"I recently had the pleasure of dining at Kaliente, a delightful Salvadoran restaurant that serves an array of mouthwatering dishes, including their famous Pupusas. From the moment I stepped inside, I was transported to El Salvador, surrounded by warm hospitality and the irresistible aroma of traditional cuisine. The highlight of my visit was undoubtedly the Pupusas. These handmade corn tortillas filled with savory ingredients such as cheese, beans, and succulent meats were simply superb. The balance of flavors and the perfect texture of the Pupusas were a testament to the culinary mastery at Kaliente. Each bite was a delightful explosion of taste that left me craving more. While the Pupusas stole the show, the menu at Kaliente offers an extensive selection of other delectable dishes that should not be missed. From the fragrant and robustly seasoned tamales to the flavorful yuca frita and plantains, every item showcases the authentic flavors of Salvadoran cuisine. The service at Kaliente was impeccable, with a friendly and attentive staff that made me feel like a cherished guest. They were more than happy to provide recommendations and share their knowledge of the dishes, ensuring that my dining experience was nothing short of extraordinary. The ambiance of the restaurant was cozy and inviting, with tasteful Salvadoran decor that added to the overall charm. Whether you're seeking a casual lunch or a memorable dinner, Kaliente's relaxed atmosphere is the perfect setting to enjoy the rich tapestry of Salvadoran flavors."

"We arrived around 2:30 p.m. and were surprised to find that we were given a lunch menu, rather than the regular menu we'd been looking at. Since my dad is elderly and goes to bed early, we planned an early dinner. However, the lunch menu was completely different, and the options we wanted were unavailable. We checked the menu several times, but most combinations had ground beef tacos or beef burritos. I really just wanted a cheese enchilada and a bean tostada; I wasn't in the mood for meat. The lunch menu was very limited, and my dad couldn't find anything he liked either. He mentioned to the waitress that he really wanted the green chili, and she said she could accommodate him. I then asked her if I could get my combination, attempting to substitute the taco for a tostada. I was downsizing my order since I only wanted a bean tostada, which is much cheaper than meat. I was even willing to pay a little extra for the substitution. However, her response seemed reluctant. After a brief moment, she returned and said it wasn't possible. This waitress, a larger woman with wavy hair, seemed unfriendly from the start. My dad and I both felt that her decision was final without even checking with the kitchen properly. She offered us the option to order a tostada on the side, but the lunch was priced at $12.95, while the tostada alone was $10.95. There was no way I was going to pay that much; it felt inflexible and unreasonable. At that point, my dad suggested that we leave. We came here to celebrate his birthday together, after all. He approached the waitress to cancel our order, and you could see the irritation on her face. She had a terrible attitude and even argued with my 77-year-old father. Fortunately, a thinner, friendlier waitress stepped in and confirmed that we could cancel our meal with no problem. I'm grateful for her intervention and can't help but wish she had been our primary server. We ended up leaving and went to a restaurant called Lindo, where we could mix and match any combination we liked. We had a wonderful meal and a lovely birthday celebration, and we have no intention of returning to the Mexican restaurant at the mall. It's disappointing that they lack any flexibility. I just felt it was important to share my thoughts about our experience."
