"First visit on a Saturday evening and we had requested the patio. Excellent choice as we had a nice table for 2 in the corner where we could talk and enjoy our dinner. We brought our own wine and the friendly server brought an ice bucket for us. There is a $25 corkage charge if you bring your own wine, which is reasonable. My wife and I shared the proschutto with melon as an appetizer and it came with 4 pieces of cantelope, covered with prochutto, shredded nuts and balsamic dressing. Taste was great and it was a super choice to get us started, light enough not to fill us up but substantial portion to satisfy us. For the main course, I selected the Chicken Milanese, which is a pounded flat breaded and pan fried chicken, served with a slice of lemon to give the meat added flavor. You have options of what to have with the dish and i ordered the garlic mashed potatoes and grilled cauliflower. Taste was great (although Veal Milanese would have been superior to chicken) and makes a geat alternative to the usual pastas. My wife had the stuffed ravioli with ricotta and spinach and it was very tasty and she was happy. After polishing off our bottle of chardonney, we ordered their house chardonney which came chilled and was very good. To top off the evening we shared the tiramisu, which was moist, flavorful, and a great way to finish our meal. Service was attentive and friendly, nice relaxed vibe for all ages on the patio, plenty of free parking although we Uber when we have wine and we certainly will be back."

"What a find! This well established Japanese restaurant has a separate, SIX page separate vegan menu, using vegetables, veggie meats, and the vegan tuna product called Ahimi for some of its sushi and hot dishes. Their menu has more options than most fully vegan Japanese restaurants! If you haven't tried it yet, Ahimi is made by a vegan company called Ocean Hugger and is made from tomatoes and looks like raw tuna without the fishy taste, and has a super smooth mouth feel. So yummy! We have really enjoyed all of the specialty rolls which are all beautifully prepared (see accompanying pics). I personally much preferred the Satay Roll to the Siesta Roll because I found the mango salsa a bit overpowering on the Siesta. Other favorites were the Veggie Thunder Roll, Super Green, and Hippie Roll. A number of the rolls and nigiri use tempura vegetables so there's an added punch. The Gyoza (dumplings) were pan fried and wonderful. We tried the Hibachi Teriyaki Tofu which was great if you're up for a BIG dose of fresh tofu. The Gardein Chicken and Herbivorous Butcher Steak entree was more interesting and really tasty. We also had the vegan KimChi Udon noodles which was very good but I would be better with less oil. Overall I think the vegan sushi is the real specialty of this place and besides the Gyoza, I would be perfectly happy just doing an all sushi dinner here and going lighter on the hot dishes. When we ate there preCOVID, the restaurant was spacious but very comfortable, and service was very attentive. Ask for Kim if you call to place an order. She curated the vegan menu and was super helpful, although isn't there every night. Updated from previous review on 20210217"

"When a craving for authentic Tuscan cuisine takes over, a great place to tame it is one of three west coast-based Rosti Tuscan Kitchens in Southern California. Pronounced “roast-y” the Santa Monica locale reminded us that we didn’t absolutely have to be in Italy to enjoy the aroma of freshly baking bread, signature pasta and secret family recipe sauces, and all things savory involved with impressive Italian favorites sure to keep any food connoisseur pleased. It was a crowded Thursday night. My husband and I contemplated departing with the heavily populated eatery, but decided to wait a few more minutes despite. Before we knew it, the hostess led us to a candlelit romantic table for two window side, and left us with menus and wine glasses for the wine we brought with us until our server would arrive. The ambiance was warm and inviting and heavenly scented with the likes of fresh basil, crushed tomatoes, and pizza dough boldly wafting through the dining room from a busy kitchen in the rear of the establishment. A crusty warm fresh bread was delivered by our server, Lea, as well as a saucer of extra virgin olive oil and aged balsamic vinegar. This complimented the near perfect bread and made for a great companion to our red wine we began enjoying. A sure winner from the pasta selections was the Chicken Marsala over a selection of capellini as a pasta choice. A succulent Marsala sauce including Marsala wine, thinly sliced mushrooms and a sinful inclusion of butter, this signature entree is a popular choice at Rosti, and my husband thoroughly enjoyed each component of this meticulously prepared dish. Tender marinated grilled lean steak was cut into slices and served over a bed of shredded Romaine, then graced with Gorgonzola cheese crumbles, cherry tomatoes, caramelized onions and an incredibly succulent basil herb dressing. How much better could this have been prepared? We don’t have an answer to that question because in our line of work, this was pure bliss. The chilled crunch of the crisp lettuce contrasted nicely against the warm tender steak, while the house made dressing brought every bite together in culinary harmony. The Spinach Ravioli Special with a chosen Alfredo sauce selection and side of house marinara for a minimal additional charge satisfied my hankering for something house made, yet broke all rules of the typical Californian diet. Both filling and satisfying from the first taste to the final bite, this dish of handmade ravioli excellence was stuffed with spinach and covered with a generous portion of homemade Alfredo sauce that hit the spot marvelously! The combination of fresh flavors encompassed within the Milanese Sandwich had us debating whether or not to order an additional one to take home with us. Crafted with hand breaded chicken cutlets, the addition of fresh eye-catching arugula, fresh Mozzarella, tomatoes and a zesty pesto only enhanced the features of this flavorful phenomenon. A choice of 7-grain wheat bread, ciabatta, or fresh baked foccacia was available for our choosing, while a side salad or rosemary potatoes was offered as easily digestible side options. Feel at home when visiting Rosti Tuscan Kitchen because it is an establishment of delectable Italian cuisine, a cozy ambiance both indoors and on the sidewalk patio, and offers a multitude of seasonal specials and year-round favorites to satisfy those Tuscan food cravings that sneak up on us when we least expect them to. A relaxed lunch or a long romantic dinner will leave you fulfilled and returning soon. "Right from the start, Alisha didn't appreciate me bringing this up. I’m not sure what I was supposed to do in her view, but this seemed to trigger her dislike for me. She returned to explain that the manager wouldn't remove the extra charges because I requested spicy mayo and eel sauce on top of my sushi rather than on the side, which incur a $0.50 charge per roll. I told her I would have appreciated a heads-up about this charge before receiving my bill, especially since I had ordered my rolls the same way as I always do. During our initial interaction, she didn’t mention that the sauces would increase the cost. After this exchange, she simply looked at me and walked away, which left me confused and uncomfortable. About 5-10 minutes later, she returned laughing and shaking her head, but her demeanor changed when she saw me. The manager came over to explain the situation to me, and I reassured him that it wasn’t a big deal; I was just seeking clarification. Meanwhile, Alisha barely made eye contact with me, even while I was directly speaking to her. I was on the verge of tears, feeling unjustly treated while others watched, and all I wanted was to leave. When Alisha came back to me with a forced, passive-aggressive smile, she tried to “empathize” by saying things like, “I hate when the manager comes over and makes me look bad,” and “I still don’t know how I was supposed to know this, but I guess it’s a hefty amount.” During our back-and-forth, she even commented, “How was I supposed to know that the sauce had an added price?” If she didn’t know the price, then why was I being questioned for my concerns about the price difference? She took this situation way too personally for reasons I couldn’t understand. Throughout our interaction, I was as polite and friendly as I could be, just asking a simple question. I left a small tip and wrote a note that said, “Don’t take everything so personally and fix your attitude; not everything is about you.” As we left, she almost followed us out the door, sarcastically shouting, “Thank you, ma’am, for the lovely message!” I responded by saying I loved her, as it seemed clear she could use some positivity in her life. I won’t be returning. I can’t believe the manager allows this kind of behavior from their staff. I never expected such a backlash. Alisha could have simply acknowledged that she didn’t realize there was an extra charge for the sauces and said, “I’m sorry! Let me check on that for you." Even if the manager couldn't adjust the charges, a polite approach would have been far better than her passive-aggressive and rude attitude. I hope the management sees this feedback and takes steps to improve, as it reflects poorly on them if staff are undertrained. This was my go-to lunch spot with my best friend, and I have many fond memories here, but as I mentioned, I won’t be coming back. The food, however, is still amazing—fantastic sushi!"

"2. **Well-Structured Menu:** The menu at Anyways is carefully crafted, featuring a diverse range of dishes to suit all palates. Each option looked delicious, and as I observed the meals being served to other tables on the patio, it was evident that everything was prepared with great attention to detail. I particularly enjoyed the dedicated section for vegetarian dishes, which made navigating the extensive menu much easier. 3. **Versatile Atmosphere:** I don’t think I’ve ever encountered a restaurant as adaptable as Anyways. The owners have done an impressive job of creating a space that is family-friendly, intimate enough for a romantic date, lively enough for a night out with friends, and tranquil enough for dining with an elderly family member or even eating solo. The warm lighting indoors creates a relaxed ambiance, and the music is at just the right volume for conversation. The minimalist decor contrasts wonderfully with the modern architecture, producing an environment that feels both inviting and nostalgically familiar. I’ll be sure to share more photos from my next visit. Additionally, I must mention that the prices are very reasonable, and every item we ordered surpassed our expectations. 4. **Remarkable Flavor:** Each dish was beautifully plated, and everything arrived promptly at the perfect temperature. The flavors were exceptional—every sauce, from the chipotle ranch to the Caesar dressing, was rich and delicious without being overwhelming. The appetizers, particularly the mozzarella sticks, were downright heavenly, and every salad tasted crisp and fresh. My main dish was one of the best vegetarian meals I’ve had in the suburbs, loaded with generous toppings from cheeses to fresh vegetables, and the seasoning on the breading was spot-on. I even enjoyed the leftovers the next day, which speaks volumes for a veggie flatbread. I couldn’t help but dive into the generous serving of Oreo ice cream before snapping a photo (you can see the spoon marks!). In summary, I wholeheartedly recommend enhancing your next dining experience by visiting this remarkable restaurant. Anyways, you’ve truly earned a special place in my heart—thank you for a genuinely delightful experience!"
