"our dining room experience was exceptional. we had a wonderful waiter. eating was excellent and the ambiente was perfect. our meal for the three of us with the tipp was just over $500. my only complaining is that I am there about 20 minutes early and after check-in with the host I asked if I could go into the bar and get a drink and she said yes. I went into the bar, there were two empty places. I sat on one of the stools and ordered a drink. the bartender was very friendly and nice. Before my drink was delivered, another host came up and asked me if I had set myself and had reservations for the bar? I was surprised because I never heard of this. She told me I had to go. I was insulted and uncomfortable. I asked her what I should do with the drink I had just paid for, and she said I could sit in a small chair in the corner next to the bar or I could wait in the lobby. first I sat in the small stool in the corner and felt very uncomfortable and awkward, especially when I saw others sitting in the load that I had just occupied while loading right next. it remained empty for the better part of 10 minutes. I finally moved into the lobby area with my drink and waited for my guests. Bar seats should come first served and they should never leave a dame after they order a drink and pay for it. I mean, I checked at the Hostess booth and was told I could go into the bar and get a drink. I should've asked if I could have a bar stool to go with my drink."

"'FRESHER IS ALWAYS BETTER! Prince Umberto Pizzeria Restaurant 721 Franklin Ave, Franklin Square, NY 11010 Today 10/26/2023, I took my Honey for lunch for the first time to Prince Umberto 's in Franklin Square, NY. We both love good home made Italian food. I read some nice reviews, checked out their menu online and saw items we both like to eat, so to not far away Franklin Square we went! It was about 2;30 pm when we got there, the pizzeria side was busy but the dinning area side was wasn 't busy at all, and that 's exactly where we wanted to go. Our waiter and server Johnathan greeted us and sat us at a nice comfortable table. I ordered something for my Honey and I to drink, nothing with alcohol, while we looked over the menu. I told Johnathan we were going to first try a few appetizers, and after that, if we were still hungry we would order something else. I asked Johnathan, please, DO NOT bring us all the food at once, as so many other restaurants seem to want to do! All that food at once just overwhelms you, plus sitting there, the food just gets cold before you get to eat it. Johnathan said, not a problem, tell me what to bring you, and I will bring it when you tell me, YES! We started off first with Littleneck Clams on the half shell, then we had whole backed clams that were just made, nice and piping hot, and so, so, delicious. Next we enjoyed a nice size pot of mussels cooked with white wine and garlic, Johnathan brought us their just baked HOT pizza dough bread with butter on the side, it was excellent especially when we were dunking the bread into the mussel juice! After that my Honey and I had to try their Trippa Napoletana, we both love tripe! This tripe with the sauce made at Prince Umbertos was so good, my Honey had to take some home! It had no potatoes, no peas, just tender cooked tripe in a delicious mild sauce, which I was also enjoying on the hot pizza dough bread too. Just delicious. Wow! While were eating, the owner, and the chef came over to us a couple of times to ask if everything was okay and to our liking, and if we needed anything else, which was very nice of them to do. We now were both pretty full, but I had to check out their dessert menu first, before we left. I spotted their Italian ice cream Tartufo, and my Honey spotted the Tiramisu. We suddenly found a little space to tackle dessert, OMG! They both were so yummy! Now as far as prices go in this day and age of high prices, this restaurant has very, very, fair prices for quality fresh food! And I might add, this is one of the very few restaurants that is not charging any extra fee for using your credit card, I hope they can continue doing that, we shall see? We shall return for sure. Their food was so good, and freshly cooked to order, just as if we were home, it was a delight to go to Prince Umberto 's in Franklin Square today! Johnathan did an excellent job taking good care of us. And if I am going write an honest review, which I am, I have one wish, we both love clams on the half shell, ice cold. The clams on the half shell we had today were really fresh, but they were room temperature and not cold at all? I wish they can serve them ice cold, the next time we come. All in all, Prince Umberto 's still gets 5 stars! One tip for all, go for lunch or early dinner, You will have plenty of space in their dining room!"

"Just Ok. So, not worth the price in my opinion. For the price and online build up as a fine dining experience, I expected a bit more. Yes, there were some highlights, and some low lights, in the end resulting in a mediocre experience. First, thepositives. Service friendliness and attentiveness was good. The soups and salads were good, in fact, the wedge salad wasexcellent. The side of steamed vegetables was cooked perfectly. Now, the ?just ok? items. The chicken fried steak wasaverage. The second basket of rolls (more about the first basket later) was ok, too. Two of the three sirloin steaks were ofaverage quality, but not as tender or flavorful as similar (and a lot less expensive) sirloin steaks at Texas Road House. Theside of steak fries was warm, but nothing special. And, the three layer chocolate cake, while it was clearly of thestore bought variety, was decent. Finally, to the areas for improvement. The first set of rolls, which were touted as?rightout of the oven,? were lukewarm and burnt on the bottom. The server did bring out a second set later on. My steak, ordered aupoivre, did not come au poivre. I alerted the server, who brought out a dish of peppercorns and a separate dish of cream saucefor me to make the au poivre myself. However, I?m glad I did have the au poivre, because without it, my steak would have beeninedible. It was so tough and filled with gristles that I had to cut it into tiny pieces and drown it in the sauce to eat it. For the server, who was very friendly and attentive, there were a few mistakes that I?m sure will be sharpened with experience. For example, he never took our drink order. He hastily filled our water glasses at the beginning, but didn?t offer any otherdrinks. The second basket of rolls was returned with our original half consumed dish of whipped butter since it was takenback to the kitchen for the refill of rolls, the butter dish should have been refilled and returned full. The wedge s"

"The food is okay, some things are very good and some things like the fried rice today was not good, but the tuna sandwich was great. But the review here is about my delivery!!!!! I asked the delivery man to leave the food on the doorknob in delivery instructions as I do when I order, always! I have a baby and I may be not dressed or what not, I never tip before hand, I tip and amount I tip will always have to do with the service I receive. I go back to grab hub and add appropriate tip as I did today as well. The man kept knocking over and over again! He did not leave! Woke up my baby, did not follow instructions to leave on doorknob. The tip I leave goes from $1-$20 depends on service of delivery. He did not only wake up my baby, but didn’t leave for so long that by the time he finally left, the food was Luke warm! Not only that! The restaurant called me and harassed me about tipping! clearly tip was not deserved, he told me customers are supposed to leave beforehand, that’s not smart at all, how can I tip before not knowing the service I will receive? Then he tells me if I didn’t tip before I have to tip with cash?! Outrageous! I always go to DoorDash and add tip after, well clearly he deserved zero, I still left $1 and that’s only to show these people that you clearly can easily leave the tip after, like I would have if they followed instructions and didn’t call harassing me, absolutely disgusting, they told me I didn’t open the door, because I didn’t want to tip, nasty! I always tip! Never cash and never beforehand."
