"I made a reservation for 6 on a Saturday, early afternoon. When I showed up, the hostess and the manager said that they don't take reservations and there was nothing they could do. Unfortunately, I wasn't the only one, as the group behind me had the same issues. I understand technical issues, I really do. However, with a larger group, we tried to assist the establishment by letting them know in advance and to no avail. If I wanted to wait an undetermined amount of time for a table, I could do that by popping in. I'm sure that there are things that were out of their control and affected this. I'm not complaining, just letting people know that the reservation system is suspect and don't count on your preplanning efforts to matter."

"Food was fabulous; wait staff proud of chef and the farm-to-table experience. Dates with bacon and sausage to die for. Service was sub-par. Busboy when clearing the table, ended up dumping the ketchup on my husband's shorts, leg, my sneakers and the floor( btw the hamburger was 5-star). Busboy more concerned about the floor. We needed to request additional napkins, soda water to clean ourselves up. No comp, no apology-hey business as usual. So dings on the service- and our wonderful dining experience was less so."

"I had an excellent dining experience at this restaurant, enjoying delicious food complemented by a stunning water view. We dined in for dinner, and the price per person was quite reasonable, ranging from $10 to $20. The food was exceptional, earning a solid 5 out of 5, as was the service, which also rated a perfect 5. The atmosphere was delightful, making it a perfect spot for a meal. I highly recommend trying the steamers and fish and chips!"

"Recently came here for Portland Dining Month, the menu for which was concise and delicious. The cocktails are also great, highly recommend them if you enjoy alcohol. It was obvious the staff was very overwhelmed, be it due to the increased interest due to Dining Month or if they happened to be short-staffed that night. We had a reservation, and were seated almost minutes late, and then were not greeted by our server for another minutes. The courses were slow to come out, but we were not in a rush to be anywhere and enjoyed each other. This will be a great spot to dine at in warmer weather, as they have outdoor seating overlooking the harbor, which will make for some spectacular sunset views. Would give it stars were it not for the slow service. Thank you to all the staff there!"

"I recently dined at Affina for my 26th birthday and felt compelled to leave a review on how great the experience was. The restaurant is cozy, modern, and in a perfect spot in downtown Carmel. It's the perfect mix between casual and elegant. Andreas, our guide for the evening, was energetic, fun, and knowledgeable he gave us excellent service despite a very full dining room and many other tables to attend to. We started with the burrata which was very fresh and delicious. I had the carbonara and my girlfriend had the steak. The carbonara had one of the better sauces I've ever tasted on any carbonara and the pasta was cooked perfectly. The steak was also well cooked and came with its own delightful sauce with tasty side veggies that had a very distinctive, original cook and flavor. Two common dishes that the chef put a refreshing and flavorful take on. Mark the piano player took the evening to the next level by leading the restaurant in singing a happy birthday for me. This might embarrass some so know that my girlfriend specifically asked for this and not only did Mark accommodate her request, he was gracious, genuine, and professional about it. The little things like Mark's personal touch are what made the meal, night, and restaurant so memorable. I've dined at a lot of restaurants in Carmel, where there are many fine ones, and Affina was among the best dining experiences I've had. Thank you Affina! Cheers, Evan"

"SEE BOTTOM: BAD CHANGES Service was great, I like a casual atmosphere. Staff was patient and helpful. Smash Brown was very greasy, at least it seemed as greasy or more than a McDonald's one and I'm not a fan of that. Coffee was nice and they have syrups so bonus points on that. I had asked for an extra egg on my bagel sandwich but he misheard me and put it on an egg bagel instead. Best mistake, that egg bagel is <3. Double check your order if you're very particular. He offered to toss another egg on, which I appreciate, but I'd just been making sure I got what I paid for. Definitely more expensive than Einstein but I think the flavor is worth. They clearly cook on a flat top griddle and I love that flavor. EDIT: Has gone downhill. Floor was very sticky, almost held onto my shoes, which says it needs to be cleaned, badly. I work at a hospital so that's kinda not cool. Also, I went once after 630 and the door was locked. Their hours on said door said they were open. I also called three times to put in an order ahead so I could grab it and go but nobody answered their phone. I even mentioned this to the staff and she didn't react, just asked for my order. Seriously, rude."

"The crepes are absolutely delightful! I ordered the English lemon crepe, and it was simply perfect—a harmonious blend of zesty, tangy, and sweet flavors. The crepe was warm and expertly prepared, offering a taste that is both sweet and refreshing. The smoothies were equally impressive, smooth and delicious without being overly sweet, leaving you feeling fresh and energized. The service was quick and friendly, and the food was nicely packaged. The menu is diverse and caters to various dietary preferences. I highly recommend this place!"

"We were greeted by the hostess promptly and shown to a seat in the bar where we could wait for our friends. There we were waited on promptly by the bartender . We ordered drinks and my husband ordered the she crab soup which was amazing. When our friends arrived , we were promptly shown to our table. A person arrived at our table and poured water for us each. I thought he was the water boy. 25 minutes passed before anyone else approached our table. And then, only because we asked the hostess why we were not being waited on. Turns out the “water boy” was our waiter. Anyway, I ordered the short ribs, which were also, amazing. I would definitely return. And hope our server is someone other than “ the water boy”."

"Laurel has become my go-to in Austin. The food is world-class. Each dish that I had was perfect. Last night, we started with the calamari served hot, crisp, and in a bed of a bechamel-like sauce and drizzled with parmesan and some chili. The octopus we had the night before was also perfectly charred and in a sauce worth ordering. The fingerling potatoes were the perfect accompaniment. My partner had the Italian sausage and peppers pasta, and the pasta was perfectly al dente, and the sauce was intensely flavored, rich, and yet not overpowering. I had the halibut that was perfectly cooked, flaky pan-seared, and crisp on the bottom. The custard-filled donuts were a perfect end to the meal. I have to mention that I have dined here four times, and the food has been a pleasant surprise each time. The food always arrives piping hot and fresh. The service is terrific as the waiters have been there for years, know the menu, and can guide you to the night's best dishes. They were conversational, knowledgeable, and yet not overbearing. I noticed that someone did not like the crab cakes for breakfast, and I'm afraid I have to disagree. The crab case beenys were fantastic when I had them for breakfast yesterday. The custard-drizzled french toast was a masterpiece, and I would drive back for that alone. The chicken and waffles were the best I ever had; the chicken was perfectly fried, piping hot, and placed on top of a wonderful fluffy waffle."

"Located in the heart of Havertown right off of Darby road, Sophie's BBQ provides a quiet location to enjoy staple BBQ cuisine with a creative twist. My girlfriend and I started with the hand cut fries tossed in their homemade cheese sauce, and an order of the brussels sprouts. Fries were crispy and seasoned well, and we both agreed that the brussels sprouts were a must-order. Pickled jalapeños and candied bacon brings to life what can otherwise be a relatively bland dish. For main courses, we opted to split a few items: BBQ Sandwich (pulled pork) was tasty and we enjoyed the seeded bun. Pork was a bit on the dry side and I could've done with some more sauce to compensate but overall, great flavor. Side of beans was a nice touch- with a slight coffee taste, they are unique to most bbq beans that I've had previously. BBQ platter was a great choice if you are interested in trying a few sides. We went with the half pound of brisket, coleslaw and mac and cheese. Brisket was smoked to perfection with marbled fat that melts away in your mouth. Eat it while it's hot! You definitely pay for what you get though; Don't forget your wallet Friendly service and a filling meal left us more than satisfied, and we will certainly be back soon!"

"There is no question the food is excellent. We make it a point to dine here when we are in HHI. We had an off service night. There was a large party and apparently because of this it took an ungodly long time for us to get our main courses. Our server seemed a little disinterested in us. Also, they don 't have copper Mule mugs. The drink does not taste the same in a glass...this is just an FYI. We will go back though, because the food and ambiance is amazing! Hoping this was just an off night."

"We went to this place on Valentine’s Day. very good atmosphere, we ordered muscles and seafood jambalaya and snapper. The muscles and the seafood jambalaya were cold unfortunately, and the service was very slow. The snapper was delicious and freshly made. The service and the temperature of the food took away from the experience. Food was kind of pricey for that kind of experience if they fix those things I think they would be better."

"Pancakes were great! I could barely finish my two, these are large pancakes. They were also excellent. My carrot cake pancakes far exceeded my expectations. I expected a too sweet pancake flavored sort of carrot cakish – which it was not at all. There were bits of shredded carrots, plump raisins and walnuts – with a nice hint of sweet spices. They were absolutely perfect. Mr. Grey loved his ultimate pancakes. You can see the hearty oats, very filling. Coffee was good, was kept refilled. Definitely recommend! "

"Be clear that this review is during their renovation which was NOT clear on website. They moved the restaurant to the middle of the lobby of The Marriott. The noise level is horrible. Kids running underfoot of waitstaff the whole time. Worst of all, every time the front door automatically opened very often) , wafts of cigarette smoke poured into dining area. Change smoking area for now please! Food was tasty but very cold. Our waitress was good but the hostess was awful. We asked to be put at a table away from a large group of kids, as we had someone who didn’t hear well and she rudely said all our tables are reserved and walked away. This was at 5:15pm. I’ll come back and give it another try when their renovations are over. I’m sure it will be better"

"I ordered the shrimp burger, which was supposed to come with lettuce, tomato, and lemon aioli according to the menu. However, what I received was a tasteless shrimp patty that was dry and lacking in flavor, with only a small amount of sauce. The restaurant ran out of food by 7:30 pm, even though they were supposed to be open until 9 pm, and only had drinks available. The fries were greasy, though I did enjoy them. Unfortunately, three of my friends who arrived at 7:30 were unable to order any food due to the lack of inventory. I would not recommend this restaurant and do not plan on returning."

"We had friends staying over on New Year's Eve and were searching for a place to enjoy breakfast/brunch the following morning. We discovered that the Knick would be open and made a reservation for 10:30 AM. We arrived on time and were seated right away. The Bloody Marys were fantastic, and the breakfast entrees were wonderful. The service was excellent, and the food was superb. I highly recommend this place!"

"The food was absolutely delightful. I ordered the pasta Romesco, while my partner chose the special, Steak Diane. Our server suggested adding some spice to the pasta, and I took her advice—it was a fantastic decision! The pasta wasn’t too heavy, which can often be the case; the texture was spot on, and the extra spice really enhanced the dish. As for the Steak Diane, it was cooked to a perfect medium-rare, juicy and tender, with just the right seasoning. Accompanying it was a generous portion of creamy, fluffy parsnip mashed potatoes and perfectly cooked asparagus that balanced crunchiness and tenderness. Our server, Crystal, was incredibly attentive, knowledgeable, and quick to respond to our requests. The sous chef, Austin, even came by to check if everything was to our satisfaction. All the staff we interacted with were friendly and professional. Overall, it was a wonderful and enjoyable experience. I would definitely dine here again and highly recommend it to others!"
