"Most of the staff were friendly, but service was slow due to the busy NYE night. Some tables waited 35-40 minutes for their appetizers before us. The food arrived relatively quickly for us, but the drinks took some time. The staff appeared overwhelmed, so we understood the delay. Unfortunately, the lobster salad I ordered was inedible and came with dressing despite my request for it on the side. The lobster was overcooked and unpleasant, so I had to send it back. Although offered a replacement dish, I opted to share the overcooked paella. The salad was removed from our bill, but a 20% gratuity was added for 2 diners, which the server claimed was standard for NYE. Though skeptical, we didn't want to cause a scene and just paid the bill of nearly $200 for the two of us. Perhaps the food and service are better on non-holiday nights."

"Lumes Brunch Cafe consistently impresses. To provide a balanced review, I’ll start with a few drawbacks. There are times when you enter to find many open tables, yet still have to wait to be seated. I believe this is due to the limited number of servers available to manage the tables. Additionally, there have been rare occasions when coffee refills take a long time, which can be a bit frustrating. Lastly, their weekly or weekend specials could use more variety. This would be a great opportunity to introduce new and creative dishes to see if they should become permanent menu items. For example, visiting the Crispy Waffle on a Saturday reveals that they offer three special dishes. Since we dine here so often, the menu feels a bit repetitive, and we would welcome some fresh options. Now, on to the positives. The wait staff is superb. Out of the six or so servers working on weekends, there’s just one we’re not fond of, but it’s only because she is very businesslike. Most of the servers know exactly how we like our coffee and bring it to our table without needing to ask, which we really appreciate. The food is consistently excellent. We've probably visited the Willowbrook location around 175 times in the last two years, and in all that time, we've had only a couple of complaints, with the worst being my own oversight. Each time, they offered to get me something else, showcasing their outstanding customer service. The hostess always greets us with a smile when we arrive, and sometimes the owner even stops by to check on us. Lumes in Willowbrook truly embodies what a restaurant should be."

"I have been wanting to visit this restaurant for years to see the cats and kittens, and they definitely did not disappoint - they are so adorable! However, the food was also fantastic and the atmosphere was perfect. I tried their homemade mushroom soup and quiche, both of which were delicious. While parking can be a bit tricky, they do have a small dedicated lot if you are lucky. Don't let that deter you - it is definitely worth driving around the block. After your visit, you may find yourself seriously thinking about adopting or fostering one of the cats or kittens."

"I've been coming to the Cracked Egg forever!!! My husband I stumbled across it one day when we were on that side of town. And we've taken alot of different family members, and they always ask to go there for breakfast when they are in town. Remember, we dont live close to the Cracked Egg. We travel about 25 mins. Every dish I've gottan has always been delicious!!! Their Signature French Toast has got to be my favorite...And I usually dont order french toast from anywhere, because I love my recipe at home, but these are Delizioso!!! Make sure to try the Chorizo Breakfast Tacos, house made chorizo and so very good big portions!!! Everything you order is BIG portions!! The hamburgers, steak fajita breakfast, pork chop breakfast, chicken fried steak breakfast, regular over medium eggs, hashbrowns sour dough toast is even really good. They use good quality items/ingredients!!They literally have THE BEST COFFEE!!!!"

"I love the opportunity to support small local businesses. Vonda's has been my go-to place for monthly brunch with a friend. I enjoy the fried fish, fried chicken, and other southern menu items. On my last visit, I ordered the jumbo grilled shrimp and was very disappointed. The shrimp were not jumbo and very overcooked. It seemed that they were frozen shrimp (versus fresh) which may have affected the texture as well. With that said, the server was very professional and helpful when responding to my concern. She was pleasant and offered to bring another order of the shrimp which she did. Unfortunately, that did not resolve the problem, so maybe it's just they way the menu item is prepared. Out of my appreciation for the server and my past positive experiences, I didn't make any further fuss about it. However, I wouldn't order the shrimp again."

"Was craving a hearty breakfast, and im so happy and full! Got the American Sampler with blueberry pancakes, my over medium eggs were perfect, somehow even after being togo and delivered! Crispy bacon, it was all perfect. Got a side of Corned Beef Hash and it was large portion for the price! They remembered to give me a bag with ketchup, butter, syrup and utensils, with a happy face drawn on the side with silver sharpie. Made my day! Thank you!"

"My cousin and I came here for breakfast today. As I live in the area, I am actually surprised I had not been here before now...but hey, better late than never. I got there first and got our table situated, and when my cousin came it was time for usto eat! I ordered the Aloha omelette with pancakes and a side of bacon, and my cousin had a Belgian waffle and some bacon. Letme say, at first glance, the place looks slightly dated but don 't let that fool you...the food and service here is pretty damngood! Tiffany was our server, and she got us started with juice and coffee. She had such a pleasant demeanor and was prettyattentive the entire time, and didn 't even mind when my cousin ordered food to go. I will say we were there about 10:30 in themorning and the place was hoppin '! But, you seem to get a table relatively quickly. Anyhow, the omelette was great! Pineapple,jack cheese, potatoes, and ham. the hash browns were pretty crispy, and the pancakes were nice soft just like I like them. Notto mention, my coffee was awesome!! My cousin said her food was good also! Overall, I would definitely come back. Outside ofthe place being slightly dated as I mentioned before, this was a nice place for food, coffee, and conversation with my cousin.Also, the food is fairly priced. "we were looking for a black breakfast restaurant and I am so glad we found this jewel! we had the garnel and grits that were amazing (although not a pick) the consistency was on the point and the jumbo garnels were tailored and spiced to perfection. also the fish (whiting) and pour with iron and homeowners were perfect. the fish was well seasoned and delicious, the home owners were delicious, the eggs were perfectly cooked. also the blueberry as well as the strawberry limonade were delicious (if they like sweet drinks). it was worth the 40-minute drive from our hotel. we had hoped to return to the city today, but unfortunately they are not open on Tuesday. we will definitely return when in nj."

"Prices were good- about 20% less than most other breakfast joints. This made the steak and eggs well worth, steak was a good size and nicely cooked- but the corn beef hash was not acceptable. Completely different from the bright pink, meaty portion in the review from 5 years ago. There were about 12 tiny pieces of overcooked meat.. think chunky dog food, and the other 95% was over cooked potatoes. I actually piled all the tiny pieces of greyish brown meat together and it was about the size of half of a sugar packet. I was very tempted to ask for a refund but decided to just leave this review and allow the owner the opportunity to respond- I’m happy to update the stars if I receive a response here."

"This was our first and last visit to this restaurant. I’m giving it two stars because the service was excellent; our waiter was very friendly. Unfortunately, the food was not good at all. The omelette I ordered had two slices of American cheese that didn’t even melt—just terrible. The coffee tasted like water, the pancakes were not fresh, and the toast was drenched in butter. "Great atmosphere and good service. However the food was seriously lacking. I had looked their menu up online was hype for the chicken waffles based off the description on the menu. I was very much disappointed. It was not big, juicy, crispy chicken tenders as I was anticipating but instead what I'm pretty sure was flavorless, frozen tenders thrown in a fryer for a few minutes then cut into little pieces. The waffle was fluffy but had zero taste. A little cinnamon or vanilla or really anything would have gone a long way. Honestly I think I would have been as content going through Wendy's drive through for breakfast it would have been 1/4 the cost. Probably will not return can't say that I would recommend to others."
