"I have been dining here on and off since 1996. It's not the number one seafood restaurant that I I have discovered in the states, but it has been consistently good all these years, and thats not an easy thing for a restaurant to maintain. I had the fried scallops, flounder fantail shrimp it was prepared flawlessly. We started with cocktail shrimp and our margarita's we're as good as I make at home. Were going to miss this place once its gone. Folks, you have till the end of the year to get in before its gone..."

"Fish and chips were great. The kitchen has what it takes to deliver a crispy and perfectly cooked oversized fish filet and a good heap of fries. Slaw was nice but was lacking a punch. If you are in the afternoon hangry time, this is the place. Worth mentioning the efficient and friendly staff. Unexpectedly, the Guinness pour was not up to my standards but was close… head was not just above the rim."

"A wonderful pub close to Times Square with very fair prices, good food, and a wonderful atmosphere. The service was a little slow, but that is to be expected given the amount of people that were eating and drinking that day. Definitely worth the extra block or two walk to avoid horrendous lines usually found in the Times Square area."

"We are on a very strict diet and the chef was wonderful. Their cod is hand breaded in house so we could get the cod sandwich without the bread and have it broiled. Also got mixed veg instead of fries. My husband got sweet potato fries and they gave us enough for 5 people! They were delicious. Can't beat two fresh, delicious meals for $20. We ate in the bar instead of outside because it was muggy out. Lively bar at happy hour. Our server was very cute and did a great job. Thanks Sydney!"

"We decided to try this place for the unique pizza. The location was a little rough......harsh neighborhood, not near a lot of things besides factories. But once we went inside the place was welcoming, clean and great staff. The pizza offered many interesting options and was good. We also enjoyed the excellent service. Glad we went."

"The Local has been a favorite of ours ever since our youngest started attending UVA. It's been 5 years since he graduated, but we still go back to the Local every time we're in CVille. And still enjoy it every time! Saturday night, the salmon with green curry, which sounded interesting on the menu, turned out to be fairly plain. Still well-prepared, just a little less adventurous than we anticipated. Stuffed squash with goat cheese, which we've had many times before, still a winner. As was the crispy shrimp appetizer. Looking forward to our next visit!"

"We always have a great experience at Briggs. Although we were seated well after our reservation time, I understand that with limited seating due to COVID-19, it can happen. Usually, the service is exceptional, especially with Louis as our regular server. However, the server we had this time was quite slow; she didn't clear our plates and just placed my beer on the table without pouring it. That said, the food was excellent as always. Overall, I would give it 4 stars, and I believe this isn't typical of their usual service."

"What a fun place with a New Orleans style! The decor is super fun and eclectic, but still has the feel of downtown Wilmington, just Nawlins style : . Overall a 3.5...see below for why. I was worried because of the mixed reviews. I can understand why they are mixed. We started with oysters (Rue and Lafayette . Both were good and we enjoyed both but preferred the Lafayette. Our dinners were mixed..... the stuffed burger was delicious! Perfectly cooked at medium, as requested so it was juicy and flavorful. The fried oyster plate was not good. The oysters were over fried and tasted fishy... not at all fresh. That plate/dinner deserved nothing more than a 1 rating because of the onion rings. We both got onion rings and they were huge and crispy, with a cornmeal batter. I want to try more of the menu but will not be trying anymore of their fried seafood because of our experience. Perhaps they should reduce their menu and focus on fewer options. It was a large menu and based on the reviews they struggle with consistency. Overall, this is a fun place to eat at but not sure if I'll be back for a round two."

"I'm not sure if this review should be for Gilly's or open table. We had a reservation for 2/5/21 at 6pm. It was a 21st bday Celebration. It had been confirmed in open table and we received text reminders regarding our reservation. We arrived in a snow storm. The doors were locked. It wasn't even open! No one answered when we called. Ruined our bday celebration."
