"Food was very good. Impressive service when it comes down to the bread service and the clearing of the table. The server himself was very dry, straight to what are we drinking what are we eating. Did not mention any specials, did not acknowledge the special celebration. The place is beautiful, very clean, will return for food and ambiance, however it was almost empty on a Saturday at 8:00. Hopefully we get another server!"

"I took my girlfriend out for a birthday lunch, and the weather was lovely, so we chose to sit outdoors. However, the birds outside were quite aggressive and had made quite a mess on the chairs. It would be a good idea for the staff to clean them in the morning before guests arrive. When we first got there, I couldn't find anyone for about 10 minutes before being seated. On the bright side, the staff we did interact with were friendly. The salmon salad we both had was excellent, but we could have easily done without dessert. Overall, I probably won't be returning."

"My friend and I decided to come to eat at this location because we were visiting the area. When we arrived we were greeted in a manner that was rushed by the hostess. She proceeds to tell my friend and me that we had five minutes to order and told us to go to the bar. We sat at the bar no one came to take our orders etc. I decided to go speak to the host because of the time we only had two minutes left to order food. I told the hostess the bartender never came and she was extremely rude giving me a lot of hand motions and implying he is coming. She brush me off and was nonchalant about trying to help. My friend and I left. To get that type of treatment when the establishment didn't close until 36mins when we first walk in the door. Maybe this is how local DC treats their customers. Visiting DC was great throughout the entire weekend until we decided to go to this establishment."

"We had a great lunch at Wa Jeal. Starting with spring onion pancakes (delicious) and ending with chicken and broccoli (again delicious), the lunch menu (rice, main course and soup) was very cheap and delicious. The environment is wonderful - brick walls and pretty decorations and the service excellent. Highly recommended!!"

"My daughter and I came into the hotel to grab a bite to eat. We came to the Nassau Coliseum for the Blood Manor show and were famished. We entered Cook and Kettle and the host Neil and the waitress Tia. We were treated royally. The White Chedder burger the Chef Sandwich. The food was delicious. We both had the Tito Mule drink, EXCELLENT! We came back after the event to enjoy dessert (it was my daughter's birthday and Tia and Neil went the extra mile and brought her a chocolate cake with a candle and ice cream (on top of the order! and sang Happy Birthday! They made her birthday. This restaurant is 5 stars for the food and the SERVICE! Thank you Neil Tia for taking the time and having such kindness, its rarely seen these days. Please come and have a great time. My daughter and I have decided to make coming here a tradition!"

"My wife and I were married at streamsong and love the venue. We love the location and the breathtaking views. My wife even hosted her companies Christmas party here last year. With that being said, I was very unsatified with our recent experience. After booking the reservation through Open table I called the resort myself to be sure everything went through. I spoke to a young lady who was very nice and she confirmed that the reservation was set. I then told her the reason for our visit which was my wife’s birthday and I wanted to take her to streamsong for dinner. I asked what could be done for her birthday and she said they would gladly do some sort of Dessert, possibly a slice of cake or cupcake. And I responded that this would be great. She then noted it under my reservation. While at dinner our server was courteous but not present as much as I would have liked. We finished dinner and waited for around 15 minutes before the check was brought out. I gave my card and she took the bill. Quickly she returned and told us to have a great evening. I then sat there and tried to make conversation with my wife hoping that they would come out to surprise her. We sat there for 30 more minutes waiting and never saw our server again. Well this ruined our nite. I hadn’t planned on getting a cake for my wife as I was expecting to be getting something while at dinner. To say this was a let down would be an understatement. I am unsure where the disconnect was between my call to the front desk earlier that day and the wait staff but as I said it ruined my wife’s birthday dinner."

"Ate here w our kids and had a nice meal. Kids had a buffet designed for them which worked out great and. Ore higher end restaurants should heed this call. $15 each but included lots of choices which kids love as well as deserts and a drink. I had the swordfish which was a bit overdone and a bit tasteless. My wife had the filet which was served over a tomatoe based medley of zucchini and squash which really didn't go with it very well. Read reviews and told side of Russell sprouts was roasted but they arrived steamed and again tasteless. All in the best part of the meal was our excellent waiter. Ate at pacific grille the night before and that meal was a lot tastier."

"This was our second experience at Appalachia…so, yes, it was worth coming back! A great restaurant experience begins and ends with exceptional people and Appalachia has 5-star people. We had the sea scallops and the wagyu flank steak (daily special . Both were cooked perfectly and expertly presented. Generally speaking, we are not dessert people, but we could not pass up the candied pretzel spiced apple pumpkin cheesecake. Yes…that’s right…all in one serving. Amazing. This is not the cheapest place around Lake Lure…but I can assure you, we’ve eaten at the lower price point places and there is a distinct, positive difference at Appalachia that makes it worth the extra . Between the people, ambiance and the food…Appalachia ranks as high as it gets in western NC (yes, including Asheville! ."

"It had been a few years since I visited Barnie's and I was really looking forward to the food and coffe but I was extremely disappointed. For lunch I had half of a cuban sandwich with chili and they were both cold and bland. The chili tasted too sweet, and it didn't have enough of a rich broth to aid in flavor. The half sandwich was very small and dry. The person preparing it even left a small piece of deli paper inside of it which was so careless. As far as the coffee goes it was bland and not the quality and flavor I would expect from a coffee roaster. Customer service was fine and the only reason why I didn't rate this place lower. It's unfortunate to see a Winter Park establishment go down in quality like that."

"Dined at Prime two years ago and were wowed. This was the basis for our lunch reservation. Sadly, the restaurant had moved physical location within the hotel and the menu changed considerably. New digs and menu were a work in progress - sat in bar area while final touches were being made. (Previously, this restaurant and its fare were top rated by Forbes. Now it is an upscale cocktail lounge - sad to say ambiance lost and menu was constricted - nothing special. Sorry Service was good and pleasant. Hope the new dinner menu is more memorable than our lunch! Give them a chance..."
