"Had been going to Big Ed’s for a few years. Went there this morning for breakfast and a formal meeting. We were eating and going over our business things. I understand it was a Saturday and starting to get busy. A lady came over- not even sure if she worked there but came to our table and told us “Hi, we could really use your table.” But it came across very rude. It took us by surprise. Ones working there stood there very uncomfortable. I made the comment of being so caught off guard- and that it made the good food a completely unpleasant experience.Positive- Our waitress was wonderful and very accommodating."

The new sausage is horrible. Stick to what made you famous. Just landed in Raleigh and went straight to my favorite breakfast spot, Big Ed’s. This was a BIG EDs disappointment.

I've been here twice. Lunch once and breakfast another. DELICIOUS! It's a tad more expensive than other places, but it's worth it. If you plan to get pancakes... Just one... trust me.

The food was served hot, and the coffee was both hot and fresh. I really enjoyed the homemade potatoes; they were perfectly seasoned. The server was a lovely, polite lady who was very helpful!

We love Ed's for breakfast and dinner. I recommend the French toast for breakfast and the chuckwagon steak for dinner. The cinnamon bun cake is delicious!Kid-friendliness: Lots of memorabilia on the walls for the kids to check out. View menu

Nice, quiet country atmosphere. The food is delicious and the service has been great. I've been working in Garner so Big Ed's is convenient for lunch. I love the onion gravy and tried it on the fried okra. What a treat that was. Definitely coming back for Prime Rib Friday.

Would have given five stars had the food been fresher. Definitely intend to return and try earlier in the day or morning. Was impressed with the country style food selection. Love the at-home welcome atmosphere and the staff was fabulous. Nothing like entering a place where everyone has a big welcome on their face.

Not nearly as good as Big Ed's North. SO GO TO BIG ED'S NORTH!!So, I took my BFF from the west coast here, bragging about how good the southern food is (based on my many dining experiences at Big Ed's North) and our food was simply not good. I'm also surprised that the server did not even notice that I had only taken two bites of my food and my friend had only taken a few of hers. View menu

Big Eds from Garner never disappointed. The restaurant is big enough that you never wait to sit. There are many parking spaces on the common shopping center. The food is the typical diner menu cooked for perfection. Staff, including our amazing waitress Gabrielle, are extremely attentive. Your cup never gets empty. Eggs, bacon, sausages and fries are the best you can find anywhere. The price makes you a dedicated customer. We split a pancake that is 1/3 of the “Tee Shirt Challenge”. Treat yourself to a rich breakfast at Ed’s.

The food here is always good, at least in our experience, and the wait staff excellent. I give the three star review because now Big Ed's is charging a $3.00 fee for using a credit card to pay. This is new and is not posted on the door, included on the menu, nor mentioned by the wait staff. We were completely unaware until we stood at the check out counter. I understand these rates have gone up for restaurant owners but if an establishment agrees to accept credit cards, then the fees are part of doing business. I seems awfully close to gouging to me and left a bitter taste with us.
