One of the best authentic Mexican restaurants remaining in San Francisco.

Great authentic mexican food. The rice was not great but the soup was amazing fresh and delicious. Fast and easy service over the phone.

The food was excellent. Our waiter was not fluent in English, but he tried his best. The melted cheese with chips was delicious. They only accepted cash, no credit cards! I was relieved that I had enough cash to pay. View menu

Visiting San Fran with my friend and decided to try this place. Horrible service and food, as I found a huge bone in two out of three of my tacos. When I brought this to the attention of the servers I did not even receive an apology and then charged full price. Will not be coming back ever.

Too many years ago it was a good place to eat in family. Today the place where I buy great tacos were closed. So my husband bought 2 beef thoung tacos the meet was all black, (horrible)And the wet burrito they put black avocado on top. Gosh! I was so hungry, but I wouldn't give that to my pet! No way.

The restaurant serves delicious homemade meals. If they offer handmade tortillas in a Mexican restaurant, you know it'll be a good meal. I tried the chilaquiles and they were made with handmade tortillas, you can taste the freshness in every bite. The machaca con huevos was also very tasty. The chorizo con huevos was on point, much better than the machaca from Rudford's in San Diego. View menu

I arrived in San Francisco this morning for the Carnavale Parade and stumbled upon Chava's restaurant. The enticing smell of something delicious cooking drew me in. Since it was cold and overcast, I decided to order the Chicken Pozole Soup. It was a delightful surprise to taste such flavorful homemade food, especially with the handmade tortillas. The owner, who was a gracious lady, made the experience even more enjoyable. Bravo Chava's! It was just what I needed.

We were looking forward to dining in the Mission district. The food tasted anything but authentic. The ceviche should have been marinated in lemon juice, giving it a semi-raw texture that I enjoy. The menu had a picture of this, but what I received was shrimp cooked in ketchup. Ceviche does not belong with ketchup! It should have tomatoes, onions, and peppers. Occasionally cucumber is included, but it's not necessary. The champurrado drink had an excess of flour. The tortillas for the tacos seemed store-bought and not of high quality.

"Earlier this year Salty 's was featured in one of the top 100 places to eat in the Bay Area in 2022, and after trying it a couple times, it 's easy to see why. Quality and flavor, great customer service, it checks all those boxes. I occasionally visit the 24 hour fitness on Van Ness, and Salty 's happens to be just few short blocks away which makes it perfect when I 'm looking for a post-workout sandwich. And for those that know me, I love me my sandwiches. On my latest visit, I decided to go with the 'Glorious B sandwich, which come with turkey, bacon, avocado, pepper jack, veggies, and garlic mayo. The blend of flavors and high quality of the turkey is no wonder it 's at the very top of the menu list. It 's one of those sandwiches, that you can bring to park and not need a ton of napkins to get through. It was well put together, with the ratio of all the ingredients matching well. Nothing overpowering, just sandwich perfection. The size of the sandwich I thought was the perfect size for my appetite. As I 've gotten older I can 't put down as much food as I used to, and after one-half I knew I could 've stopped eating, be content, saved the rest for later. But of course I ate the whole thing and nothing sounds better than taking a quick power nap right after. I love that their menu has so many different sandwich combinations, so definitely take time to check their menu before calling-in/walking-in to order because it 'll definitely save you some time. On my latest visit, I was in and out in 10 minutes. Definitely towards the top of my list of sandwiches in this part of town!"
