"Brown's Soul Food is a bit of a mixed bag. They have the same menu every day, which can get monotonous. I ordered the pot roast today, and it was dry and not well-seasoned. Their smothered chicken, smothered pork, turkey wings, and other dishes are decent, though. The black-eyed peas remind me of my mom's cooking, but the dressing always seems to be burnt on top. The oxtails were overcooked, with the meat falling off the bone and settling at the bottom of the pan. If you prefer your oxtails that way, then go ahead. I only chose to eat here because my usual spot, Q's Restaurant in East Point, GA, was closed. Their oxtails are tender, the meat stays on the bone, and they're smothered in a delicious, well-seasoned gravy. Overall, I’d give it 4 stars."
