the Triangle like me, I recommend not going on a Friday or Saturday evening"

"Really disappointing Margherita pizza. Not my favorite pizza in Philly and wouldnt make my top 5 Margherita Pizzas--let alone top 5 overall pizzas. I can appreciate artisanal thin crust, but the crust itself was flavorless and charred. There were loads of air bubbles throughout--not just on the edges. The sauce had a lot left to be desired--in that there wasnt much of it. The cheese globs had hardened by time of arrival and I live fairly close to the restaurant. And the basil was sparsely sitting atop the pizza which was the most flavor I could taste. Im not usually a person to leave negative reviews but I would suggest trying another place. Maybe, Ill try the other selections and feel differently but this one wasnt it. If I have to reheat and bring out sauces and toppings to eat a $16 pizza, I think that says volumes."

"The experience was average. Although our server was friendly, she was quite slow. We had to wait a long time to place our drink order, followed by the appetizers and then the main course. It took nearly 20 minutes for her to bring us the bill. Additionally, the way the entrees were served was not great. They came out one by one, and my last guest received her meal long after the first entree was served. In fact, the first person finished eating before the last entree even arrived, which was disappointing."

The staff went so far above and beyond to make our night special that it almost seemed as if we were their only guests. "We Love Italian food and just moved to the area and came across this restaurant. They have a front dining area with small table and close setting with ambiance. In the back it is family style with bigger tables and open forum in a solarium. The host or manager took care of us served for us. He was friendly, helpful and brought out his favorite appetizer the grilled octopus( even though) we didn't order it. YOU DEFINITLY SHOULD!! We had two salads the olivella and the popeye both big full bowls, delicious, and beautifully presented. The food took about 10 minutes longer then it should have in between courses but was worth the wait. It is BYOB in case you want to bring a bottle to share as you chow down on your dinner. For our entrée we had two specials, the lobster ravioli and the veal. We could not get over the enourmous portion of the veal, that being said, we wish it was ever bigger. Pounded real thin and fried to perfection. It reminded me of my childhood. We actually picked up the shank and bite right off it to get every tender piece. As the hosts recommendation we ordered the cheesecake for dessert. It was homemade with a crumbcake crust. It was creamy and dense where you wanted to savor every bite. We will be returning. We have it mind for our next get together with a bigger group."

"However, when we received the menu, it felt like a typical cheap pizzeria menu, which was not in line with the restaurant's ambiance. I began to feel a bit misled. The menu looked quite basic, but the food that arrived was anything but. It was absolutely delicious! We started with the artichoke appetizer, which was fantastic, and the garlic knots, which were the only letdown of the meal. The pasta dishes were somewhat light on the protein, but they were incredibly tasty—everything is made from scratch, and you can really taste the quality. Our server was very professional and provided just the right amount of attention throughout our meal. We ordered 2 appetizers, 4 entrees, a kid’s pizza, and two desserts, totaling $180, which seemed reasonable given current prices. We'll definitely be coming back!"

"Found this place on Insta, made a Resi, appeared in a mall outskirts and they had half of the cage wall down what made me think maybe they were closed. They also had a radio station as a music game, so most of our meals had commercials blown through them. I was also calculated 12$ for a salad with the hearts of palms and wild spring mix. Then the tomatoes and cucumbers were only cut. How is LAZY cucumber circles?? That waaas avo on it. But the size was def a side salad size and perhaps worth 9$ maybe 7-8 Bc the location of the restaurant. My husband ordered the pasta in a cheese wheel. This is really only cooked in the kitchen and tasted in the Chz. I had this preparation other places, and it was Aldente to finish in the wheel is much better. They also only worked ONE wheel and ordered other tables that slowed down the process, which was already SOOoO Slow. Before passing the bike, we've been thinking about how slow the food took and what happens at a busy night? The night was maybe 4 tables. The best we had was the pizza. If we're back, it's just for pizza. The amount of basil was stingy. But crust and sauce were great. The staff was nice, but things like long tickets have been made, and the whole radio situation makes me wonder how could it not interfere? Or do they even notice?"

"Reading previous reviews, we were looking forward to having a wonderful dinner. We made reservations for 6:30pm as this was Mother's Day. We arrived early and there was a lines out the door. 3 parties for 6:30pm were waiting outside including us. We got our table around 7pm. There was someone playing playing an electronic keyboard by the door. He had an odd array of music for an Italian restaurant. He went from Oye Coma Va by Santana to Fernando by Abba. He had the back instruments play through the keyboard. He would sing at times too. Streaming music from computer would be more appropriate. Anyway, we ordered the highly touted garlic bread as the appetizer followed by the boneless short ribs. We waited 20 minutes and still no garlic bread. A table seated after us received theirs before us. Their waiter apologized for their bread arriving late and said it would be comped. Owura was much later with no apology. The short ribs came and seemed on the chewy side. I mentioned to my girlfriend that the varied music and the service reminded of being on a cruise or at a casino. We wanted to try the lemoncello for dessert but as slow everything came, we had it to go. That was the best part of the dinner. I'd give the dessert 4 out of 5. Then the garlic bread 3 out of 5. The short ribs a 2 out of 5. Service and ambience 1.5 out of 5. I wish it was better but hope it will improve in time."

"Don't let the location deter you. Sure, it's in Gates and part of a strip mall, but don't be a judgmental snob. The food here is absolutely amazing. The skirt steak is both a steal and incredibly tasty. The pasta is cooked to perfection, with a rich sauce that enhances the dish. The salads are generous enough to share, making them great for groups. Don't skip the appetizers; both the seafood assortment and meatballs caught our eye, so we ended up ordering both. One person in our group made a meal out of just appetizers and shared a salad. The risotto lover claimed his dish was delightful. The service for our party of seven was exceptional—helpful without being intrusive, and they expertly guided us to some great choices. WHY AM I WRITING THIS? If word gets around, I might struggle to secure a table in the future. The chef is also the owner and keeps a close eye on everything. This place is a must-visit!"

"Very good wood fire pizza! Came with my husband and 2 kids. We got the burrata app and that was just ok. Only came with 1 little toast we had to ask for a second. The pizza we got was good but they brought it out without the arugula which was supposed to come on it. Easily fixed though. Everyone loved the dough/crust. Service was definitely slow so if you are in a hurry I wouldn’t chance it here. It would be nice if they had just 1 or 2 items geared toward kids as well. Overall very good and we will come back."
