"Looks like an ex employee has a very bad case with the owner. Therefore, the extremely low star rating. I've been coming here with my family and friends for 7 years, and only once the food was not of good quality. The day they were reopened, the food was still really good. I actually use their dishes as standard to compare other outs. Golden Stars is always prepared *I think more traditional and tastes better than most others in the area."

"This was our first time eating Firestone 's. We chose to go there because our two go-to restaurants were closed after the holidays. I ordered their French onion soup. My wife ordered the cheeseburger. The food came fairly quickly. The soup looked good and the portion was what I expected for a lunch soup. I 8Unfortunately that is where the good ends. I took only one bite of it because it was so extremely SWEET. I have had many bowls of French onion soup but never have I had a bowl that was sweet. My wife tasted it too and was shocked by how sweet it was. Her burger was large and quite rare inside. She prefers rare, generally, but this was almost too rare for her. She had asked for medium rare. This was almost cool in the middle. She had French fries, which were dark and quite mushy. I don 't mind that she does so I had her French fries for lunch. The waiter didn 't come back to check on us until my wife had eaten most of her burger but not the middle rarest bit . It was at least 15 minutes. He asked how our food was and I told him that I did not care for the soup, explaining that I found it to be extremely sweet. He said that of course it was was sweet, it was made with Vidalia onions and brown sugar ?! . He did not apologize or say anything like I 'm sorry you didn 't care for it, . They did remove its from our bill, at least. With regard to the ambiance of the place: it was quite loud, but we expected that, at least."

"I have been wanting to go to this lodge/ restaurant for a while now, and I'm glad I finally did! My wife and I went here for our 16th anniversary. All of the staff (especially desk staff) were friendly, helpful and enthusiastic! They served delicious food and drinks, made to order. The prices were lower than what I was expecting for excellent quality food and drink. The hostess that was present for breakfast was busy but still seated us in the lounge area, and then provided excellent service. Me and my wife will recommend this experience to our friends and family and we will be back again soon. We purchased passports and that added a fun element to the experience, being able to collect the stamps and prized, although I admit I didn't realize how in depth it is going to be to finish the passport for a completionist such as myself. We ate and drank at the Cove Bar, cloud bar, and the lounge/ restaurant and our experience was great! My wife said she had a great time from beginning to end. Thank you for a great experience, that's only 30 minutes from my home lol"

"Simply the best experience I’ve ever had. We got reminders of our reservation and even a phone call to check on us since we driving for 7 hours the day before. When we got there, everyone was super friendly, amazing, and the food was out of this world. I’ve never had pumpkin ravioli and it was everything you thought it would be and more. They made my best friends night by bringing her some ice cream for her birthday! I cannot express how accommodating this place is, how friendly the staff is, and how the food was the best Italian I’ve ever had in California! I made a promise to them that we would visit again this year and I intend to hold that promise."

"My husband and I had dinner at this restaurant around 4 pm on a Friday. Luckily, we didn't have to wait for a table and were seated right away. We started with the Beer Pretzel as an appetizer, which was fantastic. For my main dish, I had the Bison meatloaf and thought it was delicious. My husband ordered the bison burger and also enjoyed it. Our waiter was very friendly and attentive. I highly recommend this restaurant for its great food and ample seating. The only issue was that the hostess initially seated us outside near a noisy family."

"My husband and I were in town for a concert and decided to eat here before heading back home. We arrived on a Sunday morning around 11:45 am and were told it would be a 10-15 minute wait. In less than 5 minutes our table was ready. My husband ordered the Baked Egg Dish (he says to request a side of salsa as it was a bit on the dry side) and I ordered the Baked Chorizo Scramble with corn tortilla chips. I’m not exaggerating when I say this was one of the best vegetarian entrees I’ve had in a restaurant in a long time. Our server wasn’t overly friendly, but the service was good. The price was very fair for the quality of food. The only thing that could have made the meal better was if they served freshly-squeezed orange juice."

"We had a reservation for 4. We were seated fairly quickly but were not able to actually sit in our assigned booth the benches were too close to the table and not able to be moved. There are 3 table booths along that area. It appeared that the benches had been moved at one point, giving a large amount of space to the 1st booth, less to the 2nd, and no ability to sit at the 3rd the one we were assigned to. I am not a large person and I could not fit. So, we were re seated to a table. We spent perhaps 5 minutes at the table before we were approached by the manager who had seated us in the initial location asking why we moved. His immediate approach and assumption was that we just moved ourselves. We had to move yet again because a reservation for a larger group was made and the space was needed. That group took priority over our reservation and reseating. Obviously we did not feel very welcome, even with a reservation. The service was fine but the food especially the fries were served luke warm, making them inedible. No staff came back around to check on us. We were not asked about drink refills. Or if we wanted dessert. It felt like we were an inconvenience. I know it was a Friday evening. They were busy, but not every table or booth was occupied, so service shouldn 't have been anything out of the ordinary. This is not the typical service I 've received at this location. Perhaps it was because of the full moon??"

"You know you are in a good, authentic place when the food literally transports you to your grandmother's house when you were a child. The black bean soup had this fantastic combination of ingredients that I have not found anywhere but in my grandma's kitchen. That soup, by itself, was worth the trip. The sword fish appetizer was very good and the pisco sour was fantastic (I know, pisco sour is not Mexican, but in any case, it was very refreshing and perfectly mixed). Price wise, well you are in NYC ... 'nough said."

"5 Stars isn 't enough to rate our experience. The food and service were amazing and second to none. We had a 10 top on NYE 2019 and hoped for the best since it was everyone 's first time at Shakou. The restaurant is spotlessly clean, modern and trendy with an upbeat vibe... which we loved. We were immediately seated for our reservation. Our server touched our table constantly throughout the entire evening, we never needed anything. The food and drinks were amazing! My favorite story about this night was the manager coming to our table after we 've occupied it for about 3.5-4 hours. He very politely asked if we could do him a favor and move our party to the common area by the bar so they could seat another party. He was of course aware we had already eaten and had dessert and were in the process of concluding our night anyways. This was a VERY reasonable request given it was NYE and we had the table for about 4 hours. We were happy to move our party to the bar area where they were nice enough to thank us with complimentary champagne. Awesome touch! The owner also came out to thank us for coming in and inquire on our experience to ensure it was a pleasant one. I cannot recommend Shakou enough. We 'll absolutely be back and thank you for making our NYE a great night!"

I’ve even raised my own livestock for meat and have experience hunting, so I know what great flavors are all about. "Probably the worst meal I've had in Cincinnati. We waited 40 50 minutes before getting served our food (saw other tables with long wait as well). Friend's order came out wrong. And my order of Portobello Mushroom Burger was a joke of a sandwich teenytiny mushroom a third the size of the bun. We mentioned it to the waitress and she looked into it, said that the chef knew itwas small but served it anyways. The manager came out to apologize and fired another one for us, but the burger was very okayand lackluster and the coleslaw had no flavor (not worth $17). When the bill eventually came, we were charged for the mushroomburger which we thought the Manager said he would comp. The waiter was visibly frustrated with the situation but did help usmake it right, thank you. TL;DR Long wait times for food and check. Below average food. Do not recommend."

"We went to the Sainte George for our anniversary dinner Saturday 1/6/24. It was nice and the food was INCREDIBLE. Dinner with 4 drinks, an app, two entrees and two salads was like $280 total including the 20% tip. Not bad at all! BUT our server at our table was the bartender also and while he was ... polite.... he couldn 't have been more bothered to be taking care of us. He didn 't tell us his name, he didn 't tell us the specials, he didn 't check on our drinks, he didn 't bring us our meals (it was the kitchen 's food runner I believe)... He got the orders right.... but outside of that there was zero interaction with us...We were even his customers at the bar prior to getting our table. When he was at our table, he didn 't even say Hi, have you had a second to review the menu? He didn 't say anything...like awkwardly silent... and we couldn 't understand him hardly when he did speak. It wasn 't a speech thing because I over-heard him talking to his co-workers just fine. I am not a complainer... like ever. I have worked in the service industry for years and have the most respect for the kitchen staff, servers, all of it.... Not to mention, we had a reservation for 7:00, and my sister, knowing it was our anniversary, called ahead Saturday afternoon and asked the manager to allow her to buy us two drinks on her credit card ahead of time as a little gift to us on our anniversary, and that wasn 't brought up at all during our dinner. Of course, I didn 't know about it then, but that same night once my sister asked if a round of drinks had been paid for..No??? So, we went back and the manager honored it and said she spoke to my sister personally and she just forgot about it. The servers around us were so kind and bright and at least somewhat engaged with their tables. Ours FELT like.... can I help you? why are you here? We felt uncomfortable and it was really weird and awkward the whole time. Again, clean, great GREAT food... beautiful setting, but won 't go back"
