"The name West End Wine Bar Pub doesn't do much justice to the restaurant. In my opinion, this is an amazing business-casual farm-to-table restaurant and bar! This is great choice for dinner. There is a pub downstairs. Excellent salads, appetizers, entrees, and sandwiches. Everything on the menu is fresh. Salad options are especially well done and are as fresh as it gets. Local farm sourced meats and vegetables are featured and are frequently available. The atmosphere is like a relaxed fine-dining restaurant. Service has been outstanding! Very popular place. The venue is a nicely repurposed beautiful former 1915 inn. They do take reservations, which during typical dinner times, fill up quickly, so those are a must. Once in a while we luck out if just stopping by to check on the spot availability. However we usually find immediate seating if we make reservations avoiding typical dinner times. There is also a very nice new enclosed outdoor seating area. Parking is free and available, although can be a bit tight at their busy times. Handicapped accessibility is very good; multiple handicapped parking spaces are close. There is a wheelchair lift from the parking lot to the restaurant. The menu is artfully designed and executed. The kitchen is highly competent and hardworking, providing orders within reasonable waits. Everything on the menu is excellent. Portions tend to be large. An appetizer and a salad can make a whole meal. The short ribs entree is not to be missed. The pork chops are also a favorite entree. The full bar is very capable. The bar area is a very good seating option if tables aren't available. They offer creatively-done cocktails. Very good bourbon list, quite a number of favorites are included. Wine list is carefully curated and is well rounded. It's well worth a visit, and no kidding it will be a happy experience! We have been there many times and it's always been very good. It's tucked away on the west side of town, but it's not to be missed. Highly recommended!"

"I loved this place and went here for a few dates with my partner over the last couple of years so it's a shame for me to say I will not be returning. I would like to note that the food has for the most part been good and comforting. I ordered the Cheese Tortellini Mushroom with Sage Sauce. While I'll admit, the order says sage in it, it was a lot of sage, more than a handful of leaves for one bowl. I could not eat it because the taste was so strong. I cook with fresh sage and other herbs at home so this was not just a new flavor to me or something of the sort. The waiter came by a couple of minutes later and asked how the food was. I politely said it is a little too much sage for my liking. He told me just a moment and brought someone else to the table. This man, who I believe is the manager or owner, made me feel uncomfortable the moment he came over. He, in a rude tone, said, What's the problem? ... I again, repeated that the dish just had a bit too much sage for my liking staying polite and respectful. He replied, Okay??? And stood there staring rudely at me. I felt red and tears welling up the tension was so thick. Finally he said, annoyed, what do you want me to do about it? . I was not expecting anything, I only answered a question from the waiter. After a minute he asked, What? do you want it re made? Again, this was not nice, this was rude and condescending. I told him, if he wanted to. I had no expectations and did not even ask for a manager to be brought to the table, let alone for someone to talk down to me. The dish was re made, however I was so disturbed and embarrassed by how I was spoken to that I left the restaurant. At this point my family was almost done eating so they finished and met me at the car. They did get the replacement dish. I want to note to the owner that I was experiencing a rough day. It was an anniversary of a loss. I was taken out by my family to be cheered up. I understand you may be offended that not everyone will like all of your dishes but that is the nature of working in any service industry. Please be mindful how you speak and treat people, especially your good paying customers who come to your restaurant for respite and enjoyment."

"TLDR: Ambiance 5 stars Service 5 stars Food 4 stars (scallops and tortellini 5 stars!!! Lamb lollipop 1 star) The interior space is very spacious and elegant with a lot of fine detailing in the walls, the chandeliers, and even the bathroom. The service is also excellent--we were greeted promptly at the door without a reservation and seated in an area to our liking. Throughout our dinner, the chef and the waitress would regularly check in on us to make sure that our dining experience was going to our liking. As for the food, our favorite dish by far were the scallops. They were so soft and had, an amazing texture that I've never had in a scallop before, and they were so flavorful. I was very sad when we finished the third and last scallop. our second favorite dish of the evening was the duck confit tortellini. The flavors and the textures of this dish were excellent, and the touches of sweet and sour notes of the cranberries and orange zest blended really well with the fall homeyness of the butternut squash and pumpkin seeds. Both of these dishes were very reasonably priced at under $10 each. Unfortunately, the other three dishes that we ordered that evening were not as impressive. The fall flat bread was tasty, but nothing to write home about and in my opinion, not worth the $16 price tag. The Deconstructed stuffed Portabella was very interesting on the menu, but unfortunately didn't taste very good when we got it because it was quite dry and flavorless. Lastly, the lamb lollipops were my least favorite dish because the crust on the outside was extremely bitter and the meat of the lamb itself tasted and smelled like it had gone bad, to the point where I could not finish my lamb lollipop. However, I give the restaurant the benefit of the doubt that it might have just been my lamb lollipop that was defective because my friends portion was satisfactory to her. Overall, this restaurant has, a really fine extravagant interior with a great service staff. They have a couple dishes that are spectacular and worth revisiting the restaurant, but they also have a few dishes that just missed the mark that evening."
