"Namaste Flavours is our go to restaurant for Indian food in Ann Arbor. The dishes are truly flavorsome and exciting! This time, I particularly enjoyed the bhindi masala, which elevates a simple dish of okra to something much more special, with rich spices and herbs. As always, the channa batura was delicious and filling, fluffy yet full of texture, deep fried yet non greasy. Similarly, the naan bread was light, soft, and not oily at all. My wife ordered shrimp vindaloo, which had a strong kick to it. We are also particularly fond of the vegetarian samosas they are the best we have tried so far. Our waiter, Kishore, was extremely friendly, helpful and efficient. We were left completely satisfied by our experience and are looking forward to coming back soon. Update: We came back again the following day. We really liked the Mirchi Bajji, which was crisp, light and not too spicy. My wife thoroughly enjoyed the fish curry, which was tender and delicious. Most of all, the Sambar is an all time favorite of ours; it is tangy, sweet and spicy. Further update: We came back again, three days in a row the food must be great : . The Gobi 65 was crispy, freshly cooked and addictive, while the Fish Tikka was extremely scrumptious and tangy on a sizzling hot plate, accompanied by plenty of vegetables. I particularly liked the Ginger Paneer and how the creaminess of the paneer complemented the spiciness of the ginger. The Carrot Halwa was immensely delicious and rich in flavor. The food was so exquisite and superb, my wife ordered a fish curry to take out and indulge at home! Yet another update: The Apollo Fish is AMAZING and ADDICTIVE! It was not on the printed menu, but you can ask for it especially. The fish is lightly battered and sautéed with chilies and turmeric. It is tangy and spicy, with a lot of flavor. We definitely recommend it! We also ordered the Spring Dosa, which were crispy, fresh and very filling. The Aloo Bonda has a crunchy and light layer on the outside, with creamy and aromatic potato on the inside. We have noticed that the food served when dining in is fresher and with relatively larger portions than take out, so we encourage people to dine in, if possible, for the great atmosphere. Update: 05/19/2022: The paneer dosa is light, crispy, savory and with complementing condiments. We also ordered the Dal Makhani, which was rich and buttery, with a creamy and flavorful aroma taste. The tandoori chicken was also delicious."

"My vegetable vindaloo was phenomenal. Rather spicy, but also flavorful. I felt so much warmth and rejuvenation in every bite. It was unbelievable. It felt like bliss in food form. I didn’t miss the chicken whatsoever, as the vegetables did the job just perfectly. The rice was also warm and spicy. The food also looked beautiful. The vindaloo had a boiling red color that perfectly matched the exhilarating heat. I was doubtful about how good vegetarian Indian food would be, but Samudra didn’t just exceed my expectations, no, Samudra eclipsed all of my preconceptions about what vegetarian food could be. Samudra proved to me that meat’s importance may be overstated, at least from a culinary standpoint. Even without meat, the vindaloo was the most tasty I’d ever had. The spice was perfectly balanced: enough to pack a punch, but still scarce enough not to overwhelm the flavors. And boy, were they good flavors. Did I mention that this meal was $12? $12, for one of the best meals of my life. What a steal. Samudra is why I explore restaurants, to find something brilliant and different, that also illuminates me. Not only was the food brilliant and unique, my dinner at Samudra changed my entire culinary outlook. I once saw meat as crucial, and in fact, I was dreading an Indian meal without warm chicken or pork, but Samudra has changed my mind: vegetarian food can be as good if not better than anything with meat. Adjusted for price, Samudra is my favorite Indian restaurant, even without price, it probably still is. (Although Astoria’s Seva is phenomenal, too. But with price, this food is unbeatable. Not to mention that Samudra is a place I can take everyone: meat eaters and vegetarians. I left Samudra feeling both light, and enlightened. I love everything about Samudra, from the dingy aesthetic, to the expansive menu, to the amazing prices, to the unmatchable quality of the food. Is this my new favorite restaurant? Maybe. "One of our main requirements was to find a catering company that would not only deliver and set up the food but also provide chafing dishes, refill items as needed, and handle cleanup. Mahidhar worked diligently with us to create a package that included service staff for our wedding, collaborating seamlessly with our wedding planner and their team. In the lead-up to the big day, he assisted us in labeling dishes to indicate vegan options and allergens. We also wanted our guests to experience a Thali-style wedding lunch, and Mahidhar helped us source rentals for over 150 Thali plates—which was a significant accomplishment after our extensive research. Additionally, he personally visited our wedding venue and coordinated with the venue manager to address all the important logistics ahead of time. On the wedding day, Mayuri and their staff truly exceeded our expectations. After the ceremony, we entered to find the food and drinks beautifully set up, each item clearly labeled and the steel Thali plates arranged exactly as we had discussed. Our guests absolutely loved the food, which exemplified the authentic South Indian cuisine we had envisioned. After the lunch, everything was cleaned up, and the buffet setup was transformed for the evening reception dinner. For the cocktail hour, which was held outdoors, the appetizers were exquisite and perfectly arranged. The evening dinner featured North Indian/Indo-Chinese dishes, and once again, the food was outstanding. At the end of the night, takeout boxes were made available for our guests and for us to take home leftovers. The kitchen and buffet area were cleaned to the venue's standards, leaving everything in order. We are thoroughly impressed and wholeheartedly recommend Mayuri for catering services. Many venues in the Seattle area lack Indian catering options and do not provide service staff unless they cater themselves. Mayuri made our wedding day stress-free and fulfilled all our expectations!"
