"What a find! This well established Japanese restaurant has a separate, SIX page separate vegan menu, using vegetables, veggie meats, and the vegan tuna product called Ahimi for some of its sushi and hot dishes. Their menu has more options than most fully vegan Japanese restaurants! If you haven't tried it yet, Ahimi is made by a vegan company called Ocean Hugger and is made from tomatoes and looks like raw tuna without the fishy taste, and has a super smooth mouth feel. So yummy! We have really enjoyed all of the specialty rolls which are all beautifully prepared (see accompanying pics). I personally much preferred the Satay Roll to the Siesta Roll because I found the mango salsa a bit overpowering on the Siesta. Other favorites were the Veggie Thunder Roll, Super Green, and Hippie Roll. A number of the rolls and nigiri use tempura vegetables so there's an added punch. The Gyoza (dumplings) were pan fried and wonderful. We tried the Hibachi Teriyaki Tofu which was great if you're up for a BIG dose of fresh tofu. The Gardein Chicken and Herbivorous Butcher Steak entree was more interesting and really tasty. We also had the vegan KimChi Udon noodles which was very good but I would be better with less oil. Overall I think the vegan sushi is the real specialty of this place and besides the Gyoza, I would be perfectly happy just doing an all sushi dinner here and going lighter on the hot dishes. When we ate there preCOVID, the restaurant was spacious but very comfortable, and service was very attentive. Ask for Kim if you call to place an order. She curated the vegan menu and was super helpful, although isn't there every night. Updated from previous review on 20210217"

New on my vegan journey , staff gave good vegan roll options I enjoyed. Menus on the windows were meat based options; store has vegan signage . Due to pandemic, carry out is the only option, I did not mind . View menu

I really wish the system would allow me to give 5 stars because they have absolutely done their homework. I’ve only tried the sushi so far but it is much more than your basic avocado roll! Vegan cream cheese, vegan spicy tuna, vegan eel sauce and more! I will become a regular.

I only started going to the hibachi restaurant during the pandemic, but the food is always good and hot. They have the best steak and shrimp. It's a bit pricey, but definitely worth it. The two gentlemen who usually take orders are very nice and polite. I would highly recommend this place!

Would have rated this place five stars if the app allowed, but this place has DOZENS of options on a fully separate vegan menu. The staff is extremely helpful and always able to answer your questions. Got to go food while the Coronavirus has been keeping people in their full vegan menu is still available Thanks Otani’s! The service was slow, it appeared that they were struggling to accommodate a large party seated before us. I can only imagine how our experience would have been if the restaurant was busier. They nearly forgot to bring our dumplings and the crab rangoon was just okay, a little too crispy. However, the sushi was delicious. I'm not sure if I would return, I would prefer to go somewhere closer to home for sushi of similar quality.

Not only have they created a huge vegan menu but they have done their homework! They get their “meats” from herbivorous butcher and their “fish” from Good catch. There is a vegan version of everything they even use a tofu egg for the hibachi (which they make sure is completely clean from animal products). Amazing vegan sushi, apps, entrees, desserts, and we love the hibachi for special occasions! Staff is lovely! I could go on..

"Upon our arrival, the hostess guided us to our table and provided us with menus. Many tables were busy with diners. The food was very good, but the service left something to be desired. We noticed that only two servers were managing all the occupied tables, which made it difficult for them to keep up. For instance, I had to ask our server, Vanessa, to refill my empty drink, even though she passed by our table numerous times. Additionally, my dessert arrived without certain components that were listed on the menu, and the missing items were not explained to us. At the end of March 2022, we observed that none of the staff were wearing face masks, and while some male patrons donned masks as they entered and exited the restaurant, most did not. We entered the restaurant wearing masks and kept them on until we were seated. When we inquired whether wearing masks had an effect on our service, the server came over to take our drink orders. I requested an unsweetened iced tea, while my wife ordered hot tea. Unfortunately, her tea arrived as a cup of hot water rather than a small teapot. We began our meal with an appetizer called Pepperoni Rossi alla Griglia, featuring house-roasted red peppers with garlic and extra virgin olive oil, served chilled with a piece of bread. We each enjoyed a serving of wedding soup with our bread. For our main course, we ordered the Quattro Stagioni Pizza, which has a margherita base (tomato and mozzarella cheese) topped with sausage, artichokes, and roasted red pepper slices. It was delicious! The sausage was mild, and my wife enjoyed her meal so much that she took some leftovers home for dessert. I added a few red pepper flakes from the table to give my pizza a bit more heat, and I finished my pizza at the restaurant because we truly enjoyed it. For dessert, my wife chose the Napolean Limone, which she paired with a glass of wine. It was fantastic! The Napolean Limone consists of homemade lemon puff pastries topped with whipped cream and raspberry sauce. I opted for the Toni Spumoni, which the menu claims is the best in the country. However, while my dessert included the spumoni ice cream, it did not come with the whipped cream and candied cherries as promised. I was disappointed as it did not live up to its reputation. Overall, the food was good, and the atmosphere and decor were lovely. The restaurant is very clean, with two unisex restrooms— the one I used was well-maintained. I believe the service could significantly improve with a few more servers, especially when the restaurant is nearly full, although I understand that business varies. Next time, we may just opt for takeout pizza instead of dining in, as we feel the table service could be more reliable."
