"We stopped in on our way to horseshoe bay for my girlfriends birthday on August 22nd at 1:30 pm and let me just say… If you’re not a regular here, don’t bother. Bartenders don’t pay any mind to you unless you’re one of their “regulars”. While they greet and treat these regulars with smiles and good service, we sat there almost feeling like a burden to this Rhode Island Scholar. The food was decent, the fries were overdone and poorly seasoned. The wings were solid however as well as the salad my girlfriend ordered. I was also declined for a beer without a physical card on me, I’ve worked 15 years as a bartender and 7 in Texas, so I’m aware there are ways around these rules, especially when we’re told that they need to check the physical card, and the bartender proceeded to not even check the date on my girlfriends ID, otherwise he would’ve seen it was her birthday, so he either didn’t check the date and lied to us, or checked the date and didn’t want to say anything about the birthday today, which was it? This same bartender with the energy and service of a man who genuinely hates his life, then tried to double charge us on our beverages (there’s that New Yorker energy!!! until we asked him to remove the extra charges, to which he looked flabbergasted. We both work in service and try to see the good in every experience, but this one was rough. I hope the regulars business in this place is worth the losing of almost any new potential customers."
