"I really wanted to like this place and support a new restaurant, but had a pretty poor experience (due to both the Food Hall and the restaurant itself). Based on the really high ratings, I recommend you try it for yourself perhaps my experience was an anomaly but for a $59 meal (for two people), I do want to share the experience we had. The ordering process was pretty confusing for me. I generally try to order directly from restaurants so third party websites don 't take their hard earned money, but The Bussdown 's website only has certain items available to order and, for example, when you choose the 2 protein Big Homie Bussdown, it doesn 't let you choose which 2 proteins you get. So then I realize I have to order food in person. After much confusion (which is not the restaurant 's fault there was a very long line at the Food Hall that took about 10+ minutes to get through on this Saturday night, and the ordering kiosk at the Food Hall was broken), I finally placed an order, which was scheduled to be ready twenty minutes later at about 8:31 PM. Even though I had checked in on the tablet and went in the very long line a second time, my name never showed up on the screen. I called the restaurant 2x to check, but no one picked up. So I got back in the very long line a third time, and at 8:49 PM finally got to the counter, where the Food Hall person recognized that I had been there for almost an hour at this point and scrambled around trying to find my food for several minutes. Then someone comes running out of the back with my bag of food, about twenty minutes after the ETA. They didn 't pick up my calls and I noticed they weren 't busy with too many orders (I only saw 2 Bussdown orders in the 50 minutes I was waiting in the Food Hall), so not really sure what happened with my order. The food smelled delicious in my car, and I couldn 't wait to eat it after waiting for so long in a very crowded Food Hall. The adobo pork, plantains, and yams were indeed delicious. However, the cheesiness of the mac and cheese did not pair well with the hard texture for me; I would say you probably need to reallllllly love cheese to enjoy their mac and cheese. Ultimately, the fried chicken was a letdown. Growing up in the South, fried chicken is my favorite food, but this one unfortunately tasted like someone accidentally spilled a bottle of salt on the chicken."
