"Got lunch here at the tail end of their lunch rush this past Friday. I saw that they were busy but I had gotten my order for a Raider sandwich before another rush of customers. Unfortunately, the folks behind the counter made at least four other customers’ sandwiches before mine, so I was stuck waiting for a bit. I asked for ETA on my sandwich and was met by rudeness and excuses that they were busy, and the owner telling his employees to make my sandwich because I was “unhappy”. Yes, I was getting hangry and needed my food but didn’t need the condescension. Owner’s son was apologetic enough but didn’t make up for the rudeness of the owner. I was trying to support a local business but not with this attitude. A simple “sorry, your food’s coming right up” would’ve been good. Sandwich wasn’t bad but I don’t think I will be returning."

"After visiting this local safeway store my husband and I left disappointed with the service and attitude of the employee who helped us. Our receipt was incorrect and when my husband showed it to the representative she scanned the item and the same incorrect price came up, so she proceeded to check the shelf and had us wait. It was priced incorrectly and we were given back in cash $1.98. I then said what about giving us a gift card for the error in pricing, however, the representative ignored me and we left. I was still feeling annoyed and when I went home I called the main number of the store trying to get to speak to a manager. I had to go through the meat dept. extension in order to get a manager on the phone, and when I finally did I got the same person who helped us in the store, Betty, who said she was the manager. This is not about the money it is about the poor quality of customer service and their attitude, despite that I was told I could come back and pick up a gift card, I find this unacceptable customer service. I hate that this is our local store, and recommend you go to another grocery store if you can."

"This is a nice place that's above a fast food chain, serving high-quality sandwiches. It's a one-stop place to buy really thoughtful gifts for anyone, too. You can choose a variety, but there is not an overwhelming list of sandwiches, wraps, and desserts from their menu. It's simple, and for me, this is better. I saw many things I wanted to buy while waiting for my order. I ended up coming back the next day purchasing two cute baskets filled with wine, nuts, chocolate, and other little snacks. I found it to be a great bargain and made the best gifts for my daughters end of school year appreciation for her favorite teachers. Above all- my sandwich was amazing. The bread is so delicious, too. I could not finish my sandwich. I had to eat the second half the next day."

"I went to Safeway to buy oysters, I got there at 7:20pm and they close at 8pm in the meat&fish product dept. The employee said that he can't help me because he's training somebody and I asked him nicely if he could just help me real quick because it doesn't take that long to pack the oysters and the fact that they're still open but he said he can't. I was so disappointed. My wife went there to try if they'll help her she got there 7:25pm and same thing he didn't help her. My wife called the manager and told about the concern. The manager talked to the employee if he can help her and the employee told to the manager that he can't because he's training somebody and asked the manager to watch the trainee so he can help my wife but the manager didn't do anything. So they ended up turning away customers. The manager could've done something to this problem since the employee offered an alternative way to help my wife but he wasn't willing to watch the trainee. I understand if you're short staff but if the customer got there on time no matter what you still help customer. This is one of my BIG DISSAPPOINTMENT to Safeway Hollister! Hope this won't happen to other customer."
