"First, when I made the reservation the indication on Open Table was that there was limited availability. As soon as I made the reservation, I received a phone call from the restaurant that very aggressively wanted to make sure that I was sure I would be able to make it and that I would be there on time. They did make me aware that there was a limited menu, however they could not tell me what was on the menu and told me I should check the write up in the local newspaper for the Best Places for dinner on Valentine's Day for the menu. We arrived about minutes early and the restaurant was basically empty. We were seated immediately. The restaurant slowly filled up over the minutes that we were at our table, but nowhere near filled up to justify the limited reservation times and initial call to confirm the reservation. From there they had a limited choice of wine by the glass and the one my wife chose was per glass with a very small pour. The appetizers were good. Both my wife and I got the crab cakes. The entrees were poor. I had the half smoked chicken and it was over cooked and very dry. My wife had the beef tenderloin and it was also overcooked. I got the red velvet cake for dessert and it was average. Fortunately my wife got the creme brulee and it was good so we ended on a fairly positive note. Big disappointment for what you would expect from a high end hotel restaurant and a Valentine's Day dinner."

"It was quiet when we had gone in. Not to many people dining and I think I might now why now. The ambiance is simple but clean looking. The waiter was very nice and kind throughout. However, the food was another story. The collard greens are very salty. The sweet potato was missing some flavor not horrible though and they through marshmallow on top not even toasted or somewhat melted. My son food was cold. My food was way over cooked. I took recommendation of waiter to get steak. I like mine medium. It came out very well done. The waiter took it back so quick for me and they made another one. I cut it while he was there. It was raw. When I say raw it was raw. I asked for manager, as this is not waiters fault and he had been very pleasant. She came I told her what happened including ordering kale salad that they apparently ran out of. I told her I ordered and asked for steak to be done medium. I opened the steak for her and said at what temperature do you think this is?? She said raw!! I said yes!!! I said I can’t eat this. She said let me make this right for you as this was first time visiting. I said you know it okay I’ll pass she said no I’m make it again and speak to them. I told her this will be third time maybe o should get something else. She assured me 3rd time was charm. When the 3rd steak came back. it was burnt and overcooked. You could see the burnt char in fact you could scrape it!! I at this point had enough and brought my plate personally to kitchen. The cook was mad the manager didn’t know what to say. I told them it was a shame and wrong and the third time why would you even serve burnt food. don’t think the steak could be cooked right you should have listened and let me order something else. I wish their was more attentiveness and that the rest of food could be hot not cold. Even the biscuit butter was so cold you couldn’t get to butter. The stress to enjoy a nice dinner out was ruined after even driving over 45min. I came in hungry left hungry."

"Half an hour for a drink order to arrive is too long. We ordered 2 rounds of drinks, both times it took at least 30 minutes for them to arrive. The restaurant was not super busy. The bar area had empty spots. The bar itself was half empty. It didn't matter if we ordered through our server or the manager. There was also the fact our server didn't check how our meal was. The quality of our meal was OK though some of the fried chicken was dry and lacking flavor. Isn't that supposed to be a specialty of this establishment (especially when the menu is mercifully concise and not too long)? But the enjoyment of the food was marred when our server made a big sloppy wipe of her nose while standing at our table."

"Had lunch delivered and was not disappointed. This is the grilled fish po?boy: fish super tender, falling apart in the best way all over a burger bun. The coleslaw was not revolting and was a nice addition to the sandwich. I also had the chips and guac (very solid good size) and the jalapeño shrimp bacon things. These were very good when they were hot but the bacon was not great cold so definitely reheat in the oven or pan fry to crisp, if applicable."

"Great atmosphere and service. Good food. Got the Bouillabaisse Market Catch (halibut) with a decaf [coffee] “espresso” martini, which was delicious. Halibut was moist tender with great sear and Parmesan crust. Bouillabaisse had almost a chili-like flavor with lots of corn and different seafood, was delicious as well a little different from Bouillabaisse I’ve had elsewhere. Overall, very good experience. Would recommend."

"Our waitress seemed either overwhelmed or just not very attentive. Whenever she inquired about something, she would frequently forget, requiring us to remind her multiple times. Since it was just four of us, this felt a bit ridiculous. The prices were quite high, but we expected that given it was a resort restaurant—it felt more like we were paying for the location than the quality of the food. The meal was mediocre overall, though I did enjoy the red beans and rice. For what we paid, we could have had a much better dining experience elsewhere. The limited menu was also disappointing; I really wished there had been more options available. We only chose to eat there because the weather was uncertain, and based on this experience, that's likely the only reason I'd consider returning."

"I regret having to write such a negative review, but despite understanding that the restaurant was operating with minimal staff, the lack of planning was evident. We waited for an hour without receiving our food and there was no communication from the staff. The only reason I found out what was happening was because I had to get up from our table and approach the bar myself to ask for updates, and I ended up getting our drinks refilled that way."

"Shannon was our server and I want to commend her on a great job. She was always attentive and always came to our table with a smile on her face. You need more severs like Shannon. Get rid of the hostess who had on a green sweater Thursday 12.29) night.. she was a little rude and non accommodating. Make her a food runner or something where she has less contact with people. The drink orders were slow . I guess due to 1 bartender. When y’all have a full house like that, there need to be more than 1 person attending the bar."

"(Last visited 7/29/2021. As a very popular and local favorite I 've been to this place a couple of times, but have never gotten around to doing an actual Yelp review! Shame on me. Well, now it 's time! Atmosphere/Appearance: Set right downtown Hartford on Asylum Street is this gem. It 's located underneath the awesome Pig 's Eye Pub and has a very casual, yet, upscale feel to it. There 's red everywhere, dark woods, high ceilings, great music and a lot of room. There 's like 3 separate dining areas and even a place for live music. I haven 't seen a show here in quite a while, but it 's such a good time when they get a good jazz band in here. Service: Daria took good care of us! She was fast and made sure that we had everything that we needed. Food: So on this visit I got to try out their wings and their blackened catfish. Let 's discuss the wings! The Buffalo flavor was so Heavenly. They tasted like they were smoked then fried. They were so tender, juicy and with great flavor. I could 've totally grabbed some of the other flavors and made a meal out of it. Boom. For my entrée I went for the Blackened Catfish and this is a dish I normally wouldn 't go for. I 've been trying to expand my horizons and eat OTHER things aside from wings all the time. Lol. This catfish was delicious. It was nicely salted, with incredibly rich, deep flavor that just touched my soul. It was amazing. With the catfish comes cheesy grits garlicky green beans. Just the best freaking side-dishes to complement the main. Value: So for $12.95 you get 8 wings and I think that 's fairly decent. They 're of good size, incredibly flavor and the quality is just next level. My catfish dinner was $17.95 and that 's very good in my opinion. It 's a filling dinner with great flavors and I mean, what more could you want?! In conclusion, this place is awesome and there 's a reason it 's been around for so many years. "Wow had so much fun here with the fam! We went to see the Rolling Stones cover band so we went early and sat on the patio it was fairly pleasant outside so we were happy. Took awhile to find a wait staff member to get our orders but there was a singer there so we didn't get bored. Noticed they are pet friendly on the patio so that was cool. We finally order and we immediately go for the fried green tomatoes! OMG I have had some good ones but these were the best I have ever had EVER . We also ordered the chicken and mash potatoes. The chicken was breaded in the same batter as the green tomatoes but the tomatoes stole the show...at a chicken shack! The chicken came out hot but was dry and over cooked and potatoes were ok. My cons are the portion to price ratio. It was a little food for what I think was a tad to pricey compared to some of their competition. I will go back for those fried green tomatoes with that crispy seasoned goodness I hope soon. Oh yeah the not the Stones were awesome!!!! One more thing yall That biscuit was dry dry dry lol okra was pretty dang good too"

"Fantastic Fred 's!. This place is great. I love the concept of buffets but am often left feeling disgusted and scammed. This place is a happy exception. Every visit I have come with the family and everyone has left satisfied and eager to plan the next visit. I was a little leery the last time I visited as to how I would fare since my dietary habits had recently shifted from occasional poultry and fish, to straight pescatarianism. However, I was pleasantly surprised that they had added a few more fired and grilled fish dishes to the line up, as well as removed some of the pork from their veggie dishes (a southern thing). I suppose what I 'm getting at is that you can bring the whole family and everyone should be able to get their fill. The only thing that would make this place better is a lower price, but really we all should probably treat buffets as a 'once in a while ' affair anyhow."

"Charleston Harbor Fish House is house in an absolutely stunning space, with an upscale coastal flair and nautical decor. The views are absolutely to die for, with an incredible perspective of the harbor and sunset!! The Bridge Bar was unfortunately closed for a private event but we were seated next to the huge windows overlooking the USS Yorktown. Our server, Danielle, was incredible and super attentive. The manager checked in on us a few times and made the experience memorable. Portions were generous and the plates were all reasonably priced. I particularly enjoyed the Fried Green Tomatoes, Market Fish (Mahi Mahi), and the Espresso Martini!"

"We went to the restaurant for Sunday brunch with a party of 2 and found it to be clean and spacious. The hostess and servers were friendly, with Colin providing great service. He was attentive, made good menu recommendations, and had a friendly and energetic demeanor. The food and drinks were served promptly and at the right temperatures. The shrimp and grits were flavorful, while the snow crab omelette needed more seasoning but was still decent. The Groundbreaking drink I had was just right in terms of sweetness and strength."

"I would describe this as a nice restaurant that focuses on barbecue, rather than being a traditional barbecue joint. It has a clean atmosphere and delightful decor. The staff was friendly and attentive, which added to the overall experience. The macaroni and cheese was outstanding and stole the spotlight, even when compared to the brisket and pulled pork. While the brisket was somewhat dry, it had a great flavor from the rub. The pulled pork was in a similar vein. The onion rings were excellent—they had a fantastic beer batter that made them crispy and well-seasoned. The sauces were enjoyable, and the bourbon selection was impressive. The service deserves five stars, with a quick turnaround time. Gigi and Katie were particularly wonderful, super friendly, and attentive!"

"Firstly, Charlie Gâs Never fails to impress and last night was no different. Let us start with the service! Our waitress Alyssa was phenomenal!! I cannot heap enough praise on the experience she creates. Sheâs attentive and observant to customer needs. She appears at just the right moment. The main course featured the drum of the day. The freshness was evident in the quality of the cut. The sweet potatoes really brought the dish together. would order again! "The place is very nice and warm, feels very intimate food there, like at home. Me and the Nabeby had the meat ravioli and the chicken marsala. Divided both and loved every dish. Ronnie is such a great host and has amazing people skills and respect. We were there at 230 o'clock where they were at 3 and he greeted us with open arms. The meal also comes with unlimited bread and a dessert. What a fool! We come back to enjoy the entire menu."
