"Service was terrible, server didn’t know anything about the food. She was nice enough, but far from knowledgeable. Another employee kept wanting to clear our plates, so we finally handed them to her with mouths full of food and forks in our hands. That was a bit annoying. Wine list is way overrated and WAY overpriced. It definitely seems like a “wannabe” restaurant. Everything is totally overrated. Food was actually good, but that was the only positive about our experience. Server said they didn’t have potatoes, but somehow my scallops came out with potatoes on the plate. Confused me even more. Glad I didn’t pay the for the venison that I really wanted to try. I would have ordered it if our server knew how it was prepared and what it came with. Everything about this place other than how the food tasted, was annoying and a complete letdown"

"Drove out from Glen Ellyn with another couple. Priced just below a high end steakhouse like Morton?s or Gibson?s, the food experience was almost comparable yet the waitstaff has a LONG way to go to complete the experience. Our server, when notmissing in action, was generally forgetful and inattentive. Dirty plates and empty drink ware stacked up on the table, disheswere delivered without the appropriate utensils, bread came an hour in just before our entrees, and we had to chase down ourserver after dessert to get the check (roughly 30 minutes from meal conclusion to finally getting the check?and without a thankyou). Did I mention I had to take my drink to the bar to get it garnished, as ordered? We tipped 20% anyway, if only not topenalize the other restaurant employees. Restaurant gets an 8.5 for food quality and presentation, and a 3 for service."

"We visited as our 9th anniversary dinner out. It was perfect. The ambiance was quiet, subtle and romantic. The staff very friendly, courteous and accommodating to our keto diet modifications to our dinner. The filet mignon was superior in taste with a melt in your mouth texture. "this was a special event, my partner 60th birthday. the people at the beach untiltro went out of the way to make sure that it was perfect. the bartender cleaned my sunglasses with vodka. the host/Maitre-d was exceptional, even arranged, my partner photo on the menu printed as a surprise. our server exceptional. the little bite of food we had was tortured, because unfortunately we had to go before we even ordered because of a personal family emergency. the entire staff was very gracious and courteous, never let us feel bad for that, and we only wish we could have stayed and had dinner. we will be back on the ass. we ate there once (3 years) and have dreamed of it ever since. his even, cozy, extraordinary."

"So we stopped to eat here on a whim as I do while on vacation. Was no wait to be seated and the waiter was friendly and did a great job. The place is clean for as busy it is and really quick with the food. We started with the run across America sampler it was served quick but the chicken was dry and cold was seasoned ok but chewy. The chips and artichoke dip were really bad asthe dip was dry and over cooked. Almost like it was under a heat lamp for way to long. Not enough cream cheese in it to make itreally a dip but a paste like concrete. The shrimp was good and the hush puppies were good. We got our plates I had the fishand chips. The fish on top of the fries were hot but we 're 75% batter and had no flavor at all. The fries were good and seasonedwell but we 're as cold as my ex wife 's heart. They were a little greasy as they were cooked way to long as the fish was dry andjerky like. My wife had the Jenny 's surf and surf and was sadder than when Jenny died in the movie. The salmon was dry but hada good grill marks and flavor. The shrimp that came with it was rubbery and over cooked barely eatable and the lobster buttersauce was non-existent. The only two things that I enjoyed was the drinks the lava flow drink my wife ordered was good as wellas the strawberry mango chiller I had. I would not visit this establishment again as there are way to many places in the area toget food that 's way better. They need to train the staff better and fire the back of the house manager. Letting food of thisquality leave the kitchen is an embarrassment to the brand. They truly need to audit the restaurant for quality control."

"Normally we enjoy Beach Tavern, but tonight was way off- from staff, to mediocre food and even a bug. The restaurant was uncomfortably cold; when I asked for it to be warmer our server told me there was nothing that could be done, and the door was already open The air conditioner was on, so there is definitely something that could have been done. As far as the food, the little neck raw clams were excellent and shucked properly. Chopped salad and coconut shrimp sushi was fair- nothing special nor memorable about either; but nothing bad either. The restaurant was well staffed but our server was not attentive nor helpful. Sadly, towards the end of the meal, I found a bug in my glass of water and asked the waiter to take the glass away. When I pointed out the bug to him, there was no apology or concern given. All-in-all, Beach Tavern was always a solid option for me; I will think again before I return and when/if I do I will definitely bring a scarf and/or a jacket because wearing a sweater indoors on a 70 degree night did not suffice."

"this place is a hidden gem. the love for detail was very noticeable and appreciated. When we arrived, we sat at the fireplace. all vibe immediately set, and if we don't sit by the fire, the outside is absolutely beautiful. I was shocked. my man got the butter beer drink with the keks (omg that keks was so dense and amazing) and it was amazing. as seriously the whip cream is so dense and tasty. total autumn vibes. I have the lavender blackberry drink and it was amazing. 10/10 only on the drinks. the server was so sweet and almost. our waters have never fallen 3/4. the spinach dip was phenomenal. so sulking and cheesy. our food was good too! I want to say I wish I had a steak and side because the cajun alfredo noddles were not my favorites, but the meat and sauce were big, regardless of it, and then the cupcakes at the end. I wanted to order a dozen. (smart marketing) and the bathroom omg fancy. all about beautiful amazing experience. will be back for drinks alone soon because the drinks were seriously the best I had in joplin."

"We hit the Rusty Nail during our annual CM trip at least once. The food is great, freshly prepared ingredients breakfast, lunch and dinner. The atmosphere is second to none (especially outside. It’s conveniently located to where we stay but that might not help most. Like with most places, especially in peak CM season, the service has suffered dramatically due to staffing shortages. Definitely make reservations ahead of time as they easily sell out and walk ins frequently get turned away at peak times. We still go because all the other restaurants have the same issue…and because we love the place and are trying to support them. Looking forward to this Summer ‘22!!"

"Nice place to do lunch. Has a beach side bistro feel to it and the outside seating is comfortable although the plastic chairs are a little rickety. Not many choices for sandwiches and almost everything seems to come with avocado which I'm not a big fan. The burger i got which was the F bomb was very tasty. The cheese sauce for the fries is AMAZING! Highly recommend the cheese sauce even to dip your sandwich in it. The wait staff was a little slow and didn't seem to have too many customers to make them slow. Not sure what that was. Still a great place for lunch!"

"I rarely give 5-star reviews, but this restaurant truly met all three phases of dining. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with smiles and exceptional hospitality. I requested to sit at the bar to watch the basketball game, and it was no issue at all. Once seated, our server Dazz took great care of us, providing fast service and promptly answering our menu questions. Our orders were taken accurately and served promptly without any mix-ups. The shrimp was cooked to perfection, beautifully presented, and absolutely delicious. The restaurant was clean and well-organized, with friendly staff that perfectly matched the atmosphere of the place. I also recommend trying the calamari as well as the fried and baked shrimp."

"Super restaurant. Most beautiful setting I’ve seen for a restaurant, all done by the restaurant. Spectacular outdoor plaza, well covered by an a-shaped roof and huge umbrellas on the sides. Lovely garden and flowers and waterfall from a man made ridgeon the periphery. The staff was the best, courteous, friendly, and efficient. The tenderloin meatloaf was the tastiest I’veever eaten due to seasonings and touched of other meats that enhanced its flavour. The chicken Parmesan penne creativelycombined a marinara sauce in the chicken with Alfredo on the penne. Even the green beans were special. A superb dessert, buttergoo cake, was a St. Louis specialty adapter snd densifier for even better flavour and texture. Kudos to Luke from Denver. A‘must’ to eat at."

"We went there and wouldn’t even last 5 minutes, we chose to sit up the second floor for a party of 8; 5 adults and 3 teens. For some reason the idea of having two separate table for our party was an impossible thought for the lady that received us in the second floor… we offered to have separate bills and we would take care of tipping separate as well, we just wanted to have more space for the adults and the girls. This lady constantly said no and the only option she could offer was to add two chairs to a very uncomfortable table by the door because they have done it before. "Our server, Kat, was amazing! She was attentive and friendly, and handled the busy floor with ease. The calamari here was the best I've ever had - Kat mentioned they batter it themselves, which really makes a difference. I loved it so much I even ordered a second plate! The homemade bread that came with the beef stew was delicious, and my sister really enjoyed the crab dip. The cheese cake with caramel drizzle, whipped cream, and strawberries was the perfect way to end the meal. The strawberries tasted incredibly fresh."

"Food was too salty (salmon) and not hot. Brisket was too fatty. Not enough healthy menu options. We were seated in a dark room upstairs with our table angled by the door. I imagine to make room for the staff to maneuver. Asked if we could move to be in the main dining area, but it felt like I was asking too much, so I dropped it. Our waiter was pleasant and he provided excellent service. It's a shame, this place used to be one of our favorite places to dine. Maybe we'll go back when the weather cools and we can sit outside."

"we were greeted right away and ushered to our seats as we had a reservation. Appetizer came out faster than I expected and the drink order was slightly delayed but no biggie.Food was great. Ambiance was to our likingnot too loud and interior decorated nicely and interestingly. We had a great experience. They may want to look at expanding or changing the choices of wine. The food menu was heavy on fishseafood but that suited us. It was our first time and it was a nice dinner and a nice place to celebrate an anniversary. Value was normal, the wines were a little pricey though. We will definitely go back and make a regular stop once this Covid thing is done"
