"We've been to this place many times to include the celebration of several important events! So I happily chose this place again in hopes of having a pleasant experience once more! However, It seems like fate had a different experience waiting for us on June 1st. We arrived about mid-morning, and my bride arranged with the hostess to sit outside. Shortly after the hostess left, our drink orders were taken and delivered by two different people, and each said someone else would be by to take our food orders. Melissa arrived a few minutes later. I ordered my wife's food (she asked me to) and I made my selection and specified 2 things, I requested the eggs in the same fashion I have for the last 50 years (and she felt it necessary to educate me on the matter). I was also very specific on how I wanted them (without hollandaise sauce). When my food arrived, I was happy to see my wife's order was correct and disappointed that mine was not. Yes, it had the sauce I had precislely asked NOT to have... To be honest, I was dealing with a personal issue (death anniversary of a loved one), and the earlier condescending treatment from Melissa was enough to prompt me to escalate the matter in a manner that would have been less than ideal. I chose to cool off, muscle through the meal mostly to avoid ruining the experience for my wife. Once we were done, I asked for the bill and attempted to hand her my credit card, to which she reacted as if my hand was soiled with feces... I assure you it was not! I kept my cool and paid the bill, left an undeserving 20% tip (because I'm fully aware of the typical compensation structure that exists in the service industry and inflation is horrible these days), and made sure to fill out the requested evaluation that came with the bill (which was either prefilled or started by someone else). I was sincere and accurate on the details, left my email address, and my full name. It is disappointing to see the management or the person who was supposed to read those evaluations did not contact me! It has been 9 days! Yes, I checked my junk folder, too... I'm open to the possibility that perhaps Melissa read it and chose not to deliver it... Regardless of what actually happened, I've chosen this venue to make my remarks about the experience. So, if you're ever at this establishment and you happen to have a similar experience, let them know (have the manager come over to your table). It takes years to create a brand and seconds to destroy it by uncaring staff (or perhaps are carrying out a hidden agenda)."

"I wish the food tasted as good as it looked. Unfortunately the only thing that tasted decent were the beignets, however be mindful that while they were good, they were not authentic tasting. The dish I got I believe it was called capiccio- it was seafood in a tomato based broth. The seafood didn't taste all that fresh, the broth tasted a little off. The best part about the dish was the parmesan bread that came with it. My daughter and I both got this dish and had much the same feedback about it. It tasted like the broth was poured over seafood that was heated up in the same liquid it may have been frozen in and not rinsed off or removed from the seafood before the broth was poured. My friend got the seafood linguine (can't remember the specific name on the menu), but the sauce clearly had butter in it that had been pretty badly burned. All you could really taste was the burnt butter. And her daughter got a club wrap... She asked for no tomatoes, but they put tomatoes. She did say that had they not put tomatoes it would have been good. She tried picking them out and the wrap ended up falling apart, so she didn't really get to enjoy it. I will say though, that we all enjoyed the appetizers- fried calamari and crispy brussel sprouts. This was my birthday dinner, so it ended up being a little extra disappointing. I remember when Downriver opened years ago and how good it was then. Wonder what happened?"

"My wife and I used to be regular customers of your restaurant, because we like to support local small businesses. In father 's day, June 16th we went for breakfast, and it was a busy morning in your establishment. So we decided to seat at the bar and ordered our meals. It was quite slow, which we understood. But my wife said to the waiter that she wasn 't feeling well, because of a sugar rush. But she was disappointed about my wife insistence and like a robot told us that the orders were on line and couldn 't do anything else . She could help offering fruit or some juice etc... but not. She preferred to be just lazy and rude and while walking around us, said in a loud voice if you don 't wanna wait, leave! She was not joking. We of course were surprised, and even if my wife wasn 't feeling well and we were really hungry, we stood up and went away, because this waitress behavior was really rude. Not just a comment, she really meant what she said. Of course we told them that we were really surprised and that it was rude and not okay of her. They instead of trying to apologize just make ironic gestures which we really didn 't deserve. You know something? We always tipped well there, asked in good manners, and even brought friends, and recommended the establishment. Actually sometimes I used to recommend the place to visitors and clients in the zone. We live close by... So now we just go other businesses around for brunch. Today I received a promotional email from this restaurant which by the way I already had forgotten about. I think that instead of giving a 10%bonus, they should coach in customer service their team. I will never go back. My best regards."

"I was sooo disappointed in this restaurant. My wife and I were looking for a new place to try for a late Sunday lunch. We saw their ad and thought that it looked good. I was dying for some great southwestern food. Unfortunately it was the worst that we had ever had. We started with the fresh tortilla chip with four dips $9). The two salsas were bland and tasteless. They did not have a fresh taste. The Guac was made with cheap watery and pale avocados. It was totally lacking in any flavor. The queso dip was a pale cheap canned cheese sauce with some color thrown in. Again, no flavor, no spice. The chips were nice and crisp but for $9 the whole thing made Tostitos look pretty good. Ok, Ok… on to the signature dish we decided to share a $23 fajita. The waiter described it as the best thing on the menu. “Chicken breast, jumbo shrimp and steak marinated in southwestern seasonings. Served with mixed peppers and onions on a sizzling skillet”, Yum! Unfortunately, it was as terribly disappointing as the app. The waiter brought the dish to the table in a luke warm not sizzling) skillet. As we were seated outside and downwind I could smell the strong odor of old shrimp from ten feet away. Not spoiled but certainly heading that way. The shrimp I could not try but my brave wife who loves seafood stated that it was tasteless. The chicken was tender and juicy but also flavorless. The steak, instead of being thinly sliced was cut into ¾” wide strips and was like trying to chew rubber. I literally could not bite a piece off the fajita and had to pull it out. It had little flavor. The tortillas had been “over microwaved” and were tough and dry around the edges. The fajitas came with a cute rectangle dish with tiny, tiny square ramekins of pico, sour cream, guac and lettuce. About 1 ½ tablespoon of each. Well that was enough for one maybe two fajitas but the dish came with four tortillas. The server never stopped by to see if we wanted any more. All in all, the server had a great personality. We he did show up when we had finished eating and asked how things were. I expressed my displeasure, politely). He apologized and said that he would discount the food. I refused stating that was not my intent. He placed the check down and returned after a very long time. He asked if the manager had stopped by. I replied, “no.” He then stated that I could see why the restaurant had problems. I had already figured that out. The entire time that we were in the restaurant the manager was laughing and chatting with a waitress and hostess at the front door. Maybe that’s why most of the many other restaurants in the complex at the time were 40-50% full this place had only one other table. Sad, they supposedly have many awards at the home store in Boston and the fact that a lot of money was spent on the comfortable and inviting décor. Only open four months, in this current environment they won’t make it another four, sad, sad ,sad"
