"My wife and I wanted a nice laid-back place to sit outside and enjoy a fun dinner. We ended up being very disappointed by the service. Our server took about 10-15 minutes to get to the table (which feels like an eternity when you are waiting to order beverages). They took our drink order and quickly returned with a cocktail and waters but the beer we ordered was delayed by a few minutes. Not a big deal, but then the night went south. We didn't see our server again for a very long time. We started to feel like our appetizer was a little delayed when food runners showed up with our entrees. No app in sight. We let them know and eventually the server brought our app. But we were halfway into the meal by that point. The food tasted fine. Nothing extraordinary but not bad. The nachos, I admit, were delicious. The mac and cheese we ordered was described to have bread crumbs but was missing that. Fortunately the server had it taken care of pretty quickly. We were never asked about having our drinks refilled. And after eating, we waited a long time for our check. It just seemed to take forever for everything. None of the problems by themselves would have been a big deal, but together it added up to a somewhat unpleasant experience. The server was nice and apologetic. They also comped us the appetizer which was nice. May have been an off night or maybe a new server, but I can't say I would recommend going on a Saturday night. Also, we did enjoy the outdoor seating area. It was a little tight, but the ambiance was nice."

"The best Japanese rice meals in town come from this place. They have a strong Japanese-bias authenticity, which means their food are not too Americanized . Japanese is my favorite cuisine, and this is one of the best I 've had here in WA. This is my guilty pleasure, and I come here a lot (sometimes daily, or every other day . Japanese curry is my favorite curry, and they do it right, with their katsukarē (offered in both tonkatsu and chicken katsu . It reminds me Kyoto for some reason. I have tried almost all their entrées, and I am delighted to say that I have never been disappointed. While their more American-friendly breaded food like tempura, katsu, and furai (fry entrées are fine (definitely better than anything in the area , their rice bowls are where it 's at. They do offer a variety of food that others are too afraid to serve like saba (mackerel and kaki (oyster . Even their pork belly ton toro bowl is a treat. I also love their bento entrées, as they come with macaroni salad. This one is definitely a Filipino-Hawaiian influence. They 're bigger bento do come with maki instead. They also sell a variety of Japanese snacks, and even some cold Ramune 's. The only real thing I do not like is the small menu — although that is not necessarily a bad thing. I do however wish they have katsudon/oyakodon, and some ika or tako (squid/octopus — gotta love those tentacles! entrées. Finally, the staff are great, they always smile and will definitely remember your name."
