"Maybe we hit them up on a bad day (a slowly Sunday) but the food was pretty disappointing, the chicken soft tacos did not have any seasoning on them and so much sour cream it was 2/3rds of it...and made the whole dish cold. The quesadilla was just chicken and a very small amount of cheese, no vegetables just a ton of oil in the to go tray, so much that the quesadilla was soggy, it was literally just chicken and like a sprinkle of cheese, no exaggeration. The meals were also inconsistent, I ordered chicken tacos and asked if they could do a steak tacos as well, the chicken tacos had lettuce, tomatoes and some cheese...the steak tacos literally were just steak in a tortilla. The food overall tasted like it was not fresh and something just tasted off, almost like an artificial/chemically taste to it...it was strange.I don't really enjoy criticizing the quality of others work because it's their livelihood but at the same time something definitely has to give here. I would be willing to try them 1 more time in hopes it was a bad day but overall I probably will never return. I was expecting at least bit better than a chain chili's restaurant and was surprised when a chili's restaurant beat out this place.I highly doubt we will return here again simply due to the fact most of the issues above are visible and noticeable....so they could easily be fixed...they were just CHOSEN to be ignored."

"BEWARE!!! This used to be a weekly meal for us when we lived nearby prior to moving about 10 miles away. About 3 months had passed since our last visit. I was in the area with my wife and we decided to stop for a late lunch. It was 2:36 when we arrived to take advantage of the lunch specials, advertised to last until 3pm. Our order was finally taken and entered into their system at 2:47, documented by my receipt. We finished our meal and received our receipt at 3:28pm. I noticed our meals where priced higher than what they had listed. I pointed this out to my server who stated it was because it was after 3pm. I explained we arrived just after 2:30, and ordered well before 3pm...probably served our meals prior to 3pm as well. She went and spoke to another employee who came to our table and gave us the same story. I told him this was absurd, and that if this was their policy, it should be clearly outlined that you need to leave before 3pm or get charged the regular prices. This is probably against the law, and I could have probably insisted on an adjustment, but I had other commitments that I had to take care of. Due to this small dollar amount, nothing more than a greedy overcharge, they are not only getting this one star review, they are also losing a regular customer that has giving them business for 15 years . Just remember this review if you decide to visit and order a lunch special!"

"I wanna start by saying I’ve been in the restaurant industry for 21 years, so I can be a bit critical about restaurants, because my free time to dine out is very limited so when I go somewhere great I want to brag about it as much as possible!!! Visiting New Jersey with some of my best friends and we were in the mood for some authentic pupusa’s, so we did some research and decided to go to La Pupusa Loca and OMG!!!! They did not disappoint!!! The atmosphere was on point the service was fantastic (our server Thomas extremely attentive and made sure we had everything we needed so I definitely recommend him for your experience!! , and we had no idea that Fridays they had Live Music!!! All that and I haven’t even begun talking about the food!!!! We did everything family style so we could try as much as possible… We started with the Calamares Fritos; a lot of place get calamari wrong because they overcook it.. this was perfect and tender in the center and crisp on the outside!!! We also did the Yuca con Chicharron… let me say they came out of the gate swinging!!! I love yucca and I love chicharron (well lol I love perfectly cooked pork anything!! so this was a huge winner in my book!!! Next up… well of course we had to do pupusas!!! I loved the Frijol y Queso (reminded me of the ones my best friends mom would make when I was a kid , and of course I couldn’t get enough of the Chicharron pupusa (I already mentioned how much I love pork right? I mean it is the other white meat so I don’t feel bad about it!!! ; they were amazing!!!! For dinner…. Yes there was more food… we shared the Churrasco (which I have to get anytime I see it and this was was a stunner!!! , the Chuletas de Cerdo fried; although it’s offered grilled if that’s your vibe (and by now I’m sure you know how I feel about this one! , the Camarones al Ajillo which was Thomas’ recommendations and one of their most popular dishes (I totally understand why!!! I love garlic and I love shrimp so it hit in all the right ways!!! ; but I must say I fell head over heels for the Mofongo Mar y Tierra!!!!! Until now I’ve only had proper Mofongo in Puerto Rico and I fell in love at first bite!!! The Mofongo at La Pupusa Loca gave me all the nostalgia vibes and delivered everything I needed it to give!!!! If you’re in town I highly recommend it!!! A great place to enjoy great food and make memories!!! On the way out we met the owner and she was so sweet and thanked us for coming and bringing our Texas size appetites lol!!! Go see her!!! She won’t disappoint!!!"
